We went there for brunch on a Sunday for my birthday. Prior to making my reservation I called and asked if they play music indoor and outdoor and was told they do. Actually they do not, music is only indoors and you can hardly hear it outdoors. If the outdoor area is full, like it was that day, all you hear is people talking.
They do offer $20 bottomless brunch for only 90 minutes, which we chose, but we had to pretty much flag down the waiter each time for a refill. Other tables were getting a carafe and we didn't get one so we had to request one to have one provided. The manager actually had to serve us drinks twice due to the lack of service
We had the tuna tartar, octopus and fried cheese appetizer which were all great! My entrée was the avocado toast which I probably would not get again since the bread was so hard I couldn't even cut through it. I would make the entire table shake and was basically fighting with the bread and the bread won.
My friends ordered the chicken & waffles and the salmon benedict which they did like.
They do have heat lamps outdoors in case it is cold which it was a bit breezy that day and a table wasn't available under the tent
Overall price wise it was reasonable and I would return to try their dinner menu and when they have their famous brunch parties again.
Thank you so much for the review. I will def look into the service issue as always staff for every day! As for the music the speaker outside, I do apologize as the speaker went out on Saturday night and was fixed monday morning! please contact when you come back to experience Kyma again! thank you.
Very cute! I liked the decor and the Greek/Med. music playing - was not overdone/cheesy. It was a genuine experience! Great staff and food!
For the limitations of outdoor dining a very nice experience
Amazing first experience at Kyma. Freshest seafood in NYC. Delicious cocktails, and great service!
Made a reservation on open table. Arrived at the restaurant and it was closed. Please make sure opentable is accurate. Ruined our evening.
Happy to see the outdoor patio open... the usual great food, outstsnding wine and superior service, in a European Cafe atmosphere.
LOVE going to Kyma!
The dining experience and food is amazing! With only outdoor seating allowed they have transformed the outside into a beautiful Greece ambiance!
Love and highly recommend!
Had a great night at Kyma! Their outdoor area is so pretty and they had a DJ! If you want to forget You are in the middle of a
Pandemic for a little you need to go!!
Kyma did a good job in making their outdoor dining welcoming, attractive and comfortable. Food was excellent. Service was mediocre but that might have been because it looked as if they were short-handed. When we complained to the manager the problem was quickly resolved and he apologized with some comps. The DJ added to the Greek ambiance but much too loud if you're trying to have a conversation. Still, I wouldn't hesitate to return. I'd just make sure I was as far away from the music as possible.
we had lunch
fix price -very good
Wonderful. Great food. Great service. Helpful waitrr
We enjoyed everything- especially the food!!
Waited over an hour for our table
Table was available 45 minutes after reservation time.
First time dining at Kyma and certainly will not be the last. The food was outstanding, the wait staff very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere very inviting and alive. I had tuna tartare and Bronzino. Both done perfectly. I would absolutely recommend the restaurant. If you like good Greek food give Kyma a try. You won’t be disappointed.
The Brussels sprout salad is to die for-so fresh & delicious. Salmon was great as well!
Have been to Kyma a few times with more success, but this week was quite disappointing. Staff are courteous and service is prompt. The octopus was bone dry, tough, and a little fishy. Other entrees were also not up to freshness and quality levels I'd expect. And the bill, albeit with two bottles of moderately priced Greek wine, was excessively expensive (shocked me).
The music was so loud that we couldn’t hear the person next to us. We left after our apps
Tomato salad and shrimp/feta pasta lunch entree were excellent. Only complaint would be the hostess. She was not very friendly.
Great lunch pre-fix
It was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. The experience was poor because of being so warm all of dinner. We spoke with staff and they were very nice and opened the door for a couple of minutes but then would close it and we’d be hot again. They did this a couple of times but we would feel a breeze for a couple of minutes and then the entire time we were sweating and felt like we were going to pass out. I ordered steak well done and it came back with a lot of pink. I sent it back and then it came back with pink again. I sent it back and it was still pink. So they got me a salad instead. Then they didn’t do anything for us and so I asked and the waiter checked with management and said that he took the steak off (of course you took the steak off- I didn’t eat it and you exchanged it) and he took the salad off. So basically we just got the salad taken off and that really didn’t make us feel better for the hours of discomfort and food error.
So delicious, fun and the service was amazing! 10/10 would recommend for a fun brunch or event
We weren't seated until 40 minutes after our reservation time. Really infuriating.
I recently went to the amazing Sunday brunch and brought my best friends back for dinner. Each of us tried a recommended drink: the Fig Martini, Kymatini, St George Greek wine. The servers are exceptional, seating is comfortable, and every single dish is spectacular. We had grilled octopus, beet salad, grilled calamari, sesame feta, Kyma chips , saganaki, Brussels sprouts, and desserts. All of my friends were so impressed. We booked a Sunday brunch, and we will be back. A lot!
My Valentines day table supposed to be ready at 8:45pm, but I got it 9:10pm. Their service and food were really horrible.
My wife And I went for Valentine’s Day dinner. The service did not exist. The fish was very good but my wife sent hers Back due to bones. Even though the food was good the service was not. The manager did make things right by us and I would like to see how it is on a regular operating night.
Not the kyma we paid for. Went there for Valentines day, seated in basement. apps were fine, mains were not of an acceptable standard, Lamb was 3 small pieces with only potatoes, nothing else on the plate. lobster pasta was served with a old lobster head and tail as decoration, came out cold and was bland.
We have been to this place many times, and were beyond disappointed with the experience
Excellent service and food
$30+ shrimp main course came with only 3 shrimp.
I absolutely loved my experience here however I wish open table mentioned that their ovens are shut down until 4:30pm - my friend and I went there at 3:15 and they were only serving happy hour. However the calamari, spanakopita, spicy feta, hummus, eggplant dip and bread were so outstanding that my friend and I will definitely return for dinner.
Attractive restaurant, food was very good. Loved the Brussels sprout salad. Salmon was excellent. My friend had the soup with a long name, she thought it was a little salty but would come again to try another time.
Too long of a wait. Music too loud.
It was a birthday celebration.
Had the best time celebrating my birthday here during the Sunday brunch party. The drinks were good, the appetizers were great, great music- we were dancing the entire time. Really great vibe here. The waiters who helped us were awesome! They were super attentive but also fun! I don't remember their names.. 1 male and 1 female waiter ( 1:30 reservation under Jennie Rose) but a huge thank you to them! The only negative is that we didn't love our entrees, the appetizers were really good though- not sure what went wrong. But will definitely return for another brunch party. It was the perfect memorable 30th birthday celebration. Now I need to book a trip to Greece!
It was great from beginning to end. Amazing service, delicious food, hype vibe
Fun restaurant for a night out! Overall I'd recommend.
PROS: Food was good; lots of options for sharing, etc.; energetic "clubby" vibe (there's a DJ on weekends!); large tables for big parties; our waitress was incredibly sweet!
CONS: Had to wait 20 - 25 mins for our reservation (we were on time); cocktails were okay, not sure the bartenders know how to make a martini; music was a little defeaning toward the end
The food was OK though a bit expensive
The food was phenomenal & the service was great.
