Kurt's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic, authentic German food. So many great things on the menu that it is always difficult to decide what to get. I recommend the Potato Pancakes, Spaetzle Black Forest, Kassler Ripchen (pork chop) and the Prime Strip Steak which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. And for dessert, the Bananas Foster is divine; Kurt himself made it for us table-side.
Kurt’s is right around the corner and frequently have dinner there. The food is ALWAYS good. And that includes all food. The steaks are as good as a good steakhouse if not better. The pretzels are very good. The Bananas Foster made right at your table is excellent. Go on over and have dinner. You’ll love it.
We were reconnecting with some old friends and had not been to Kurts in over 20 years. Although it's in a different location the food and service are still as wonderful as we remembered. The wine list was good and not marked up too much. They also had an Octoberfest beer on tap. The schnitzel was outstanding as well as the spatzle. We definitely will be back!
Service was great, however, my husband ordered the thick cut Veal Chop medium and it was completely raw in the middle. He had to send it back and I was almost done with my meal by the time he got it back.
For the price the veal chop cost you would think it would have been cooked the way it was ordered.
I've been to Kurt's at least ten times and have never been disappointed. The Smoked Mountain Trout appetizer is outstanding. The German Beers are awesome. The menu variety is great. Save room for Kurt's Bananas Foster - I mean literally Kurt's - he still comes and cooks it table side for you! The best.
We were there to enjoy the Octoberfest music and partake of the fun in the biergarten area. We hadn't been in years and were so glad to find everything was wonderful just as it was years back. We will be going more often now that we have rekindled that feeling of German togetherness and wonderful German food.
Sure enjoyed the Bavarian Duo music on October 6th and talked to many people all around us who were all enjoying. It was a good feeling all night long.
Kurt's is a great authentic German restaurant with some of the best traditional dishes around. The beer selection is good, too. The restaurant is quaint and not too stuffy. We miss German fare, having traveled/lived there. Our kids love German food, though I wouldn't say they accommodate children much - there is no kid menu. It doesn't stop us though!
The owner's son and first chef personally seated us at a perfect table. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the Bavarian band and Oktoberfest menu. I ordered a liter of their best Oktoberfest beer. The owners visited our table to wish us well. We even had a great conversation with the folks setting adjacent to our table.
The appetizers and dinner were also well received - try the pretzel with three dipping sauces for an inexpensive, creative dish.
This evening just could not have gone better!
I was referred to this restaurant by a friend of mine who knows that I love German food I spent three years in Germany during the military this is a great place I will be coming back quite often especially with the outdoor patio entertainment more beer more beer like it
We had a very good experience yet again! We had the Charcuteries and Pretzel for starters. Nice combination. I had the Schwabian Platter, with the bratwurst and smoked pork chop. Delicious! Around the table: Burgundy Snails, Spaetzle Black Forest, Chicken Scallopini, Jaegerschnitzel. And the desserts. Wow! Good thing there was a wheel barrow available to roll us out of there.
We made a reservation & were there on time, but the hostess didn't acknowledge us until we had been waiting a few minutes and more people crushed in behind us. Never smiled once while greeting us and seemed downright surly. Service was a bit slow. Potato pancakes were burned (2 out of 3 of them). Glass of wine was expensive and they only had bottled iced tea, which was also pricey for one glass of tea. Entrees were good, but $5 for a little spinach on the side seemed ridiculous. Parking is difficult because the lot is tiny.
We were there for a Birthday celebration. As always the food was good but the menu had changed and many favorites had become a la carte items, hard to find selections . Service was slow starting but good as the evening went on. The table next to us was a foursome of elderly patrons that got pretty loud ,surprisingly . Overall a good evening but things had definitely changed.
