Kyma - Roslyn
Kyma’s airy, whitewashed wood design balanced by European stucco, evoke the stylized spirit of the Greek Islands. Generous seating at long white wooden tables are lined with plush, white canvas cushions. More intimate tables also dot the larger dining room. A sleek, oval bar separates the dining room from the lounge area. Here you will have your choice of standing cocktail banquettes, bar and lounge style seating. Our resident DJ will keep the energy high in this fun social spot inside Kyma. In the warmer months an adjacent open-air outdoor patio is perfect for al fresco dining with views of the quaint village of Roslyn.
Always a pleasure to dine at Kyma! Great staff! Great Food! Great Atmosphere! Can't wait to go back!
Even with reservations we had to wait 45min for a table. But other than that, we had a nice time. Food is great.
Our waiter Phil was outstanding. The noise level made it impossible to hear the person across from me. The fish was very fresh and delicious. The prices were very high, with most appetizers costing more than $20 each. This place used to be less expensive, but they must have raised prices since my last visit.
As usual, our dinner was fantastic. Great service. Always a most enjoyable experience.
Lovely restaurant, very noisy, food delicious, little pricy.
A table for six was so tight we asked to be moved. Sea bass had so many bones it was inedible. The scene on a Saturday night was alive and loud and tight.
My favorite restaurant on long island. The products used can not be beat- I never mind spending the money if it's worth it. Wonderful waiter from Cyprus who I think invited us to their wedding, and I think he may be coming to ours haha
Always a great meal! Took my mom for her 82nd Birthday. She loved it. My wife and I had been there for dinner a couple of times and loved so we tried brunch!! Food and service were both exceptional!!
Without a doubt... best Restaurant on Long Island !!
The Grilled Lobster and Zucchini Chips are a must
Make sure you save room for Dessert !
Always fresh and delicious
Service was very attentive. Pompano was incredible. Special that night was stuffed eggplant which was delicious. Wish they had that on the regular menu
The food was not very special. It felt like the waiter was rushing us. Very noisy and crowded.
Over priced for a Long Island restaurant.
Would not try it again.
Server was great. Food was in a timely quick manner. Complimentary porsecco for our anniversary. Very kind of them. Thank you!
Probably the best meal I've had on Long Island if not anywhere. The menu is a refreshing blend of artful detail and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The stack of eggplant/zucchini chips defies logic. It should have fed 4 people, but we couldn't stop eating it so the two of us made it disappear. I can't recommend it enough!
The menu was so packed with choices we didn't even listen for specials. My husband had the sole which indescribably delicious and I had shrimp with tomatoes and I couldn't get enough of it. The portion sizes are perfect. We needed a midweek pick-me-up and Kyma served us well. If you need a vacation, one meal at Kyma will satiate you until you have time for the real thing. It's not t o be missed!
Great meal. Good service. Pricey. Very good overall.
One of the best restaurants around here, delicious food and friendliest staff!!
Always enjoy our meal, never disappoints!!
Birthday dinner was very special.
Loved Kyma's casual luxe decor. Pricey but in my view totally worth it. Started off with lychee and pomegranate martinis. Well chilled and served straight up in large glasses. Shared 2 apps, first one Kyma chips, a vertical stack of lightly fried zucchini set off by a cup of tangy tzaziki. Octopus app was tender and luscious, charcoal broiled and dotted with colorful veggies. I chose shrimp saganaki as a main, huge shrimp swimming in a fragrant tomato sauce with feta. Hubbie had the lamb chops which were charcoal grilled to perfection. Mains come with a side dish each, I got rice pilaf which was fluffy and light. Hub's fries were crispy, plentiful and lightly spiced. We were stuffed by then so opted to pack up some of our food to save room for dessert. Our server Clifford recommended the cheesecake with sour cherries, a special that night, and boy did he hit the mark! A large slice of creamy yumminess to share, not too sweet and heavenly. Small cups of sweet potent Greek coffee ended the wonderful evening.
The food was great. It’s was very cold and noisy.
This is a very popular and expensive restaurant. We found the food very good and service good. Some gripes... They charge for grilled fish about $38. I almost choked when I saw mousaka for $33! (I think everytime someone orders this there is a Greek guy in Astoria passing out!) I ordered the sangria and had to return it. It appears for $16 they don't make it to order. I think the fruit sitting in it or something made the drink bitter. The other drink at the table was good. I also guess they were too busy to read the notes on the reservation about a putting any desert in a candle for a 60th B-day celebration. I did not want to leave the table to ask which is why it was in the notes. I have done this before and it always worked. Expect to spend at a minimum here $200 with a drink or go to Astoria to a top end place and spend about half.
Delicious food, tasty cocktails & attentive service! Dont miss the sesame feta or langostinos...amazing! My husband also tried pompano for the first time and enjoyed it very much. Great fresh seafood selection along with Greek specialties done with a twist. Our new favorite!
We were still eating at 8:00 when it began to get really loud ( hard to hear those at your own table)— at which point the majority of the patrons began to look like they were in commercials for plastic surgery- started to feel uncomfortable
We had a reservation for 4 people at 7:30 PM. 2 of us arrived at 7:20 PM and 2 arrived at 7:25 PM. We were not seated until 8PM. The manager expressed his regrets but didn’t offer any compensation- not a cup of coffee or dessert “on the house”. Service was overall good but our coffees arrived after we had already eaten dessert. On our way out, the waiter walked toward us to say that the manager sent us free after dinner drinks. Really too little too late- we had paid our bill and had our coats on!!!
The food was quite good as it has always been. This was our forst negative service experience at Kyma
Excellent as usual
Absolutely terrible. Would not recommend to ANYONE looking for a romantic dinner. Long story short I made my reservation for 2 months ago for Valentine’s Day at 8pm. I was very excited given the fact that I know multiple people that have been to Kyma and have told me nothing but great things. Boy were they wrong.
Not only was techno music BLASTING making it seem like a club, but the restaurant clearly overbooked, so my fiancé and I were waiting over 45 minutes to be seated. It was hectic, crazy, and unorganized. I would not recommend Kyma to anyone looking for a romantic setting with their loved one. A casual date, maybe. Other than that, STAY AWAY.
Valentines - nice touch with the strawberry dessert and handing out a rose (the actual rose itself was a very nice rose and yes people notice and remember that you did this for your loyal customers so thanks). Please do it again. Waiter was excellent too.
Excellent food, excellent waitstaff. Looking forward to another great meal there in the near future.
The Kyma. Chips were greasy and the greens were over cooked
and inedible. I was disappointed as I have recommended and eaten at Kyma several times with a very different food experience.
Great meal!! Food and service exceptional!!
Great dinner from beautiful entrance and greeting. Restaurant is just lovely. We ate the eggplant and zucchini chips to start. Then the tomato feta salad(so fresh!) and the lamb chops like I never had before. Delish! I read in the reviews to try the cheesecake. Knowing I’ll only have a bite and bring it home for my son we told waiter to pack it to go but bring a fork. He said that he would like to present it to us first then gladly pack it after we try.... we’ll oh boy... so amazing! I had more then 1 bite but did still take back home and my son loved it too. The evening was perfect. The food, ambiance, service and cocktails. Highly recommend! Glad we live nearby. We will be back soon.
Food was delicious. Service was good but felt a bit rushed. Noise level high. Love the ambiance
Consistently one of the best
Always amazing service and food. Very consistent, never a disappointment
Amazing! Delicious! Great service. Highly recommend it!
Awkward check in, my friend was waiting at the bar and I was at the desk for 20min. Table service was perfect and the food amazing!
Fantastic meal. I haven’t been back for years because the quality had declines but this time it exceeded my expectations. Servers were fantastic, good cocktails prepared well, delicious food.
Very cold outdoors that night and warm and comfortable indoors- tasty soirée
Best octopus , fried zucchini and eggplant chips and tomato and feta salad. We had a whole fish which was stunning and lamb chops were beautiful Reno and his staff are great
Great food!! Demitrios the bartender was very friendly and made awesome drinks.
Loved our dinner! Salad has the freshest ingredients, pair that with the hot pita bread...and you know the rest has to be great. The shrimp saganaki is a new favorite of mine and the couscous was so fresh and delicious. Everyone loved their meal...and save room for the cheesecake !! The best evening...
one of my favorites!
