Kurt's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Their appetizers and wines were ok for the price but the recommended duck dish wasn't good at all. The texture of the duck skin wasn't crispy. It was too mushy. Also the duck smell was too strong. I am not sure why the duck dish was on their special list. I'd not recommend the duck dish.
Daughter and son in law were taking my wife and I out for a belated Christmas present. We had been to the old location awhile back and somewhat familiar with the menu. Service was excellent and food served quickly and fresh from the kitchen. Was a Monday (holiday) and moderately busy for that day of the week. Would recommend and we'll hope to get back sooner than later.
We went for NYE, and were seated promptly when we got there for our reservation at 8:30. Limited selection menu, which we new about.
Pros: Service was regular, water was kept refilled, steak was pretty good; dessert was good.
Cons: Our table for two was about 12 inches from the next table for two, which was the same distance from the next one so we were basically sharing our table, even though there were other tables/booths available in the restaurant. I heard every word of our neighbor's entire conversation for 90 minutes. Food was just ok to good. Lobster bisque was bland. Fried lobster tail was pretty greasy. Salad was ok. No plain beer options, just German beer, which I am not a particular fan of.
Delicious! We went to Kurt's Bistro for New Year's Eve. The menu was "limited" but still provided ample choices. Food was wonderful- best Petit Filet and Fried Lobster Tail anywhere-- hands down! Service was EXCELLENT! Relaxed, private seating good for conversation. I highly recommend.
My wife and I love Kurt's! It is always delicious food and ambiance. We have been going there for 30 years, through thick and thin. We first started going for Porsche Club meetings and it was great then, too, but the new location is especially nice, more homey and intimate than even the original house . The steaks and Sea Bass are exceptional and my wife loves the wiener schnitzel as well as the fresh baked bread, sauerkraut and marinated red cabbage. The Banana Foster is the perfect size for two people and Kurt himself prepares it right at your table accompanied by a huge bonfire! By the time you leave, you feel like you have dined in one of the finest restaurants in Germany. Everything is authentically prepared to perfection!
Fantastic, authentic German food. So many great things on the menu that it is always difficult to decide what to get. I recommend the Potato Pancakes, Spaetzle Black Forest, Kassler Ripchen (pork chop) and the Prime Strip Steak which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. And for dessert, the Bananas Foster is divine; Kurt himself made it for us table-side.
Kurt’s is right around the corner and frequently have dinner there. The food is ALWAYS good. And that includes all food. The steaks are as good as a good steakhouse if not better. The pretzels are very good. The Bananas Foster made right at your table is excellent. Go on over and have dinner. You’ll love it.
We were reconnecting with some old friends and had not been to Kurts in over 20 years. Although it's in a different location the food and service are still as wonderful as we remembered. The wine list was good and not marked up too much. They also had an Octoberfest beer on tap. The schnitzel was outstanding as well as the spatzle. We definitely will be back!
Service was great, however, my husband ordered the thick cut Veal Chop medium and it was completely raw in the middle. He had to send it back and I was almost done with my meal by the time he got it back.
For the price the veal chop cost you would think it would have been cooked the way it was ordered.
