Foods were like fusion style but taste was good! I was just surprised about a size of potions are very small even I am Japanese. Sushi was very small. We spent over 200 dollar though we were still hungry. lol
I felt Kuu is expensive and I’d like to come here with my boss.
I know a Japanese restaurant where is good quality and more appropriate price, so I don’t use this restaurant even special occasions.
Continues to fire on all cylinders. Excellent food and cocktails. Service varies from excellent to just good. Haven’t ever had a bad experience but certainly some have been better than others.
Kuu never disappoints. Service was a bit off this time but the menu is superb. Most rolls have a distinct style but the menu is quite diverse. Not cheap by any means but you get high quality sushi.
Fabulous food and outstanding service! Such a fun place for dinner with my grandsons celebrating high school graduation. They love this restaurant!
Really good food, absolutely amazing. A bit expensive.
As always, the service, food, and wine were outstanding. Delicious new dishes have been added recently. The staff made a special occasion even more amazing.
Great food and great service! Kuu is our go-to place for fine sushi. Highly recommended.
One of my favorite sushi places in Houston. Great food as well as great service.
Great atmosphere, excellent sushi rolls and our service was outstanding!
Great and unique rolls! Delicious! Will definitely go back!
Love KUU. Unfortunately on this occasion I had a very nice. It Very inexperienced waitress.
Very small portions and high prices. The very small portions are fir “tasting” several dishes but that ends up costing a lot!
Fresh taste, different from the run if the mill sushi restaurant, nice feel/atmosphere, casual, nice not to be surrounded by shorts and t-shirts on a Saturday night dinner. After the food, the best was the violin music, yes, violin ...contemporary live dinner music, totally loved it.
Awesome as always! Does not disappoint to deliever consistent food and service. High recommend.
Absolutely amazing! We have been to KUU many times and it never disappoints! We usually go for the Omakase, so we get the best and freshest fish etc... Yesterday I caught up with a friend I hadn't seen in years and we ordered the Omakase, so we could chat and eat for a few hours! It was fabulous! Great sashimi and sushi with their different fresh fish of the day, the fish melts in your mouth, it's heaven! Also the hot dishes were fantastic: the nabe and the lamb chop with foie gras on top were amazing! We took our time and sat there for 3 hours. Our server was great, patient and never gave us the feeling we had to rush or leave! We are so happy to have KUU in our area and we feel it's not worth it to drive all the way to Uchi or Nobu for a more expensive and less great experience than KUU!
Always very good. Just know that it is expensive.
Amazing rolls. Amazing service. Wonderful quality.
Our favorite Japanese restaurant. The service, food, and wine are all outstanding.
Complex mix of flavors make for such a special treat. Really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu (at least what we’ve tried)
Don’t be afraid to ask staff for recommendations or venture to create your own mix. Highly recommend trying one item from each section on the menu.
Kuu was amazing as always. One of my favorite restaurants in Houston
Great place and Amazing food. Best sushi in Houston. Amazing
As usual Kuu delivers good food and good service.
One of Houston’s top sushi restaurants. Complex and subtle flavors. All items expertly prepared. Elegant ambiance perfect from everything from dates to business meetings.
I havent been to this restaurant in a while. It is still excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious and innovative. Beautiful fresh fish. The black cod is a stand out - we loved it so much we ordered a second round. Superb, attentive service. A little loud, if you're looking for something quiet - but we thought it had a nice buzz. It is expensive - about $100/pp including 2 rounds of drinks. Worth every penny.
One of my favorite sushi places! Love the food. It's fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. I bring someone new with me every time and they say it's 'spectacular'! I tend to agree.
We had a great experience at Kuu! Our waitress was very friendly and made some great suggestions for our first time there! We enjoyed everything about dinner and can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu!
Service is great food is good. Wonderful place to be
Lovely place with excellent food, well worth the trip from the inner city, just expensive
Do go for the Omakase, I have been to this restaurant multiple times and ordering the omakase has always been a great call... my last visit was on Feb 14, and service war rather patchy / slow, but nothing beyond what you would expect on these type of (silly) national-marketing exercises 🤷🏻♂️
My wife and I went for Valentine’s Day. Long story short halfway through the dinner we decided to eat Buffalo Wild Wings. Took 25 minutes after sitting before the hostess realized she did not assign a server to us. We sat outside because the table they were giving us was right next to the speaker of a loud/poor keyboard player. Asked several times to turn heaters on but it never happened. We opted for the chefs choice dinner ($120 each person). First course took 15 minutes and the 2nd course arrived before we were halfway through the first. Third course took 30 minutes. Mind you everything we’re eating doesn’t require cooking. We told the server who was wonderful that we were just going to leave. Asked her to inform management that this was a very poor experience. We see her tell the manager and watch the manager literally shrug then walk away. This place is like the VStar sushi buffet if they tried their hand at finer dining. Save your money and go to Nobu. Hell even Subway.
It's amazing how much smaller the sushimi pieces are and twice as expensive as other restauranta around town with the same quality. The rolls were very trendy, but more really worth the calories.
Beautiful decoration and pleasant ambiance. I think it is overpriced for the portion size. Overall a good experience.
We’ve been here before and really like the food. We decided to celebrate valentines a day early to avoid the craziness. Unfortunately the service was not the best. The waiter was very nice and did his best, but that particular day they were understaffed and we waited a very long time for everything. I’m pretty sure it was just that day.. although they didn’t do anything to make up for all the wait so that little detail should have been better at least. The manager at some point even interrupted the waiter while we were talking to him and didn’t even excuse himself. So that was not great either.
The Waitress was amazing. We enjoyed our dining experience.
Great food, drinks and service. Portion sizes were quite small so not a place to dine if you're starving. Still, great experience overall.
My family and I loved the atmosphere and the food. Only thing I can complain about was how small the portion of food was and the price.
Food is always fantastic. Service was unusually slow.
Kuu never disappoints. We have been there many times and always enjoy the delicious food and wonderful service.
Excellent food. Best sushi we are had! We will surely come back.
Poseidon sushi was out of this world.
Kuu was an awesome experience. We did the Chef's tasting (Omakase) which was perfect. We got a variety of sushi, sashimi in addition to Wagyu beef and some other non-sushi dishes. I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an evening of fine sushi dining.
