Waitress never returned to refill drinks. Buffet was smaller than expected. Food was good just not as many choices like the Marriott for the cost. Requested table with view. Seated at table watching people at the pool. Thought I would try something different for his birthday. He enjoyed it. 3 different wait staff. When asked for our waitress we were told she was busy doing something else.
Always such an amazing experience. Dining right at sunset was beautiful a perfect view. The dinner was spectacular and the seasonal options are always a pleasure trying a new addition to the menu.
Had dinner here Easter Sunday (not the brunch). Their regular menu is very limited. Service was pleasant enough but spotty, particularly considering there were only 2 or 3 other occupied tables.
I tried the paella....scallops and risotto were excellent, but the U10 shrimp were chewy & tasteless. Salmon was overcooked. My wife had a ho-hum strip steak....perfectly grilled, but also tasteless.
Nicely decorated restaurant, but any view of the surrounding mountains is essentially blocked by the pool.
Overall, not worth the $$.
Way understaffed at breakfast, lunch and dinner. So won't seat people even though there are plenty of empty tables. Food is good.
Dinner here was the best place for a meal after a long day of traveling and checking into the Sheraton. Unfortunately the prices reflect the resort setting, so a bit high for what you get. The chicken tortilla soup was spot one. Salads were dinner size and huge- our waiter should have warned us before we both ordered one!
Ko'sin at the Sheraton is only 10 minutes from downtown Tempe and yet worlds away on the indian reservation. Beautiful staged landscape and a winding road that leads to the property promises a resort with class. And Ko'sin doesn't disappoint. Inside or outside sitting available most of the year. Food is always great for my taste and my guests have always enjoyed it as well. Prices are reasonable (for a Sheraton resort). Service is and always has been friendly and slow (I have been eating here occasionally for more than 10 years), but if you come here to relax and enjoy the desert scenery, time shouldn't matter.
The view of the desert and South Mountain is awesome. The building is big and beautiful. But the Sunday breakfast buffet was a tired sad old Sheraton hotel half-effort. My wife did good ordering an entree from the menu, but overall we were very disappointed.
Very limited selection. Grumpy omelette cook. Fruit salad was melon and a few stray grapes. Dried up pastries. It's a Westin looking property, with a Holiday Inn breakfast buffet.
Went here for breakfast at 7 am on a Sunday. It was divine. Food hit every taste bud, and the ambiance was energizing enough to wake my breakfast date for great conversation but keep us in a relaxed mode. Staff was attentive and fun to talk to. We had the buffet.
Our reservation was at 6:30 with a concert down the street scheduled for 8 p.m. on Valentines eve. We arrived approx. 6:35, greeted immidiately, and ordered a drink. When the drink arrived we ordered the sea bass to split, the waiter came around a couple times and I reminded him that we had concert reservations at 8 p.m. It finally got to be 7:20 p.m. with still No dinner! I left a twenty for the beer, the waiter was nice and understand and offered a discount, but didn't want to miss the show .Not sure how long it should take to cook a piece of fish? In ending it wasn't busy, Sorry we didn't get to eat our Valentines dinner.
Great food, exceptional service, but is a hotel restaurant so expect a higher price tag than normal
The hostess is the only reason this place did not get great marks across the board. Unfortunately, she was the first person we had to deal with. We arrived a little early and were waiting in line. The group in front of us did not have a reservation and they needed a table set up for them. It is New Years Eve and we understood that not having a reservation could create issues. They were seated and then she came to us. We were told to come back in 20 minutes when our reservation was set for. Having just watched a table of 6 get placed with no reservation, this did not go over well. We came back when told to and were seated in a room of 9 tables. We were taken to the table in the middle of the room when only 2 other tables were occupied. We asked if we could move to an outside table but were told that she would have to go and check as the restaurant would be very full and everything was pre set. She came back 10 minutes later and said she could move us. We declined as we had already received water and spoken with the wait staff. Through the entire dinner, only 2 more tables were occupied and 1 clearly had no reservation as they did not know the menu was fixed for the evening and had to have it explained to them several times. If the place had been packed, we would have understood but it was not and we were not given the service by the hostess that we should have received. A shame because the food was great as was the wait staff.
It was our first time dining over here and the food was great! However, the service itself was pretty slow. By the time we got our complimentary bread and appetizers, our main course came out a few minutes afterward. We didn't receive our drinks til after the main course as well. Once we got everything though, it was really good food. They also provided us complimentary dessert due to the fact that it was our 5 year anniversary. I'm hoping that the service itself was just having an off night.
I will never return to this restaurant. Never treated so horribly in my life
The service was excellent...attentive and accommodating. Salads were light and refreshing, although the beet salad needed a reduction in the size of the beets. The presentation, although unique, would benefit with a change. Perhaps, beets in a different form, as opposed to the 8 large pieces presented in a square. The macaroni and cheese had great elements, but the entire dish was over salted. Desserts were creative and tasty.
The service here was outstanding. The pork rib appetizer and bacon wrapped buffalo meatloaf were 2 of the favorites but the steaks and seabass also received high praise from our group, I just did not try them.
Had a great time! Staff were awesome! Food delicious
We were disappointed with the menu. In the past the menu offered some unique dishes with unique native accents. The dishes are not very unique and have the run of the mill selection that you can get at any restaurant. The presentation of the meal was great.
Wonderful place and people
After taking it nice and slow with a bottle of chard we decided on the tenderloin and had a lengthy discussion with our server on how we wanted the fillets to be cooked...he assured us they would come out just perfect. Several tables filled but everyone had eaten. We ordered two glasses of red to have with dinner. Fillets finally came out and centers both raw. Found our server and no problem it would not be dried out...chef will watch 10-15 sec. and that should do it. "Why don't you eat the green beans while steak is being cooked??" You are kidding. Take both of the entire $38. plates. Came back 15 mins. later and a disaster. Apparently put in micro and steaks shriveled up along with the beans which were not replaced!! Waiter didn't know what to say...please come back another night...new chef each evening. We asked for manager...it is now 1 hr. after we were seated. Manager came and apologized. By now we are not hungry. Paid for the bottle of chard and no comp on two glasses of red which was very cheap on manager's part. Can see why this restaurant is empty.
This place was delicious and very large portions. Our waitress was very pleasant and on point so it was awesome service.
Disappointed that 1st time slot for reservation was not available on Open Table but when we arrived, NO ONE was in the restaurant. Communication is vital. A broader food selection would be nice. Service was excellent.
Right after we made our reservation we called to say we probably wanted to come earlier because our guests arrived earlier they said they would call us back they never called we never went to this restaurant and we never will go again the idea that they would not call us back is almost unforgivable
Great brunch and wonderful service. We ate at kosin for dinner and brunch and do rec both. Sharlyn took great care of us during brunch and helped us plan our day. Service was outstanding.
Booked this for brunch and requested a table outside, they were not busy but we still had to help move our table and arrange the chairs. The table next to us remained with seat cushions on the floor our entire meal. The food was fine but nothing to go back for. The waitress was very nice. Sadly the outdoor dining looks into the pool and not the mountains.
We went for mother's day with my 90 yr old mother. The service was so painful. Timing was terrible, 45 minutes from seating to a plate on the table. We were literally the first people in the place. This is not pleasant or something to be proud of. Our waiter was either in training on just poorly trained. He tried so hard to memorize the special, but couldn't get it. WRITE it down and READ it to me!! WRITE down our order so we won't be disappointed when the plate has something we asked not to have. (No duck fat potatoes, please). Oh well, the place was pretty. BTW I am an SPG Gold member, others told me we should expect a 10% off deal, and it was not even noted when I handed my card to the waiter. Maybe management should help staff understand the meaning of SPG Gold. We are good, REPEAT, customers. Usually, but not here.
We went there for a birthday party and walked away less than thrilled. The service was incredibly slow and the food was not worth the price. However, the ambience was great though. We probably wont go back.
Given some of the reviews I have read on other sites, we were pleasantly surprised with the meal. We started off with the pumpernickel rye bread, which was very good. I like it when a restaurant serves excellent bread to start the meal.
The other members of my party had salads which they enjoyed and I had the chicken tortilla soup. The soup was good but not great-too tomatoey (new word!).
The entrees were excellent. My filet mignon was as good as I have had at other leading restaurants in Scottsdale or Phoenix. While I did not try the short ribs dish, the other two people said it was very tasty.
My father apparently did not enjoy his steak but I tasted it and it was very good and cooked as he requested. He said it was plain-well that's what you get when you ask for no seasoning and ask that they don't put on the gorgonzola crust.
We finished up with the churros. Excellent. I could have eaten two orders just by myself.
The main dining room was surprisingly small and the interior decorating could have been a little better. Overall though, an excellent meal.
Wife ordered fish tacos without aioli. They came with aioli after a long wait. Waiter said he checked with chef and assured us that the mayonnaise-like substance wasn't that. No offer to fix, take off bill, even though wife didn't eat it. Similar experience at poolside bar. We had breakfast the day we got in---that was ok.
I love KoSin and wanted to come for my birthday dinner. I was a little taken back by the amount of small children under 4 in the dining area that were not being polite. It was a bit noisy for the first 1/3 of our meal . I had made a note that it was my birthday and wanted a view by the window but we were seated in what felt like the family area. ?? Nobody's fault but the parents I suppose.
The food was wonderful as always but my aunt's sea bass was badly seared on the bottom, resulting in a little burnt and dry fish. They happily replaced it with new but then our dinners were off sync. They took a portion of the fish off of the bill and treated me to a birthday dessert so it all ended well.
Dinner is good. My sea bass was dry but everything else was very good. Servers are very friendly and attentive. We like the whole atmosphere.
our reservation was for 5:30 p.m. No one around to seat us. Had to knock on kitchen door to find someone. We had never eaten there and it was not a good beginning. We told our waiter and he was apologetic and gave us great service.
Its pretty much your only choice in this restaurant for sit down breakfast and lunch. While to food was decent, I found the service to be slow to the point where they had to write off my meal which i think was appropriate.
We stayed at hotel for a week and ate several times at this restaurant. It's wonderful! The food for any meal is amazing!! Dinner was my fav. They have the most amazing fresh pumpernickel dinner rolls; they are sweet and soft and have flex of grain. Very tasty. The entrée was very appetizing! Always plated beautifully with great care. I had the pork loin one night and filet another. Both amazing! Both delicately seasoned so to compliment the natural flavors of the meat. And cooked to perfection! The sides also well paired! Kid portions are large so don't let them spoil their appetite before supper! Wait staff very considerate and attentive but not intrusive. The dining room over looks the pool and golf course with mountain range in back ground. The most amazing sunsets I've ever seen!!!! Perfect dinning experience!
We go to this restaurant when attending a show at Wildhorse Pass casino. The food is consistantly good and service is impeccable. Our server Robert was great. You do have to wait for food to be served, so order an appetizer and wine early and then relax.
The restaurant was very inviting with staff that was quick and responsive at the beginning of the experience. Waiter was nice and gave recommendations of the menu and was spot on with the tortilla soup. My wife ordered sea bass which was beautifully presented...but that was it. It was over salted and over cooked. I ordered the pork tenderloin and it was overcooked and under seasoned. Once our meal was delivered, we did not see our waiter again at our table, I had to wave him down to order another beer and when asked about it 10 minutes later, he looked like he was called into the principal's office. Needless to say, he lost out on additional tip money because we decided to go have desert somewhere else. I really had high hopes for the dining experience, but just never delivered.
Came for New Year's Eve and the food was wonderful. Nice place for a romantic dinner.
Always love to find an excuse to come to the Sheraton for any occasion. The ambiance just walking through the doors is worth the trip. Ko'Sin always manages to have something on the menu to please everyone in the party. The only negative mark is finding an occasional snobbish waiter.
We've been to ko-sin before but wanted to visit again since the menu changed a bit.
It's been completely redecorated and I found it to be a bit too open. The food was
totally amazing and the only "but" was, it was a cold night and the restaurant was
freezing ! We kept our jackets on around our shoulders !
Service was great, will go back after I make sure the heat is on !
We live in north Phoenix and a few times a year we like to shop at the Premium Outlets. We always plan to have lunch at Ko'Sin because the service is outstanding and the menu always offers fresh, delicious and generous selections of good food with a southwest flair. Highly recommend the restaurant and it is also a Starwood property which generally indicates high quality service and products..
Dinner at Ko'Sin was wonderful. Service was attentive enough to pick up on the smallest needs. The food was amazing, down to the salad. The dessert Ice Wine was fairly priced, so much better than other restaurants that triple mark up. I will be back!
