Love this place they make you feel at home ❤️
Good food and fun ambiance.
The chef and server were very nice/professional! Ive been to teppan places before but this show just consisted of banging the metal spatula loudly against the cook top, onion volcano and lighting the table on fire 4 times(cool, but redundant). For 32 dollars per person there was a decent amount of food, but the quality was lack luster (steak was kind of tough and slightly overcooked). my partner LOVED the shrimp appetizer though! All in all I probably wont be back to this resturaunt for the teppanyaki, willing to try out the sushi though!
Long wait time for food to arrive. Enjoyed the sushi. Teriyaki bowls were basic.
Every employee friendly and the food was great. Will go back definitely.
Much better in the mid-80s
Chef most interesting! Tried to be funny but was more sarcastic and inappropriate. (Wanted my daughters telephone number after telling us he was married w grand kids) veggies, shrimp and fried rice very good. Salmon and chicken dry and over cooked. Filet flavor good but not medium rare (no pink). Friends we met at table said they come often but never order chicken and salmon. Now I know why. The table tipped him $30 because he showed up for work and served us. Serving needs to be honored but excellence would be appreciated and that’s not all his fault concerning the quality of food.
Server was kind, smiled but we needed to ask for refills. Not busy at 5pm so maybe she was new. We all tipped 25% regardless because of same reason above.
It was great the girls and I had a wonderful time. My spoon was dirty when she brought out my soup but not a big deal . Waitress apologized and brought me a new spoon at least that’s what she said haha
There was no show or entertainment at the cooking table... he came made the food and left! Very disappointing since we been going since to Kyoto’s since the early 2000’s
Had my sons 13th birthday party here. Great environment and always fun to meet new people. Food and service was great.
Not Good! Service was bad!
Perfect as always! Love the new bar!
I made reservations through Open Table about 2 hours before we arrived. When we arrived we were were 15 minutes early and told we would be seated closer to 7pm. When that time rolled around another party with no reservations came in. Thankfully we were seated before them but that is the only positive experience we had. Once seated with 2 other parties our table was ignored for 20 minutes until my husband got up to notify the waitstaff. The same couple that came in with no reservation was seated, served drink and was having their meal prepared before we even had our drink order taken. Someone came over immediately to take our drink orders. 10 minutes later the server for our table finally arrived to take our orders. The restaurant was even noisier then normal teppanyaki places. Food was not very flavorful, do you even use spices? My miso was luke warm when delivered and the green tea ice cream left a bad after taste in your mouth. The only other positive was our guy that prepared our food. I will not recommend this place to anyone. We drove 40 minutes just to try some place we had never been.
Pricey night. 2 drinks, 2 entrees at teppanyaki. Chef was bored, no dialogue, no entertainment. Food was bland and tasted only of soy sauce. Teppanyaki used to be an experience and good food. This was not.
Just fun! Great inexpensive cocktails and fun staff!!! We always enjoy ourselves and have a great time!
Cook was very junior. They didn’t even have serving dishes for the ginger and mustard.
The food is not up to modern standards. It’s kind of old school Japanese food, but there are many ordinary Japanese restaurants that serve fresher and better prepared food.
Had a reservation but still had to wait 30 min and then we were sat a table my ourselfs.
The food was good, but it seemed that they were very understaffed. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly, but it could be that she felt overwhelmed. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours total. The manager was running around and helping with everything, which is awesome so props to him for that. But other than that the service was just okay.
Birthday dinner! Amazing
Great place that feels cozy. Excellent for special get togethers...
Absolutely delicious! Love this place and so glad we found it.
TV had sports playing with music on in the restaurant. Way too bright everywhere, had to ask the chef to keep the lights down. Chef was good, food was just OK. Salads came out after chef hat starting cooking proteins.
Had reservations for 8:30 for a party of 5. When we arrived at the restaurant they said the reservation was for 2, even though it said 5 on our Open Table reservation. It took about 45 minutes to be seated.
Kyoto Scottsdale quality has dropped off. The table chef forgot the sauces & didn't give them out until the meal was over. The fried rice, usually prepared and served first was done last. The taste of everything was bland. Very disappointing. For 2 adults and 3 children the bill was $148 (plus tip).
We had a long wait -30 minutes past our reservation
It was cold in the restaurant
Food was okay, but very pricey now
No special acknowledgment for a birthday celebration
Reservations were at 815 but didn’t sit down until 845 and didn’t get a chef until almost 945.
Great family fun. Hibachi chefs put on a great show for the kids. Sushi was on point and was fresh. Service was great as well. All around great experience!
Not their best night.
Hot sake was cold.
Only one cook apparently and one server..
Line up of people at the door.
This place is never on time. Make sure when you book your reservation you know to add at least 30+ minutes to wait to get to the Teppan-Yaki table. This has been the case on 3 separate occasions. Our server hardly paid attention to us and they “ran out” of dessert and were going to not say anything about it. We had to ask where it was for her to acknowledge anything. Would have appreciated a “sorry we ran out of dessert” when we got the check instead of us having to address it. You pay for it, don’t just glaze over it. Our chef was awesome and the best part of the night. He made everyone laugh and cooked the food perfectly.
Great food and portions for the price! Sushi menu is awesome. Definitely would return.
It took one hour to get our food
The food was excellent from beginning to end as well as the wonderful service that we received. Thank you for making our Christmas celebration so much fun and special.
Food is terrific... Still looks like they are getting their act together on service.. think they were short on teppanyaki cooks and wait staff the night we were there
Great! My favorite eatery
Service was extremely slow. Our meals came out at completely different times and also very slow. Our waitress never came back to check on us l, fill up water, or even to our our order in we had to flag her down for all of these things. Really disappointed in service. Food was good but very poor service
Fun dining experience! Great for a date, just not exactly what I’d call romantic, sitting at a table with a bunch of strangers 😅 overall great experience with delicious food!
Fun birthday dinner with family
I hope they were down a worker or something because the service was the worst I've ever had, and I'm really not trying to bash them. We've been there once before and it wasn't like this. As soon as we sat down the waitress was yelling at us asking what we wanted, then came back again yelling maybe two minutes later. We felt forced to order what we loosely discussed. About fifteen minutes later she asks if we want to order more (first food hadn't arrived yet) so we ordered another roll. About 20 minutes later, that one was brought to us. Then after five minutes the original order arrived. The food was great, but took long to get to the table and it was brought by the chef not the waitress. The waitress completely abandoned us. I had one glass of water all night. Not once was I offered a refill. Not once were we asked how things were. Not once were we asked if we need anything. We had to shout down our waitress as she ran past us to get a bill.
The food was great, but took a very long time, and the service was literally non-existant. I won't return, there are plenty other sushi options around and this was the worst dinner experience I've had in two years living in Scottsdale.
We loved our cook and server but really felt they were under staffed for our group of 12. Also was disappointed with wine list, couldn’t believe a restaurant in old town scottsdale didn’t have More to offer in bottles of wine and only offered average wine of half bottles. Made us really miss Sapporo in north scottsdale and the old days when Kyoto was the place to go. Not sure what happened ...
