A bit disappointed because the staff knew it was my Moms 89th birthday and did very little to make her feel special. They asked for her name when we made the reservation and the waiter asked if we were celebrating a special occasion but again did nothing but smile and quietly said happy birthday...We have celebrated special occasions before and were treated much more special than we were Saturday evening - candle on cake, etc. Again, disappointed...
Summer heat is rising but we still have birthdays and need to see friends so why not enjoy this restful spot. Our server was 100% dedicated to making our lunch festive and the chef even honored us with a delicious birthday treat. The chicken and fig melt sandwich was creative and delicious and the charcuterie board included a variety of meats and cheeses beautifully displayed (and leftovers cheerfully packed up to go). Real brewed iced tea was delicious, too. The menu is a good read - Southwest and Native ingredients such as Crow's dairy cheeses and Chimayo figs. Our sunny window table looked out on all the fun at the pool area and the desert and mountains beyond. Thank you Ko'sin for a lovely afternoon.
My mother ordered lamb, and it was mutton. She wishes she would have returned it. My husband's steak was overcooked. My mother in law liked her salmon, and her boyfriend liked his pot roast. My trout was good. The restaurant is quiet so good for conversation.
Food was A-Maz-Ing!!! Duck Confit and Surf and Turf featuring Lobster Mac N Cheese. Good to the last bite! Celebrated 17th Wedding Anniversary (Included in reservation) and got free dessert plate - deconstructed cheesecake style. Highly recommend for special occasion. Service was great food will make it memorable.
We attended for Easter Brunch. I was disappointed to say the least. When you pay $80 per person plus a tip, you expect quite a bit. Staffing wasn't an issue. They had several staff members stationed at omelette bars, cutting stations, etc. Wait staff did not come around often. Too few waiters and waitresses and too many other standing around waiting for guests at cutting stations. Here are the issues:
No regular bread. What was out was hard as a rock.
The desserts looked amazing and tasted terrible.
Cake pops made with donut holes.
First pour of coffee lukewarm.
Inconsistent service. They looked swamped while others looked bored.
Some items you could tell did not move well and they looked withered.
You could tell they were ready for business in some areas but not in others. Many managers walking around but not one came to the table. The Farm at South Mountain is $30 cheaper and the array of food and service far exceeds this resort. Frankly, I am surprised as your sister restaurant has such high ratings.
Work on the taste of your desserts. You had to know they tasted bad, were cheap and frankly did not live up to the caliber expected for that price point. Making sure you have ample basic bread products. Could not even have piece of toast as there was nothing. Tore off a roll only to find out it may have been a decor item.
Perhaps the fact we came in just before noon could have been a factor, not sure.
We have eaten there in the past and it was good.
Nice presentation but again, for $80 per person, you could have done something custom. Dove Easter bunnies as decor?

This is the "other" restaurant at the hotel. The food was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the almost $200 bill. I had the buffalo meatloaf which was good. My friend had the steak which was terrible. The wine of the day was two mini bottles which was strange. The service was friendly but they complexity ignored multiple requests including things they asked if we would like. (Do you want more bread? Sure! And then they never brought any bread.) It was a major disappointment.
The service was outstanding. I had the Buffalo Meatloaf, it was the best meatloaf I have had in a restaurant. The Native Bean Soup was outstanding. Presentation of the meal was unique and well done. I ask the server to box up my leftover Meatloaf, it was dropped on the floor so the manager gave me a whole entrée to take home. Like I said the service was outstanding.
Meeting friends who like a different type of restaurant was right on target. The atmosphere was so inviting. The area was quiet for conversation catch up. We live locally and will definitely make a return visit! The service was great and recommendations were superb.
Service is always friendly. This is our favorite spot to go for breakfast. It always feels like we on vacation even though we live so close. VIP service from the moment you walk onto the property. The food is delicious and the menu changes seasonal the Chef always accommodates my food allergy. There's a breakfast buffet or large menu items. A wonderful plus plus plus they serve Starbucks drinks :)
I have been to Ko'sin on another occasion during the summer. We enjoyed the ambiance and the quieter atmosphere. At this meal, we did enjoy some quieter moments initially until more guests were seated. I had originally tried to make a reservation for 5:00 but was only given the option of 5:30 at Open Table.
We found the food to be wonderful as it was previously. The vegetables are cooked
al dente and the ingredients are very fresh. It is a great experience to try new foods such as the mushrooms, which are grown on the Wild Horse Pass Reservation.
Dinner with wife. Nice each room was not too big. Fantastic server. Comfort food, mussels and steaks.
Splurged on Conn Creek cab which ran our bill up otherwise on par for costs these days. Menu somewhat limited but wisely chosen.
Also went there for Sunday breakfast bar and omelets. About $23 per person included coffee and orange juice. Standard offerings done well.
This was a last minute reservation for my Birthday. Everyone was and everything was even better than expected! I would highly recommend this to anyone! Our kids as well as my husband enjoyed everything! The cheesecake is amazing! Loved the friendliness of all the staff as well!
Ko'Sin is the "casual dining" restaurant at the Sheraton, but there is nothing casual about the menu. I started with the bean soup, which blew me away. The combination of ingredients and preparation was better than any bean soup I've ever had, anywhere. This was followed by a Pot Roast that was so good I wanted to draw out the meal to savor every morsel.
Went to Ko'sin for new years eve. They had a pre set menu with several choices for each course. The items both my wife and I selected were very good. We asked our waiter for a desert recommendation, it was spot on. I would like to try their regular menu sometime.
Having booked our reservations a month in advance, it didn't cross my mind that we would have any difficulty with our New Years Eve early afternoon dinner. At 10:30AM New Years Eve, I received a call from the hostess who informed me that they would not be able to honor my reservations and would need to cancel as the restaurant is closed. After an hour of waiting to hear back from the GM of the restaurant, she informed me that this was a HUGE mistake and all just a misunderstanding and encouraged me to keep my reservation. Arriving at the restaurant we were greeted with a nice table and a complimentary taste of a gluten free appetizer. 25 minutes later, that and the water that was initially brought to our table was all that we had received. No waitress, no GM, no salads, no check back. Nothing. I promptly asked the hostess for the GM, she retrieved here from the kitchen. The GM informed me that the kitchen lost my ticket. An hour and a half later, my salads were finally delivered to my room. Needless to say it was an awful experience.
We absolutely loved our experience here. We went for my husband's birthday with our 5 year old son. Terrific atmosphere, wonderful staff, and delicious food. My husband raved about his trout and I had roasted chicken which was also very good. Our son enjoyed his meal as well. Dessert was perfect. Justin and Brandon were fabulous servers. There were singles, couples, kids, and big families yet it was quiet and calm. We will definitely be back again!
I was so looking forward to a return visit for lunch. We walked in and no hostess. Walk around corner and waited a few minutes, walked up to the dining room. If I hadn't been looking forward to the trout we would have left. I had to ask a server for the hostess (he apologizes and goes to find her). She comes from the back and asks if it is two diners. Really, no hello or sorry to keep you waiting? She walks to the stand to get menus and starts to walk into the room and I asked for the corner table. Response - that's where I was going. Okay, sorry didn't know that and not really the snippy response that generates good will. If you want me to know that you were going there a quip about great minds or a smile and acceptance. She and our waiter never mentioned the Sunday breakfast bar (limited so I can't call it brunch) that was available. My mother probably would have gotten that if we had even known about before we ordered.
The customer service of the wait staff was good for the meal. However, the reason I returned was due to the trout, which I now know they change how it is served seasonally. This time a few blanched veggies and lots of fennel - so cold crunchy on hot trout in the winter. The trout was good, but really that felt like the only thing I ate off that plate. Usually I get a starch and veggies at other restaurants. The spa was wonderful so my Mom's Christmas present wasn't a total disappointment.
