   Excellent food! We had the Elk and the Venison Stew this time. Both were delicious and perfectly portioned. Ch’miigwech!

   We started with the tartare trio — salmon, bison, seal. The salmon was some of the best I’ve had, but the bison was not helped by the pickle and roe, while the seal was overwhelmed by the capers, which we picked out — leaving strong, but intriguing flavors. A roasted carrot soup with tarragon and crime fraiche was a better, if more mainstream choice. Perhaps better even than the house made pemmican they had sold out of. They had also run out of the elk , even though it was on the sign when we walked in, so we both opted for the bison steak. It was outstanding— dry aged, swathed in coult fat, served with a delicious medley of root and green roasted vegetables, over smooth tasty (if dull) Yukon gold mash. The bison and the service made it a great dinner. Two glasses of surprising Niagara merlot (all the wines were Niagara)

   Wanting to try this kitchen for some time, we were excited to see the well designed Valentine prix fixe menu and booked it. The takeaways are: we would dine here again but thought the curated offerings were much too sweet to be eaten at one time (ie) two desserts and a sorbet starter (isn't sorbet a between courses palate cleanser?), even though the cold mouth was a good opener. The servers were lovely and friendly.

   It's my second time here and I loved it as much as the first! Everything tastes very fresh, not too salty, perfect amount of sauce. Seal is a must!

   This last visit was for the Valentines prix fix dinner with my beloved and 2 friends. The menu was perfectly filling and the flavours exquisite! Still basking in the memory of the pine needle sorbet and sweetgrass creme brulee. Looking forward to my next journey and whatever the current menu offerings shall be.

   Valentines dinner with my wife. Perfect. I was intrigued by the menu. Sold on the philosophy. And delighted by the service, the presentation and the flavours. I would definitely go back.
