    One of my favorite restaurants, I look forward to going here every time I’m in Rock Hill. I had the salmon and then returned the next day and had the shrimp and grits, both were excellent!

    The? Food was cold and tasteless. It's just as if the chef is trying too hard to be fancy with the restaurant that gives off the environment of a sandwich shop with a bar in it.

    Two out of three apps were excellent but main dishes a big disappointment. Drinks are fine but I have given Kounter 2 attempts and while it might be fine for Rock Hill, it needs a new menu. Avoid the cake plate sliders unless you like dense, tough burgers. Most likely they were frozen.

    Did not realize we were dining at a historic lunch counter until we arrived. Very enlightening to learn that this place was a pivotal spot in the civil rights movement. The adjoining museum that teaches patrons the history is fabulous. In addition to learning the sobering truth of our nations past shortcomings, the menu is outstanding at reasonable prices.

    The chef''s creativity is n full evidence again! The sauces are amazing. We had mussels on mussels with a fresh baked small loaf of bread. Amazing. Could have used two more loafs to soak up all that beautiful sauce. Next we shared the smokey tuna poke. Wonderful flavors with the infused smoke enough for a single meal but again an amazing sauce to tie it together. Main course of salmon was perfectly combined with another excellent mushroom sauce. The potato puree worked so well with the lightly smoked salmon. Two of us chose the lobster gnocchi. We were sure happy we did. The lobster was atop beautiful cheesy gnocchi that melted in your mouth. Couldn't help but finish the generous portion of gnocchi, the sauce was nicely spiced with a perfect consistency to coat the gnocchi. Sadly, we didn't indulge in deserts, despite their tempting choices. That chocolate pie sure looked good! Can't wait to return to Kounter again soon. Bill was an attentive waiter who anticipated our needs and was there to address them quickly. His cheerful pride in Kounter's meal choices was justified by the quality of the meal. We'll be sure to ask for him next time we enjoy Kounter.
