   Home made noodles but no flavor in the sauces. No table bread because it wasn’t ready at 5:30pm reservation … carbonara was over cooked, it was scrambled eggs. Alfredo chicken was rubbery. Clams had no flavor. Eggplant stack didn’t meld flavors together….

   Our first time eating here and we loved it! The happy hour discounted cocktails and appetizers are worth a trip alone, but we enjoyed the Delmonico steak and the Veal Cavatelli from the regular dinner menu. The only thing that made me give 4/5 stars on the food is the steak was slightly over cooked (but not by much) and the veal in the cavatelli entree was a little too salty for me, but the pasta itself was amazing. The bartender Allie was awesome and had great menu recommendations. Try the Italian margarita! We will definitely be back!

   We had the nicest ladies meet and greet us. They asked if we wanted roof top or main dining; we chose rooftop! It was such a beautiful setting over looking the ocean! So to begin…we love the Hawaiian food here on the island, but after 6 days of trying all kinds of fish dishes and poke we needed some good Italian cooking (just so happens, we’re an Italian family)! We sat down and were greeted by “Josh” I think his name was! He was the bartender and our waiter as well. He asked if we’d like a drink and rattled off a few suggestions, one including gin! I said “ I don’t do gin!” He then said can I make you something that might change your mind! Will you trust me?” So how could I refuse, he also asked to make my husband a whisky drink that he thought he might enjoy as well. We haven’t really had too many great cocktails on the island to be totally honest and we told Josh that. He said he would fix us up! AND also said the drinks were on the Happy Hour menu (all drinks on HH menu $10.!!). Let me tell you….I don’t know what it was called by it was so refreshing and delicious; it was like being at a spa!! We were hooked! Dinners were so good! The scampi was perfect and the spaghetti and meatballs…superb!! We also started with the spinach salad; it was very good (add the fried goat cheese…so yummy)! All in all it was a great evening, perfect drinks, delightful meals, super friendly waiter/bartender and staff…and so pretty looking over the ocean. We will be back when we come back, and will share our experience here as well!!

   We went for Mother’s Day dinner on Sunday evening, and the food we had was off the charts. Terrific! It was our second time there, and the only reason I couldn’t give it the full five stars this time was because the table we sat at was second from the end, near the bathroom under the air conditioner fan, which was blowing directly on us at a pretty good clip. I would not recommend that table. The other issue was the bottle of wine. I was really looking forward to having, they didn’t have. That’s fine as I know they can’t stock every single bottle for every single night. But they were also out of the mac & cheese bites that my son wanted for appetizer, and the lilikoi crème brûlée we were all looking forward to. Our reservation was for 615 so they didn’t run out that night. They just didn’t have it. That was disappointing.  everything else was wonderful, the veal scallopini, the shrimp scampi, and the Mother’s Day special - shrimp and scallop risotto was fantastic!

   Went there with the family for a combination birth and Mothers day celebration. The service was outstanding and the food was perfection. I have been looking for a decent Italian restaurant on tge Big Island and Kina Pasta Company exceeded my expectations ! Will be a regular customer. Highly recommend

   It seems like the food level quality is dropping the longer the restaurant has been an operation. The noise levels in creasing Lee, loud and in desperate need of acoustic paneling.

    If you haven't been, don't go. Overpriced. Bad ambience/noisy. We sat a long while before our water glasses were filled. Bar was out of key ingredients for a couple of featured cocktails. Server was nice but handicapped by bar and kitchen deficiencies. Food not so good. My eggplant lasagna had undercooked cubes of eggplant. Another diner in our party said her pasta tasted raw. My cocktail (Lemon Spritz)was flat even though it allegedly contained prosecco and club soda.

    We ate upstairs so it was quiet and the view was beautiful. We had the bruschetta appetizer. It was beautifully plated and tasted delicious. I had the eggplant lasagna. Gooey and good. Took some home. My table mate had the eggplant stack. The presentation was impressive and she said it tasted good. Very reasonable winelist. Can’t wait to go back.

    The service is great! Waitresses are great and accommodating. The food is good but not top tier Italian as far as flavor goes. I ordered the pan seared snapper and the fish was fresh, as far as flavor I give it a 6 out of 10. My husband ordered the eggplant lasagna and the sauce taste similar to the sauce in spaghetti o’s . This restaurant makes great drinks.

    Our Lu’a had gotten canceled at the Royal Kona Resort and we had seen the restaurant earlier. Our hostess, waiter and team were excellent. Our waiter (from Riverside, sorry can’t remember name) was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient with fabulous communication skills. The food was so, so good. Definitely will recommend it.     The two meals from the grill were amazing - but the two pasta meals were not good.. both were sent back and returned just as bad. I was shacked considering it’s a pasta house. Pasta was over cooked and chicken looked boiled. They did discount the meals, so they handled it correctly, but the over all experience was disappointing for 2 out of 4 guests.

    Our bartender, John, was amazing and had great recommendations. Try his version of the Mai Tai! Best Happy Hour in Kona, hands down. Everything we had was amazing, will definitely be back.

    Minestrone was more like a stew than soup, really thick and lukewarm at best. Osso Bucco was good tasting and tender, Mashed potatoes smooth, vegetables crispy and not even lukewarm. Spaghetti sauce was very bland. Only thing that saved this meal were the cannolis’. Service was really slow. My wife and I only, were not in a hurry but watched another couple seated after us order and get drinks then a complete meal after we ordered and before we received our bread service and soup. Ordered coffee and desert for both of us, only received one coffee. Had to flag down waitress for another. Not a good listener. Asked for fork with desert and waitress asked if spoon was OK. If I wanted spoon I would have asked for one. Just a bad experience, too bad. Was hoping for better.

    Great food… great wine list!! The staff is trendily and efficient…. They really make you feel welcome Helpful menu suggestions, great services We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and everyone was very welcoming. They provided a wonderful dessert after a great meal. We will look forward to going back again for another great evening

    This was our second visit. While the pasta was good, one dish arrived with burnt edges, and two dishes were tougher (one meat, one seafood) than one might expect at this level of restaurant. One of the seafood appetizers and entrees were unavailable due to delivery issues, and no alternatives were available.

    food is over priced and i wouldnt go again , service is ok for short staff , wait on food time is around 1 hour and 45 mins and a half hour on bread service. they charge you 20percent for a party of 6 or more . and a add 3 percent for credit card use . we also asked that there be no mushrooms due to my daughter is highly allergic and we found mushrooms in our dinner , and there was alot of dead flies on the window that we were next too .

    We’ve read the reviews and we’re ready for a loud experience, but personally I go to dinner for the food and the service, ambience is minor when you live in Kona where good restaurants are few and far between. The food was absolutely amazing. The steamed clams were super flavorful and when ordered with the $6 focaccia bread service it made for an out of this world appetizer! I had the fresh catch on risotto with spinach and other veggies, fish was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was full bodied! My boyfriend had the pork belly carbonara, again flavor was out of this world, served with tomatoes, pinenuts and perfectly cooked fresh fettuccine noodles! We topped off our meal with lilikoi crème brûlée, which is my favorite, and this was by far the best crème brûlée I have ever had. I would have liked to see other flavors, such as coffee, coconut, fresh, berries, etc. but this was divine. The experience Was everything I wanted it to be for my birthday. So happy, we found another restaurant that we would like to patronize.

    Served water from a pitcher and the glass had floating parts in it. Pointed out and the server said it was the picture and gave us glasses filled from a different picture that was fine. Later when refilling the used the same pitcher as the first time and same problem. Service was slow the spaghetti sauce was like Campbells tomato soup.

    We had a hot dipping appetizer that was incredibly delicious! I wish I had gotten the name. Get it! The pesto pasta was the winner at our table. When we sat it took us 10-15 minutes to be asked if we wanted any wine (and I really wanted a wine) so that is why I took a point off, and my suggestion is that is taken seriously for those customers who like to offered wine immediately. : ) But overall really good. We had been there soon after they opened and the food vastly improved. We are now very impressed.
