   After some initial problems in getting our party of four seated, we enjoyed all the drink, food and desserts. Three in our party had the cod and reported it was one of the finest seafood dishes they've ever had. I had the tagine and while I don't particular like chickpeas or couscous, I really enjoyed the dish. Drinks were excellent although I thought $23 for a martini was a bit high. The breads were delicious as was the burrata. Our waiter was a bit hyper and offputting, but that did not prevent our 75th birthday celebration.

   Having enjoyed the other NAHA restaurants we were excited to eat at Kostali. The hostesses at the front desk were unfriendly and flippant regarding our difficulty getting parking at the Hotel and parked in the lot across the street. Kostali offers NO discounted parking and it was $42 to park for 2 hours in the parking lot across the street. Our waitress was lovely, the food was OK, nothing we would crave and return for or pay the exorbitant parking rates for!

   Awkward service is the best way to describe that part of the experience. The food, however, shone! Pretty atmosphere. We showed up at 7:08 for our 7:15 reservation and were told that we'd be seated "closer to our reservation time". We made our way to the bar, and by 7:45 checked back in with our hostess, who indicated she had forgotten about us. Thankfully, our glass of rose and French 75 held us over. After we were seated, it took quite a while before we were greeted by our server, probably about 5 minutes. A very nice gentleman, but seemed to have his opening lines memorized, and spoke very quickly. It appeared he had been assigned way too many tables; he seemed overwhelmed, and was not very attentive to our table. We watched a group of 4 women be seated, and walk-out 15 min later after no one greeted them for service. In all, my dinner date and I were there for nearly 3 hours, which is well beyond the time it should have taken. Good thing we had nothing but time. Cocktails were flowing and conversation was great. The Burrata with cipollini onions, squash, freekah and grapes, pomegranate, mint and greens was delicious and the highlight of our meal! We also had the Bread with taramasalata and my dinner date is still talking about this delicious spread with roe. We shared the Garganelli pasta, which left more to be desired - having just 3 clams and two shrimp. I would give this place a second chance and hope for better service experience next time.

   Went to dinner before a Second City and had been a frequent Naha visitor. Kostali was a very fun experience and the food was as you would expect sensational. We had oysters, hummus, the Kostali salad and the Mothers' Feta cheese Turnovers (which were amazing). All were tremendous. Then we had the chicken poussin and the whole Branzino which they fileted for us. The flavor of both were exceptional. This is a shared plates concept and there were 4 of us and it was just enough but we could have maybe done one more dish had we had time. The price point is very compelling. It looks like a very simple menu but it has a bit of everything and the ability to share made it a perfect place. While it is not the old Naha, it is a tremendous alternative to Brindille and I will definitely be heading back soon

   The feta cheese whip for the bread was fantastic, and my girlfriend's food came out great. The ribeye was fine tasting, but was very tough in some areas, and the fat was almost impossible to cut through. I would expect more from a 60 dollar steak. But it was still enjoyable. Service was great. But nothing too special about the place

    We enjoyed our dinner but were disappointed that we only found out the day before that there would b a special menu because it was THE DAY AFTER Valentines Day. We had been looking forward to viewing and ordering from the complete menu.

    Food was wonderful, and our waiter was great. Hosts seemed much more interested in turning tables than they did in providing a great dining experience. This is a very good restaurant, but needs to pay more attention to ambiance and overall dining experience before it can be considered a great one.

    Outstanding evening at Kostali celebrating birthdays with my friend. The host and hostess could not have been nicer-friendly, smiling, courteous and relaxed. I waited at the cool round bar for my friend and while I didn’t have a craft cocktail, I could tell the bartender was a REAL pro mixologist. I loved watching him craft a cocktail for someone as his attention to detail was impressive. Then we sat and Andrew came to our table. I can’t even say he was our “waiter” because he felt more like an entertaining educator. SO knowledgeable about EVERYTHING on the menu and made excellent suggestions based on our hunger level. He was funny, smart and interesting, something we really appreciated! The ambiance of Kostali is cool, chic and hip. But not over the top. Just comfortably chic. I cannot wait to go again and eat all of the things we didn’t have!

    I was a regular at Naha and was very impressed with the new restaurant. It is very warm and inviting, but with a refreshing energy. The food is delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. I loved the cocktails! I would definitely recommend for a date night or group dinner.

    Excellent food and décor. Folks that loved Naha will note be disappointed in Kostali. Even though the menu has a different spin the food and pairings of flavor is of the highest quality. I can't wait to go back!

    Loved the food and service. I asked a stupid question and received a sincere answer without any snark. The staff genuinely loved the food. If the restaurant added doors, the ambiance would match the service and food. This is worth the hunt for the entrance. Located in the lobby of the gwen hotel.

    First time at this new restaurant We always enjoyed NaHa and tried Brindille last year and it was also excellent so we were looking forward to our meal at Kostali. My husband and I enjoyed our food- great taste combinations in all the courses. Our only disappointment was that since it was Chicago Restaurant Week so they only had the special menu available, not the full selection. Guess we’ll have to return so I can get the lamb shanks another time.

    Soooo Loud. I won't go back there simply because it was so hard to hear and enjoy the great food. Too bad.

    If you loved Naha... then make a reservation here immediately. Carrie Nahabedian's genius is alive and well in this new restaurant. It's inside The Gwen on Rush Street and sets a new standard for how good a restaurant within a hotel can be. I know very little about the flavors of Greece,Tunisia, Lebanan, Israel, and Morocco but I trust the chef. Our dinner was delicious, beautifully presented, and at reasonable price points. The desserts are marvelous, too. You will never experience tapioca pudding like this. I can't wait to go back.

    Extraordinary high quality food. Vibrant, robust dishes. Large portions delivering great value. Interesting wine list of “Coastal” wines from Mediterranean area and other, including Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia. Southern France (Languedoc) and Canary Islands. Top notch service. Nice space, w/ cool bar area.

    Wow - Carrie Nahabedian has done it again - perfect Mediterranean food rooted in her homeland of Armenia but accented with flavors from all over the region. The baby chicken tagine was AMAZING. Every component had its own flavor profile going on and they all sang like a choir. Every bite was a different sensation. Masterful. The black cod with was similarly amazing - every piece of the dish was flavorful and delicious. The breads? Shut up - amazing. Super fun wine list (bottles start in the $60-range). It's downtown prices, yes, but the quality delivers - or over-delivers for the price. I'll be back.

    Our first time. Everything was perfect. First, the room is beautiful., very relaxing and inviting. We had a booth which was extremely comfy. Our server was a young woman who was friendly and very helpful with suggestions on the menu and wine pairings. Portions are generous and I recommend sharing. We started with the hummos, lamb ribs and Kostali salad. The breads and lavosh are to die for and there are 3 spreads, we chose the feta. For entrees we shared the whole roasted loup de mar and lamb shank. Absolutely delicious. We were getting full so shared the tapioca dessert which was light and refreshing. The hardest decision on the menu is what to try so next time, the calamari fritto misto or oysters and the ribeye! Will be back. The Gwen is a great little hotel and there is an elevator direct to Nordstrom’s if you want to shop.

    Eagerly awaiting this new restaurant. Great food and yummy drinks. The wine list is a good tour of the Mediterranean area. Downsides are that the restaurant is VERY noisy - if they could do something to breakdown the noise, it would help a lot. Service was good but could use a bit of a polish - there were times we were waiting for service (like when all our glasses were empty) and more advice from the service - ideas for wines that would work well with the food we ordered and how to order (after commenting that one of the mains was rather large, the server noted it was something best to share - something we would have liked to know when ordering). That said, the food was exceptional and we'll be coming back.
