Kuro - Hard Rock Hotel and Casino - Atlantic City
Dinner before Keith Urban concert, and my wife’s birthday. Food excellent will be back .
First off, the service was incredible. Our waiter was attentive and offered great suggestions as well as provided detailed descriptions of menu items we were unsure about. The food I would describe as a twist on japanese with some elements we haven't seen before. The waygu nigiri was incredible and easily my favorite part of the meal. We look forward to returning in the future.
Everything was excellent. The food, service and atmosphere is wonderful!
We didn’t see a waiter for 10 minutes, food is OK, if you’re on a diet. Small portions
Everything was fantastic
We've been here several times. The sushi sampler was outstanding. The fish was extremely fresh and they offer much more unique choices than other local restaurants. The presentation is beautiful.
For our table of four, we shared the Wagyu beef (one of my faves), pork belly (a little over done), shrimp tempura, lobster tempura, live eel and corn.
Drink selection is good. Our server was friendly and made helpful recommendations.
Excellent food! So many different types of Asian food and all taste wonderful!
Service and food were great. Portions are a little small and need some sides with the dinner. Have to order everything a-la-carte. Could use a veggie with the fish when served. Tacos were amazing. Had to order another order of them. They were my favorite off everything we ordered. Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Drinks were exotic and really really good. Drink had pineapple and basil with a crushed ice. Very different and we enjoyed them. Quiet Thursday night but I'm sure it would be very busy on a weekend. Had a nice quiet meal. Service was excellent and everyone made sure you were happy and checked on you frequently. I would definitely go back again.
I took my husband for his 65th birthday as he likes Sushi. The restaurant has a serene feel to it and is very relaxing. The table was set up with nicely. My husband has the Sushi which he liked very much. I had the Miso Steak with Asparagus which was outstanding. The steak was like butter and the sauce complimented it well. We also ordered Tempura Shrimp which did not come until we asked our waiter who claimed we did not order it. In any case once he bought it the batter was excellent and you get a nice amount of shrimp. I told the waiter it was my husbands birthday and he stated there would be something special brought out which turned out to be my desert with a Happy Birthday in chocolate on the front. The desert, a hazelnut Chocolate cake was outstanding. One complaint I do have is with the service. Don't get me wrong I love good service however the waiter interrupted our meal to ask how everything was, did we need anything, etc. many times that it was getting annoying. He was a nice person and all however it was a bit much. This was our second time to Kuro and we will be back. Note the booths are more intimate then the tables. Staff are all very nice. Not this is not a cheap restaurant. For two people you could easily top $200.00
Best sushi I’ve ever had
Although our server was very nice, service was inattentive and very slow to the very end. After 15 minutes of requesting out check, we had to ask someone else to get it as we had a show to make ( which he knew). It was early and not crowded so there was to excuse for this.
I was underwhelmed for my anniversary dinner. We decided to eat tapas style and try a bunch of items. We started with Green goddess salad which was more of a coleslaw which wasn’t explained to us and just ok. The chilled oysters were minuscule but tasty. The waiter recommended crispy white fish which was just fish and chips without the chips and nothing exciting. They were out of the Sea-bass Nori so we ordered Wagu grill. The 9.00 bite was delicious but 1 stick was only 1 bite. The spicy salmon roll and tuna avocado roll were very good. We ended with the donuts which were good but not amazing. We asked the waiter to help us course out our meal and make suggestions. We asked if there was a tasting menu prepared by the chef and told no.
The hostess wished us a happy anniversary but the waiter either wasn’t informed or didn’t say anything. I’ve never been to an upscale restaurant that didn’t either send a dessert or write happy anniversary in icing on the dessert or add a candle to the dessert we ordered. Nada.
My expectations were high and the meal was a bit of a disappointment.
Follow up: I was contacted by Emily the GM and she made it right. We will give the restaurant a second chance.
Very overpriced and though some things were very good, other items were average
We really enjoyed Kuro, had dinner there before Lionel Richie Show. Server was excellent and all her suggestions were so good. We had a series of small plates. The wagu tacos, beef negima, shrimp tempura and the avocado dish
were all excellent. It’s a busy spot but runs very efficiently. Really enjoyable meal!!
Food and service were superb. Try the wagyu beef tacos, miso glazed Chilean sea bass, and crispy Brussel sprouts. Sooo good!!!!!
Great food great experience .. reservations definitely needed on weekends !
Great food. Highly recommend. Stay away from the seafood spicy soup. Everything else, Shishito's, grilled Shrimp, Hamachi app and spicy tuna on sticky rice were great
Food, service and value were all outstanding!! definitely recommend!
Great food and customer service.
Second time at Kuro and it was amazing
Service, Food and ambiance
A true gem
Unbelievable Japanese food!!!
The restaurant is beautiful and the food was incredible. We tried several dishes and they were all amazing. I really liked the tapas style approach that Kuros uses, so we were able to share everything. Service was great too and the prices were reasonable. Definitely would go back again.
We loved the 5 question and menu pick from ELIZABETH!
She was teriific with wonderful selections!
We will come back and ask for Elizabeth
We ordered food at 6:40pm, informed waiter of a food allergy and a concert to be at. Appetizers came out and shortly after, then one order of sushi and then nothing. The rest of o
Unfortunately terrible service beats all. Took 30 minutes before our first and only round of drinks came. Another 20 minutes for food to start arriving. Overall my wife and I were there for 1.5 Hours and server visited 2x. Luckily management clearly noticed and helped out (as multiple tables were experiencing the same problem). We had tickets to a show and had to leave and simply asked to cash us out. We didnt even get everything that was ordered. Very unfortunate bc what we did receive was delicious and seemed like a great restaurant.
Service was AWFUL. Sat at 6:15, told hostess we had 8pm show to attend, waiter was fairly prompt and took drink orders (all non alcoholic). 7:00 still no drinks. 7:15 some appetizers are out, some never came out. Entrees served to 2 of our party of 6. Called over manager- who tried to help, but the kitchen was in chaos. Other entrees trickled out. 7:50 last entrée arrived. Food was good, but service was so bad, not sure we will be back.
Elizabeth was an excellent server. Awesome food and night.
Our server was very inattentive, he was forgot a few orders, sent out a plate we did order twice, but when it came time for the check it took him 30 seconds to come back with it. We would have ordered more if he had been at the table more often but we were limited on time.
Side note, the first booth right next to the hostess stand is a horrible place to sit. I felt like i could have been playing blackjack and eating dinner simultaneously because we were so close to the casino.
Food was awesome.
Food was great, but kitchen forgot to cook one dish, it came out 40 min later, portions are very small
Our server was fantastic. She asked us five questions and created a tasting menu for us. We spent about three hours at dinner. Food was great. Tried things I wouldn’t have ordered. If you like fish the Miso glazed Chilean Sea Bass was awesome. We also did an add on of the hot stone beef. It was awesome and fun.
Tonight was my first visit at Kuro in Hard Rock and will not be my last. I've eaten at every restaurant in the casino and saved this for last. I'm disappointed I didn't try Kuro first and missed out on the amazing food. Our waitress Elizabeth was phenomenal! Her professionalism and recommendations were on point. Constantly checking on the tables making sure our glass of water was never empty, cleaning every bit of crumb off the table between dishes. Her smile made us feel welcomed. Kuro is lucky to have such a dedicated employee that will have its customers keep coming back not just for the food or atmosphere, because of her customer service. My wife and I ordered the tasting menu that had seven dishes plus two desserts (attached receipt on what we had) where the waitress (Elizabeth) asks you five simple questions on what we don't like, allergies, and etc. so that she can create the most perfect meal. EVERYTHING Elizabeth brought out for the tasting was out of this world, I honestly couldn't tell you what my favorite dish was, they were ALL THAT GOOD from the Crispy Brussels to the Pork Belly with ending the most delicious dessert Japanese Donuts and Apple Tobanyaki. My wife and I both left Kuro more than satisfied in a food coma. We are excited to plan our next visit because the food is something that will leave you dreaming about.
I highly recommend Kuro and the waitress Elizabeth to anyone visiting Atlantic City or you will be missing out on some of the best food and service you've ever had.
Dinner was amazing
Food was over the top
Service was impeccable
The manager was amazing
Cannot wait until my next visit
We were the last guest of the evening and the management and staff treated us as if we were the first guest of the day! Would highly recommend trying the Brussel sprouts and the grill items!
Staff and manager very pleasant and helpful but open table reward was a disaster
Good food. The white fish was great! The dishes are quite small.
A modern feel to both ambiance and cuisine, Kuro provided excellent service and delicious food. While portions can be extremely small, prices are not completely outrageous. A must-stop if you frequent the Hard Rock.
The food was fantastic the waitress and servers were actually excellent I want to go there again soon presentation of the food was great it was easy to find they took our reservation and seated us at a large table with the wonderful servers
Food was good. Nothing crazy. However, our service was amazing! Our waitress was really great. Super knowledgeable, energetic and attentive!!
Great food, tried it for first time as it was first time in Hard Rock. Definitely recommend it as one of the top Japanese restaurants in AC.
Great place, great service, delicious food. Our family enjoyed it very much!
Went to Kuro to celebrate one of my sister’s birthday, who haven’t been before. Was running late, but received a call from the hostess to confirm the reservation. She ensured that we were fine and our reservation was still good. This was such a relief because I was just about to call the restaurant, so it was perfect. Simei was our waitress and she was just amazing. She was very kind, patient and attentive. The food came out in a timely manner and the table was cleared as fast as we finished our dishes and ready for the next dish to come out. The food was delicious. Everything that we ordered came out just perfect. As we continued our meal it just kept tasting better and better. We order the tacos, both corn dishes, short rib, Brussels sprouts, wangling donburi, and the cucumber sunomono. This was not my first time here and I can definitely say the consistency in the taste of the food is always on point, as well as the service. For dessert the birthday girl decided on the shave ice. I thought it was going to be a decent size, but no. It was huge and enough for all four of us. This was our first time making it to dessert too. I would always be too stuffed that I never order dessert. My sister, the birthday girl, was satisfied. Actually all of us were. We definitely left in a food coma. I look forward to coming back again. Thank you Kuro!!! (Pictures do not due it justice!)
