We look forward to welcoming you to La Banane.
The food was really good, however for those prices it was either not enough or not good enough. Other than that the place seemed fine. However, there are cheaper places with similar food and better ambiance. Not worth the money.
Food was great! Really enjoyed the oysters and tune. Service was very good.
Wonderful meal with attentive staff. Every dish we had was delicious. Definitely recommend the scallops and the albacore tuna. Sea bass presented really well and very refreshing. One note on salted caramel ice cream was it was too salty. Would probably just get the banana cake next time.
Beautiful service, great ambiance, and delicious food.
Delicious food in a cool place. Vibrant classic French cuisine with a contemporary touch!
The restaurant was super busy but we were well cared for. The food was excellent and the cocktail menu was nice as well. We will definitely go back on ur next visit to Toronto
This is an optional shareable menu. Seabass was amazing and I am not a fan of fish. Strongly recommend the Ziggy Stardust chocolate dessert ball. It's over the top excessive but the mere existence of this item at $50 puts this in the "value" category for me.
Amazing, friendly service and gorgeous food in a stunning setting.
Great as always. We are not as regular as we would like to be...but each visit surprises us the same as the first. Love it from start to finish. Great service, great food, great ambiance. Thanks La Banane... you’ve got the formula right.
Fantastic as always! Great food, great service, great ambiance.
Best place to go on a first date. Our servers name was Olivia and she was absolutely charming. I needed help choosing a bottle of chablis for dinner, her knowledge and friendly attitude made it a pleasant experience. 10/10 rating.
Excellent service and food quality, great ambiance, smaller portions but quality matters! Would definitely return!
Worth the short ride out from the centre of Toronto. This predominantly seafood restaurant was perfect for a Friday night - good food, great drinks and chilled but buzzy vibe.
Delicious cocktails, shrimp, banana cake with salted caramel ice cream, great service, stylish set up. All and all a great experience!
Fantastic dinner, the food and drinks were delicious and we had excellent service, looking forward to returning again!
Delicious food but small portions for the value of money you spend
one of the best spots in the city - food, drinks, service, atmosphere was perfect!
One of the best dining experiences in a few years. Everything we had was delicious. The foie gras was top cooked to perfection. Lastly the table service was the best I have experienced in a Toronto restaurant. It was attentive without being intrusive. The Scottish Monk cocktail was really good if you like Negronis you will like this.
Impeccable service and attentiveness.
I had an amazing culinary experience at La Banane. I arrived solo and was promptly greeted and seated at the bar which is a wonderful way to enjoy this restaurant. I started with the oysters and scallops and they were both fantastic. The oysters were super fresh and the scallops with the garlic sauce melted in your mouth and left you wanting more! The foie gras was perfectly prepared and paired well with the suggested ice cider. The sweetbreads had a wonderful creamy texture and was served in a nice sauce. The house cocktails are very well crafted and quite unique. The service was friendly and attentive the whole way through. I will definitely be back soon and I highly recommend!
We returned to La Banane with an out of town guest because we enjoyed ourselves so much on previous visits.
Service was amazing. Do the tasting menu if you can’t choose.
Once again you have exceeded our expectations! My husband and I took our friend for his Birthday dinner and it was exactly what we had boasted it would be. Fantastic food, served by the most hospitable team in a super switched on setting! Thank you again!
While I appreciate the effort required to create the ziggy stardust egg, I felt like I was personally robbed of 50 bucks when I opened it up to find little to nothing of any value or quality inside.
The rest of the menu was very good and reasonably priced for a high end place. It’s just the ziggy stardust egg that left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
The Beef tartare was the best I have ever had... The French omelette was average. Oysters were solid. Fois gras was good.. service was outstanding and the ambience was nice. I’d venture back.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Food is good except there's too much sauce. Half the dishes are sitting in a pool of sauce. Foie gras completely overpowered by the sauce. Sweetbreads and beef tenderloin swimming in sauce. Strange.
Superbe! Wonderful vibe, staff, and cocktails! Duck to die for!
La Banane provided exceptional service and delicious food. Thank you for the epic birthday dinner!
The fresh shrimp & scallops are outstanding. Foods are a great taste. Above average than most of the French Cuisines. Worth the price will definitely come again.
It was a lovely evening. A charming and attentive staff, terrific food, lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you
Great, Chic Place with great portions! Olivia really made our night!
Never fail to have a fabulous evening out at la banana. Good food, great space and great company makes for a fun evening for sure!
Fantastic restaurant and atmosphere. The food is phenomenal.
We order the mini platter which came with 8 oysters, 5 shrimp with cocktail sauce, raw scallops in a divine garlic buttermilk sauce, marinated mussels, and lobster! We also ordered the crowd pleaser, the sea bass. We are so happy that we did! It was in the most delicious beurre blanc. The type of beurre blanc that you wish they made barrels enough to take home and have for the rest of your life. The fish was perfectly cooked and despite all the butter in the sauces, we felt that the freshness of everything else made the meal balanced and our stomach quite satisfied. To finish off the unforgettable dining experience was the banana torte, simply delicious!
We will be back very soon!
The whole experience was wonderful! The service was super, the food was amazing, and we had such a great birthday dinner.
La Banane is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in the city. The food is always outstanding, service warm and friendly, the atmosphere is fantastic- perfect for a small group or an intimate, romantic dinner. This is one restaurant that never disappoints.
I definitely will recommend La Banane, and I will return.
Seating arrangements were varied with pleasurable space for patrons. Great decor.
The menu had a good range to choose from, plus it offered several eating style options from tapas to a full entree. Out meals were served to the perfect temperature.
Good service makes an excellent meal become an excellent experience. Our wait staff were informative, attentive and politely discreet.
It was an expensive meal, but well worth it.
The food and service are absolutely great!
A very nice restaurant that I would love to go back again!
Food was great staff were very knowledgeable about each dish and the bartender was a 10
Delicious food, excellent wine, charming staff. Loved La Banane.
Food was marginal at best. Supposedly a French restaurant. However nothing typically French to speak of being offered. The fried chicken looked like an order from Colonel Sanders and just as unappealingly presented. My filet was nothing but a solid piece of meat swimming in a pool of brown sauce. Nothing we ate was particularly mouth-wateringly good, but rather quite tasteless. The noise level was ridiculously loud as in most restaurants of today. The music was much too loud. The service, however, was excellent, the servers all being charming young people and quite attentive to patrons’ needs. Will not be recommending this restaurant, nor will we be returning. It just seems like the latest new “hot spot” being sheepishly frequented by the trend followers.
