We loved it. The chargrilled oysters were amazing. Calamari and Jambalaya Eggrolls were also very good. My son got the Cod Basket and hubby got the Soft-shell crab. I think eating the whole crab was weird for him but he liked the taste. I got the Soft-shell crab banh mi. Very good!! For dessert Taro Mud Pie. So yummy unlike anything else. Servings were small but it was plenty.
The oysters were FANTASTIC! Highly recommend. You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. It was all delicious and very fresh!
We attended for Sunday Brunch. The blackened cheddar shrimp and grits were perfection! The beignets are a must have, the best in DFW by far in comparison to Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. We had carafes of mimosas to top it all off and it goes without saying that we will be back!
Food and service was outstanding, and charbroiled oysters were amazing!!
25 min until waiter came to table. At 45 min sitting, entrees came with wine at same time. They never brought the oysters until we were eating our entree Manager initially made excuses but later apologized They comped a portion of bill which was nice, however, when they ran our card, they charged an additional $18.00 They were not crazy busy The hostess and manager were standing around. Food was delicious but they need to up their service Will not be visiting there again for awhile
We LOVE Krio. We had the fried calamari and popcorn shrimp for an appetizer, 12 of the raw oysters available for the day (soooo good), and then a snow crab and shrimp boil in Connie's sauce. It was amazing. OH! And must try a Miss Krio if you love taro! It is amazing!
Receptive and accommodating hostess. The waitress was attentive, informative, friendly, and prompt in her service. The Bourbon selections were thin in number. The variety of food was excellent. The appetizers were ample and tasty. Oyster’s were fresh and well presented. The grilled oysters were excellent. We did not have room for a large entree due to the size of the appetizers (we over ordered). We we return and focus on the entrees next time.
Awesome first experience at Krio. They had a bunch of gluten free options, which is always a nice treat. Highly recommend trying out this new place.
I ordered the lamb and sausage pizza. I wish I would have taken a picture.🙄 It should have been called the onion and pepper pizza. There was hardly any meat on it, and the chicken was dry and flavorless. So disappointed.
Great chargrilled oysters! Their frozen drink with sake, shouju, and lychee was refreshing and hit the spot on a hot summer evening.
Just Ok. Food didn't have enough flavor cooked into it for my preference. Boiled crawfish was not tasty. Bisque was extremely thick and bland. Calamari was good. Boiled shrimp was good.
The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the seafood boil with clams, shrimp, corn, and sausage with the one love sauce at the spice level- hot. It was succulent and had the perfect level of heat. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and will be back!
Airy, light, pleasant dining area with large patio area on two sides. Music not too loud which was wonderful. Staff friendly and attentive. Food very good! Bonus - didn't have to fight for parking on a Saturday early evening!
Consistently delicious food, served well and in large portions. Interior can be noisy, but service and styling are excellent.
Wonderful food, great service, we highly recommend and will for sure be back soon!
The food was really great. The quality is really good. You can’t fake delicate shrimp and soft shell crab.
When we first came in the staff didn’t know how to deal with my service animal. Although she was wearing a vest and I presented my ADD and am obviously disabled from how poorly I move. It took them about 15 minutes to decide whether we could eat. It was 98 outside and we were dressed in dinner attire so the suggestion we should outside wasn’t acceptable. Once I gave them a copy of the ADD guidelines. The manager came and thanked me for educating them and was as nice as could be. Was actually a big dog lover.
With so many people bringing fake service animals it is frustrating when you have a real need.
I will definitely be back. The food speaks for itself. I would eat this food in my car. The hush puppies are the real deal. The shrimp cocktail was awesome. Served with shrimp chips like in a Thai place. I wouldn’t expect them to be so good together.
Nice place, staff and good location. Lots of things to do just next door at Bishop Arts.
I really enjoyed my time at Krio. Isane (I hope I spelled it correct😬) was a great server! He offered us the date special which included a glass of wine, oysters, an app, two entrees, and a dessert for I believe $75. I ordered the snow crab bah mi and it was delicious!! I loved the creamy sauce and it was the perfect size. My date had the salmon and I wish it had more flavor. It was kind of bland. The beignets however, were so delicious!!! It was overall a really great experience and I loved the free parking. I would highly recommend.
First time at this restaurant. We were there for Sunday brunch. Service was average - not outstanding, but adequate. We ordered the umami old fashioned which was good. Wanted to try the milk punch but it was not available. We started with an order of beignets. Good, but not NOLA good. I ordered the C'Asian Omelet - egg was over done and dry. My husband ordered the breakfast bahn mi sandwich. It was very good - better than my omelet and big enough to split especially with the beignets (1 order = 3 beignets). Overall, good. I would like to try for dinner. If I went back for brunch, I would not order the omelet.
Different take on cajun that was really good and not overbearing.
Great food and great service!
This was my second visit. On the first visit, on a Saturday at 1:00, everything was wonderful. Food was great, no noise - probably due to lack of crowd and no music. This second visit on a Thursday night was not good. First, the noise, both overly loud music blaring and noisy diners coupled with no sound deadening in the building at all, made it impossible to hear anyone. So we asked and were graciously moved outside. Our waiter was great. The food, though was not cooked well, and some of it lacked any seasoning. The grilled oysters, unlike my first visit, were so charred that some oysters were entirely black and the oysters were shriveled. The papaya salad was not tasty and the fried crabs were extremely overcooked and rendered tasteless. The side order of hush puppies were without any seasoning at all - no onion, no spices, nothing. I was embarrassed at bringing my family after raving about the food from my first visit.
We throughly enjoyed the food, the decor was great and the service was top notch.
Great spot! Amazing cuisine with lots of flavor. Drinks are delicious. Must have dessert!
Very cute and delicious spot in BA. Great HH.
the food was very flavorful. i had shrimp and grits that were traditional but delicious. the sauce for the mussels was amazing! will definitely be back.
delicious. loved everything about it. from parking to atmosphere to service to tastiness of the food.
Slow greeting, service, and forgotten items.
Loved the Cajun twist!
Everything is usually amazing here but the service was not good. The food was off and the drinks were watered down. We brought a friend for the first time and is was super disappointing. We couldn't even finish our food. Super sad.
Great service! My grandparents liked their food very much. I lived in Louisiana for four years, and I think calling Krio a Cajun restaurant is a stretch. “Cajun-themed gentrified seafood bar” is how I’d describe it to a friend. I shared some jambalaya egg rolls and had the blackened shrimp cheddar grits as my entrée. My entrée was delicious. The egg rolls had surprisingly good texture, but the flavor was bland; dirty rice shouldn’t look off-white.
We wanted somewhere yummy and light before going to a concert at Dos Equis Pavilion. Krio perfectly fit the bill! We started with the delicious fried okra and all got the blackened cod or salmon with two sides and were all happy. “Blackened” is more wonderfully seasoned vs actually blackened but it was perfect level of flavor, not spicy. Hushpuppies weren’t spicy either but soo yummy! Highly recommend the okra, they were all soft and light and great for a starter. Server was great, friendly, patient to answer first timer questions and attentive. Atmosphere was clean, bright and open. We dined at 5:30 but toward the end started to fill up. Look forward to eating here again next time I’m in Dallas!
love this place best experience for my fathers on fathers day.
Overall our experience was great. We tried the Jambalaya Eggrolls for an appetizer and they were amazing. We'll definitely return to try other items on the menu.
I took my husband for Father’s Day and he loved everything especially the Chargrilled Oysters.
Beautiful decor and a delicious mix of a Asian and Cajun cuisine
yummy. the grilled oysters were the best oysters I've ever tasted. the fried shrimp were succulent. the hush puppies were moist and delicious.
Excellent service and superb food. I'll definitely be returning!
Cocktails were so fun and amazing. There were 5 different cocktails at our table and they were all delicious. The server did a great job making recommendations based on what we liked.
The food was super good. Chargrilled oysters were fantastic. We got the crawfish boil with the sauce that combines all of their sauces and it was so yummy. Pro tip- order some hush puppies to dip into the sauce. The okra was also fantastic.
Highly recommend for lunch/dinner, hang out with friends, cocktails, causal but cool food.
I love this place they are very nice people.
Krio surprised me as the food was amazing. The experience exceeded my expectations.
