Our story begins in Stockholm. Arriving in late March with rivers still frozen, clear blue skies, clean crisp air, amazing food, culture, design and so much innovation – this was to be the first of many trips to Scandinavia and the beginning of a beautiful journey that led us to the KuPP concept. We wanted to create a quality all day casual dining experience with a strong focus on speciality coffee and one that embraces Scandinavian design, cuisine coupled with sharing what we enjoy in the UK. KuPP. is about sharing a little of what we love about Scandinavia, proudly wrapped up in a big British blanket. KuPP is about all day casual dining – it’s a place to meet and socialise, to drink, dine, graze and share. From an early morning breakfast to a midmorning coffee, through to lunch (not forgetting afternoon coffee of course), a few cocktails as the sun goes down and a delicious dinner shared with friends and family.

What is a Smørrebrød? At their simplest, Smørrebrød are open-faced sandwiches built on a thin layer of dense bread — we use rye. Smørrebrød are traditionally eaten for lunch or FiKA all over the Nordic region. They are beautifully presented with different combinations of seafood, meat, vegetables & condiments, typically enjoyed with a cold local beer or aquavit. When KuPP first opened it was perfect, the service, the food and the hyggeligt cozy layout. It was our regular go to almost every weekend. However over the last few months we’ve noticed that the service is extremely slow, it takes ages to place an order or to pay. Some tables are offered water but other aren’t. Some tables don’t have sugar, salt and pepper and when we’ve asked the staff for sugar we were told there wasn’t any so we ended up asking guests from another table. The cleanliness is poor, there are spiderwebs which have been there for months, as well as a growing layer of dust on the lamps and dead dried up plants. The introduction of the new menu is absolutely ridiculous even confusing staff. At our last few visits regularly running out of food even beer which is unheard of. We love KuPP and really hope that this review will help to improve things and especially bringing back the hygge 😉

I love everything Scandinavian and so want this restaurant to succeed, however, although we had a lovely evening, something is not quite right. The food was nice but didn’t match the descriptions on the menu (somewhat more limited than previous visits). We had to ask for the missing elements (pickles and mayonnaise) and didn’t really get a satisfactory answer. when we requested these items. When we asked for hot drinks at the end of the meal we were informed that the machine was switched off at 4pm! The staff were pleasant and did their best to respond to our requests but seemed to lack knowledge and overall there seemed to be a lack of management....such a pity. I hope that things get back on track soon.

Went for Valentine’s meal, had reservation. Starters took over an hour to come. Individual staff were pleasant enough, but there seemed to be no experienced, competent manager on duty. The young staff said there were problems in the kitchen and suggested we could leave and find a table elsewhere (on a Valentine’s, on a Friday?). Food was good, but much too late to matter. After all the delays, we were not offered dessert or coffee, but instead presented with the bill because they wanted to close up. It was barely 10pm! No apologies, no discount or vouchers. Won’t be returning

The restuarant was very quiet and the kitchen was due to close early so as the evening progressed it became very quiet indeed. We certainly had excellent service and an extremely relaxed meal in the quiet but stylish surroundings We thank the remaining staff for looking after us so well and look forward to another visit soon.

Lovely venue, felt a bit special. Only negative was it was a little on the cold side, and I’m always warm! Great vibe, good food, beautiful venue. I’ll definitely be back.

Excellent overall, especially the food which was really good. The only reason service and ambience are not 5 star for me is that, perhaps because the place was quiet/empty, the service was a bit too ‘present’, and they started to dim the lights to close the place at 9pm, pretty much inviting us to pay our bill then. It was fine because we had pretty much finished by then, but had it not been for the not so subtle invitation to leave we might have stayed chatting for another 15mins or so.

We selected the KuPP platter to share suit was really good. Pared with a G&T it went very well. Drinks were a little slow to arrive however would still recommend.
