   Worst Japan restaurant in Miami! I’m always down to spend for a good meal and this place was sooo bad! The rice for the nigiri was so dense and cuts of the fish were uneven and the service was so bad!! Azabu is the way to gooo or hiden not here! Not authentic Japan sushi

    Kosushi is really in a league of their own. After a hiatus of some months that impacted their ability to serve their cooked options, the restaurant is back in biz with its full menu. Despite its high prices, the food is worth every penny if you truly love fresh Japanese cuisine. The staff is engaging, knowledgeable and clearly loves the fare they serve...☆☆☆☆!!

    Good food and ambiance but I notified the restaurant in the details of the reservation AND separately over the phone that this dinner is a birthday celebration and would like a dessert brought out. They were very receptive over the phone and promised this. Upon conclusion of dinner the check was brought out and no mention of any dessert… super awkward to have to bring this up to the waiter in front of the birthday girl. He was dumbfounded, didn’t know it was a birthday, unhelpful, and said there was nothing he could do. I informed him that I had spoken to the restaurant well in advance and was promised a dessert as the point of the dinner was her birthday. Pleaded with him to order something. He said he could see what he could do as the kitchen had “closed” and brought out a meager looking chocolate mouse with candle in it… it was okay looking but definitely not what you would expect for a birthday dessert at a restaurant on South of 5th at this price point. Having to discuss with the waiter (what should have been a special surprise) in front of the birthday girl was disappointing.

    Restaurant was too warm. Like they wouldn’t turn down the ac. Sushi was too warm as well. Nothing special about the food that you can’t get from any other average sushi place on the beach. Stains on the chairs. Had great expectations, but left feeling underwhelmed. The management and service was very nice, the service prompt and the decor was really beautiful.     amazing experience at kosushi as always! my family was in tow and kosushi is our favorite restaurant in Miami so we went for dinner of course! we ordered shishito peppers to start which were amazing and came with a delicious dipping sauce. Then, we ordered maki including the spicy tuna, kosushi king, and salmon truffle. Salmon truffle is my all time favorite roll— the flavor profile is unmatched. the king crab truffle was tasty and the seaweed salad was delicious. The yakimeshi was absolutely incredible— would 100% order again every time I go back now. Kosushi brought us salmon tartare which was the kindest gesture, and it was so fresh and delicious. The cold sake is amazing here as well. Kosushi will always have my heart— favorite restaurant in Miami.

    The food is good, the price is horrible. Two people - no drinks at all. $300 $15-20 per piece for nigiri. The restaurant is typically empty because locals won’t pay these prices.

    We returned to dine here with friends. Reception and service remained attentive. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary salmon tartar w/chips as returning diners. We enjoyed the Snow sake along our favorite watercress salad and signature nigiri sushis (shrimp butter, unagi, hamachi), Kosushi king & Toro Maki, Kanpachi & Salmon uzuzukuri, King crab battarga. We tried the King crab legs w/ butter sauce served warm as well as the signature king crab nigiri. All well presented in a timely fashion and delicious as ever, everything was fresh. Our friends loved the restaurant and thanked us for the introduction. We all will return to dine here again.

    Food and presentation were great. Service was great as well except for everything felt rushed. Particularly when the plates or drinks were finished. They would immediately take away the dishes and because it’s so many dishes you’re constantly being interrupted by the staff. Only other issue is the use of throw away, take out sushi style chopsticks. I was shocked they don’t have quality chopsticks. At this price point, one would certainly except real utensils.

    This was an omakase experience with a visiting Michelin starred chef from Brazil. It felt like highway robbery. While the quality of the food was very good, we came out hungry. What was advertised as a 12-course omakase dinner (for $180 per person plus beverages, tax and service so minimum $300 per person) was actually 11 INDIVIDUAL PIECES OF SUSHI plus an ice cream…that’s a lot per bite…as I said we were hungry at the end of the dinner. Too bad because we usually like this restaurant.

    Sexiest place for a date night ! Love the sushi bar as it’s intimate with the incredible turtle shell surrounding it! I can eat here and never be disappointed. Staff is great too and attentive without being annoying

    My husband & I were happy to return here with a visiting guest. We love the zen interior ambiance and the menu selection remains well edited with our favorites.     New Years Eve at Kosushi has me not wanting to return ever again to this establishment. I’ve been going to this place for over 2 years. 100% think it’s the best sushi spot in town. I regularly bring friends who are visiting to this fabulous restaurant. Wilder is an absolutely amazing chef. However, after last nights service I doubt I will be returning. I initially called and made my reservation earlier in the day thinking I lucked out that my favorite sushi spot in town has a reservation open. I have a friend in our party who is vegan and I ask the reservationist if they have a vegan option and she told me yes. So I set the reservation up with that knowledge. Party of 4 of us arrive at 7:45 for our reservation. It was very slow maybe 2 other tables when we arrived. Our server gets us water and drinks and starts us with edamame. I then proceeded to tell our server (Melvin) I called earlier about the vegan option. Just stared at us blank and said “I don’t know I’ll ask my manager” the manager (blond Russian woman) after a few minutes comes over and proceeds to tell me word for word “i can’t do vegan except for edamame and miso soup and I asked the hostess if you asked her about a vegan option and she said you didn’t and I have no reason to lie and she doesn’t either” EXCUSE ME? Your gonna tell me I’m a liar to my face in front of the table. The rudest thing someone working at a restaurant has ever said to me. We were all in shock and she just walked away after she said that. So my friend finished her drink and went to planta to eat and us three stayed. We started the $125 Sekiwake experience which in all honesty was not an experience. The one thing I can’t and never will complain about is the food and drinks at Kosushi. Absolutely amazing. However the reason this wasn’t an experience is because every time the staff brought out a new dish they didn’t explain what it was and when asked they said they didn’t know. Water never refilled the whole dinner service. HORRIBLE
