L&W Oyster Co Ratings and Reviews
Atmosphere was wonderful. Super cute and staff was great. Wonderful wine. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed with the food. We had the angry crab cakes, sloppy tacos, oysters, clam chowder, and tuna rockers. Clam chowder was nice, but everything else kind of fell flat.
My husband was in the mood for fried oysters. Although not on the menu, Tyler encouraged us to come and they would do what we liked. When we got the fried oysters they weren't the Old Skool fried, O Bay seasoned oysters we're used to from Baltimore. We did have outstanding Brooklyn clam chowder and amazing soft shell crab bites (Make sure you have this!!!). But the best part? Tyler spoke to us & apologized & adjusted our bill because we didn't get what we expected. He noted our desire in our reservation so next time they would know. We can't WAIT to go back there! They understand oysters and they know customer service!
I've been to L & W for Lunch, Happy Hour and Dinner. Fantastic Seafood and wonderful appetizers or sharing plates of fresh seafood. The staff is cordial and our waitress Sasha, is always friendly, welcoming and helpful!
Highly recommend the Lobster BLT, crab cake and Brussels sprouts chef salad!
first time. came on a Monday nite. checked in at 730 - not a late nite. Monday apparently is lobster nite with $29 lobster dinner. of the 4 people in my party, 2 ordered the lobster dinner and we told in a non apologetic manner that NO LOBSTERS LEFT. when I asked what the accommodation could be, I was told NOTHING. then it took over 45 minutes between appetizers and mains. and the waitress was no where to be found in a very small restaurant. so my final conclusion is......don't waste your time or $$$. there a lots of other places that are better in the area.
Service was prompt and friendly. I was looking for something more quiet and appropriate for a business lunch. However, that was not the staff's fault. Menu looks interesting and staff is friendly, prompt and understanding. I would return under different circumstances. By the way the make a great Bloody Mary
I would come back for the happy hour. The fish taco was tasty, but the small fish portion was dwarfed by the large taco and filling, small and if I hadn't ordered an appetizer I would have left hungry. The tempura soft shell crab BLT was a lot of bread which completely overwhelmed the smallish crab. I think some balance of ingredients is due. They have a prix fix lunch menu for $19 which is a decent value for the neighborhood. I'd give them another try, especially for happy hour.
Fish tacos were great and, surprisingly, so were the fried olives. The oysters were good as well but we actually liked the other food on the menu better. The other dish we tried were the tuna ranchers with wasabi sauce-yummy. Would recommend the restaurant.
I've been to this restaurant many times before and the food is always delicious! This time I came for the Drag Brunch on Sunday with Gilda Wabbit & Gina Tonic and had the best time! It was fun and interactive, the queens sang and danced live. Great food menu & $12 bottomless mimosas. Would totally go back again.
