   The steak was dry, overdone, not seasoned, and grossly overpriced. The Cheesecake was not sweet, and the raspberry sauce was so tart. It was like acid. The fingerling potatoes were good. Our waters and drinks were never refilled.

   I've been here for "normal" meals, happy hour, etc. I booked for Mother's Day Brunch and was looking forward to the items on the set menu for Mother's Day and for time with my mom. The "intro" course was cinnamon rolls, croissants, muffins, etc. Not bad. The selection of "main" course items were to follow... but that took at least 20 minutes to arrive. By the time the mains arrived, well... they had run out of the chicken fried steak and replaced it with chicken tenders. We were also supposed to receive watermelon, but never did. Lastly, while the main course items were decent in flavor, ALL of the main course items were cold. I suspect that they'd been sitting on a counter for the 20 minutes that it took to receive them. We decided not to send it back, though, as we were hungry and didn't want to wait for another 20 minutes. I will say this. Our server was very kind and upbeat and the host, who I think was a manager, was the same. Also the $3 mimosas were tasty and a good value.

   Great Mother’s Day set menu experience! The ambiance, service and food were great. We didn’t feel rushed and the restaurant wasn’t chaotic like most restaurants on a busy holiday. The restaurant GM was super nice and handed out some nice macarons on our way out as well. Thank you

   Mother’s Day Brunch was a bad experience. The website wasn’t clear about the fixed menu and price. The service was extremely slow. And when the food finally arrived it was very poor. Powdered eggs. Pastries purchased from a grocery store, lukewarm food. Although the manager was considerate and cut over 60% of our check, we all left feeling gross and terribly disappointed. If you’re going to charge $50/person - including children - then don’t force an “all you can eat” experience of low quality food.

   Kona Grill was having a bad night. Our simple order of a chicken sandwich and a cheese burger took nearly an hour although there was a whole section of the restaurant open. Sushi orders cluttered the bar for 20 minutes without being picked up. Frustrated customers and frustrated staff argued with each other and I could see customers lined up at the kitchen door waiting for their orders, which had become take out. Somehow this restaurant got into the weeds and doubled down instead of finding a way out.

   Sitting on the patio on a nice sunny day having happy hour with a dear friend was food for my soul! Our waitress was fabulous and the flatbread is my favorite happy hour food in the Portland metro area!

   My friend had eaten there before so she wanted me to try it. Kona Grill is a nice destination. It was not too loud, and the service was good. The prices are up there but considering the atmosphere probably worth it. They have a special for lunch called a Power Lunch. The price was reasonable, the food was good and the ambiance was very nice. The only drawback was they seated us next to the door going out to the patio. The wait staff was constantly going out to service customers and we kept getting a draft from the opening and closing of the door. There were other tables available but by the time we realized the discomfort we endured the coolness of the outside air.

   We arrived on a Wednesday at 5:10, for a 5:30 reservation. They seated us immediately. We heard the server mention to the table next to us that the bartender had just walked out at 5:00, leaving the bar in chaos. We ordered drinks immediately but did not receive them until 5:45! The menu has a lot of variety but it’s pretty pricy. Cod fish and chips for $39? The happy hour menu is really great though. We all ordered 7 different options and they were all good except the sliders. I’m sure the bar situation was not the norm but I’m iffy on going back.
