Located in the heart of San Francisco, Krua Thai serves authentic Thai cuisine in a trendy atmosphere. The dining area is marked by contemporary furniture and intimate lighting. Krua Thai offers plenty of beer and wine options to pair with the numerous menu items. The dinner menu features popular entrees like Plummy Duck, which consists of battered duck topped with ginger plum sauce, the Sea Splash, which is a collection of prawns, calamari and scallops with colorful vegetables, and the Salmon Paradise, which is prepared with Choo Chee curry. Krua Thai also has a long list of sauteed platters, curry platters, fried rice bowls and noodle soups.
Seriously the best Thai food I've had in SF so far, and it's on par with the best Thai in LA/LBC/OC. Highly recommend.
I live local and am really regretting not going here sooner. I want to eat everything on the menu. The signature dishes are so good. Specifically the plummy duck.
Service was not great but they were clearly very understaffed on Valentine's Day, didn't bother us. Definitely going back soon.
Amazing food so authentic i would go there daily of i can
I didn't book this restaurant or eat there. I booked a different restaurant that was closed, but not according to OpenTable
I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. It was a delightful experience and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was also simply amazing. The 3 of us started with the Lychee Martini and it was delicious. I had the lunch special which was extremely reasonable. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and it came with a lovely soup, crispy egg rolls and a great salad. Colleagues ordered the Yum Beef salad that was delicious and crispy fish fillet. Everything was exceptional. Not sure why I had never been there before. It was very enjoyable and I plan to return. I have been telling everyone in my network.
Very good Thai. Best I have had in the city in the last 4 years
Service could be faster and the food needs more options on the menu.
It was great! The only thing I would mention is that even though the staff did a wonderful job accomodating us, I would say they were actually "understaffed", hence some long waits along the way. But friendly and like said, the food was great. Would definitely both recommend and go back to.
Very normal Thai. The service was great and portions generous but it was nothing special.
Food was okay, nothing special. Easy to gett in last minute on a Saturday night
We had a birthday party for 27 people at Krua Thai. The staff managed the reservation incredibly well, even adjusting the table settings at the last minute as plans evolved. Everyone there commented on the quality of the food, the service, and how enjoyable the setting was. The staff was amazingly accommodating, even with such a large group. They let nus bring our own cake and served it for us in style. I'd go back!
Mediocre food with little flavor. So many better other options around the neighborhood.
Probably the worst Thai food I've ever had. Menus were dirty and my plate was dirty. My instinct was to walk out once I saw the dirty plate, and I wish we had. The food was bland even though my curry was indicated on the menu as 3-star spicy. Date night was ruined by this crappy restaurant.
The food was well prepared and all seemed fresh. My wife noted that the prawns were fresh and definitely not overlooked. Good flavors and friendly staff.
The food was tasty, and the Sangria came in a cute wine glass. The service was a bit slow, I will try again maybe in the future to see if they were just understaffed that day.
Great Thai food here and being able to reserve on Open Table was a major convenience. This was a get together of 6 friends, a couple of whom had said they might be delayed in getting there. I knew from having dined here previously that, if one or more of the group are going to be delayed, the managers/owners here are very accommodating in allowing the rest of us to be seated at our table.
We were there on a Tuesday night, and I hadn't realized in advance that they had a special offer of 50% off all Wine and Beer. That was a very nice surprise and coupled with their already reasonably priced food it made for extremely good value.
Nothing special with that place. Very average Thai.
A really nice evening with great food. Thank you so much!
The food was excellent. Whole heartedly recommend this place if you enjoy Thai.
To experience this restaurant for the first time was enjoyable. It's a local restaurant I can walk to. The food is the ultimate winner; food presentation was good and service was fast.
But on the service side, the staff lacked personality and were a bit impersonal. It seemed like a task to get us seated. Staff should recognize if we are still having our soup dish to time the rest of the food to come out AFTER we are done so our food isn't sitting in front of us cold.
I would definitely come back and focus on the food and ignore the service as I don't expect them to change. It's a business. Serve. You. Next.
This is a good place for having an everyday lunch or dinner meal - good, clean, simple and affordable.
Ok. Nice people. Quiet. Palatable food, but nothing to write more about.
I love going to this gem everytime friends are in town or im in the mission. Great place to meet thats convenient to oublic transportation and central.
Delicious cocktails and really enjoyed my chicken Pad Thai. Also loved that that restaurant wasn't too busy during my visit!
It was our first time at this restaurant. We were looking for a place that could accommodate our party of six for an early dinner before the 6:30pm show at the Orpheum Theater on a Sunday. We ate family style and the food was excellent. We ordered a number of appetizers, papaya salad, drunken noodles, red curry, and more! We couldn't have been more pleased. The table was perfect for our larger party and the service was attentive, yet unobtrusive. The noise level allowed for conversation. Highly recommend.
Excellent value, nice ambiance. I came here on a special date, and though it's mostly casual we didn't look out of place dressed up. We had an appetizer, a soup, two entrees and polished off an entire bottle of wine and the bill was barely $50. Amazing for SF.
This was probably the most bland and gross Thai food I've ever had. The curry was super watery and not much flavor. Over all the food tasted poorly. Sooooooo many better Thai food choices in the city.
This restaurant is the biggest disappointment ever considering that I've been to Thailand number of times and I happened to know what is a good Thai food supposed to be.This place is very far from traditional Thai restaurant and Thai food. There is a very poor decor or I should say not at all, very uncomfortable seating ,tiny tables , lousy service and it's very loud .Regarding the food it 's not a place where you want to pay $10 fir a half of flash of mediocre wine and not place for a dinner or a date .Food is bland, unattractive and presented as a very small size portions. It's either too spicy or too salty. Soup was terrible and we both had a stomachache after $90.00 spent there. I would not come back there again or recommend this place to anyone. Unless you want to get sick after spending a fortune on terrible food.
We were delighted to find a restaurant in this busy, vibrant Mission neighborhood that wasn't the usual noisy bar scene. We were able to hear one another without shouting and have a real conversation. The food was very good. The presentation was lovely. Environment was simple. Service was great. Prices were very reasonable. All in all, we considered this a "find."
