The food, the flavors and the menu were exciting. And once we figured out that we had to place our order online, after that unsuccessfully waiting for someone to take our order, we did not have to wait long for the dishes. But there is no ‘ambience’ or ‘service’ or whatever you want to call it, and it was quite cold inside the restaurant. On a cold evening in San Jose, we had to keep our jackets on.

The food was good. The only thing that would have made it better was if my food (the beef with noodles and sauce) was hot/warm instead of cold. I also was expecting more of a thicker sauce on the food instead of liquid under the food. Portions were generous. The menus weren't very nice and it was hard to read prices; perhaps we would have ordered differently if we realized the prices, because it ended up being a very expensive meal.

I love trying new restaurants that offer authentic ethnic food. Kusan is nothing fancy and had a homey, comfortable feel. The food was fresh and awesome. I had the Gluten-free plate and my friend the Vegetarian. Both were delicious and great value for the price. My only negative feedback is the chicken in my dish was on the bone which had been cut leaving a ton of bone slivers in the chicken rendering it virtually impossible to eat. Which is a shame b/c the dish was flavorful and yummy.
