Kona Grill - North Star
The food and service were exceptional! They have great appetizers and sangrias!
Horrible service, waited at table for 12 minutes before a waiter even bothered to show up, got worse from there. Sushi was warm, mushy. Do not go here.
I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our server was nice but it must have been his first day on the job because he messed up our order a few times. We ordered two rolls of sushi and some other items. the server forgot to put in an order for one of the sushi rolls and we received the sushi roll 30 minutes later after the rest of the table had finished eating. When the check came we respectfully ask that the forgotten sushi roll be removed from the check the server said I will get my manager. As a manager approached our table she proceeded to say that she could give us 50% off the roll because we had eaten it. She seemed very unapologetic and after further deliberation we said this is unacceptable and that the role should be taken off. the fact the manager was so rude and insisted that we pay 50% off this is unacceptable and we will never be back to Kona grill
Valet parking would be very nice and convenient. The food is exquisite and we will definitely be returning.
This was a date night. Arrived on time. Took 10 minutes before anyone came to seat us. When they did they sat us all the way in a back in a corner and forgot we were there. We walked out and went across the hall to the cheesecake factory. Go there. Better atmosphere and food. We were seated and served in 5 minutes.
Food was terrible. I has the beef stir fry that has small bits of some type of.meat with stringy something in the dish. Theu were out of three of the main appetizers. Love Kona before, never to return at North Star.
Good food as expected. Our server was great - he's very genuinely friendly, funny and attentive. Food arrive at a good pace. I had the sea bass and my partner had the salmon. They both were great choices. We will definitely come back again.
Great ambiance! The waiter provided great customer service. Food was great!
Service was just ok. Sushi was great, the meals we ordered were also just ok. For the price I would probably not be back. Happy hour was awesome on food prices but lacking in drink specials.
Pad thai noodles were hard and undercooked. Sea bass was burnt. Took 15 minutes to get a portion of rice.
Had the opportunity to meet with relatives, that hadn't seen in 40 years
We love going to Kona anytime we are in SA! It is always great & my kids love it!
We have had great experiences at Kona Grill in Houston, but this location one left a lot to be desired. 80% was that we had a bad server and 20% is that the food wasn't that great for the money. Cheesecake Factory is right next door and was a lot more crowded - now we know why. Our server barely talked to us and kind of threw our plates at us. Our order was wrong, a steak undercooked, no apologies. Dropped off the check without saying a word. We wanted to get dessert, but she never asked so we went next door to The Cheesecake Factory. I never like to be rude to servers because I know they have a hard job. We were very nice, but didn't get the same in return. We won't be going back unless we are in Houston.
Great dinning experience, only down fall is right side of dinning room has windows to mall attached. Could possibly use a shade visor to eliminate some of the bystanders gawking and you enjoy your meal. Other then that was excellent for first time visit.
Early Sunday evening was perfect...no big crowd. Setting was good and service was good. Unfortunately I had the NY Strip and the steak was over cooked to what I ordered. It was a little tough and the tasted was very bland. Due to a schedule event we were headed to, I didn't ask for the meal to be corrected.
Great atmosphere and food. We didn't care for the pot stickers. The Yamada roll was outstanding.
It was a nice evening. The dumplings were fantastic. The Service was good. It was a nice evening.
While food and drinks were good, the waitress was awful and slow. She didn't check on us but was all over her other tables. The noise level was so bad that even at the back of the restaurant we were having to almost shout across the table at each other.
Our waitress was no where to be found! No refills, orders incorrect, just plain rude. We had to keep getting other waitstaffs attention! My son and I made it Very Clear that it was my mother’s birthday and Nothing not even an acknowledgment! This was our first time going there and it will Definitely be our Last!! I will Never step foot in this establishment again would have feather gone to a real sushi restaurant or even Cheesecake Factory next door! They didn’t even have bags to put out Togo items in! Never Again!
We love going to Kona Grill for a variety of food and wines! The service was just right, not gone too long and not over doing It! It was a very relaxing dinner date with my wonderful wife!
Went here for Valentine's Day and pretty much they messed up my order. The ambiance isn't what I expected it to be. However they will make substitutions for you. The service wasn't bad and i would visit again maybe as a last resort.
Eat at Kona grill quite often. Love the food. GreAt atmosphere and service.
I may have just causght them on a bad day but service was not so great. The waiter took a long time to attend to us for everything. The food was great and I would definitely go again
The alcoholic drinks were horrific. Very very overpriced and lacking taste And alcohol.
I have visited several Kona Grill restaurants in various cities and all have been very good....but other than a friendly and polite waitress, the food was horrible at this location. My wife ordered the “Special” that included a filet that came out “Well Done” instead of medium rare.... I ordered 3 rolls “to go” to share at our New Years party and we received 3 rolls that were literally 95% rice, only 5 pieces each and the cheapest was $14.... I will never return to this location.
Not a restaurant for a romantic dinner first time visiting expected somewhat of a ambiance
We were 10 minutes late but they still seated us with a smile.
I like coming to Kona because there’s so much variety. My daughter got a pizza, my husband- the chicken satay and sushi for me. However, this visit was particularly poor in service. Our server was missing most of the time, she actually forgot to put in the chicken satay. We had 2 managers wait on us to run food and research our order. Not really my type of restaurant dining. We will not be back. Maybe Cheesecake Factory across the hall had better service (?)
Our waiter was great. I felt bad that he had a lot of tables and he had to seat people too. He had a lot on his plate. It was also awkward with other people standing right next to our table waiting to be seated. One couple waited so long they sat down at dirty bar table. The food was not what we expected either.
Fair at best.... much better sushi in San Antonio
Macadamia nut chicken was the bomb!
First time trying it out and it was awesome. Food was amazing
Great Food and Great Service
Good food and good service.
The environment is pleasant. Thw food is great and the service was outstanding on this visit. I wish I could remember our servers name as I would've loved to have given him kuddos for being so pleasant and promt with us.
Great service and food, couldn't be better.
Well prepared and delicious food but slow to get to your table. Noisy on a Friday night but not unbearable.
Tricky - the sushi(cold) menu always seems to be backed up. So my entree came out before my sushi roll. He went ahead & cancelled or for me. The miso sea bass was excellent! The food rarely disappoints, service is touch & go.
We took a group of clients for lunch, and everyone enjoyed their meals very much. We were left alone enough for good conversation, and yet all needs were attended to. We even got a free carrot cake to share! Yummm.
Place was great, from when we walked in till we walked out. Customer service, drinks & food was awesome. Nice experience for it being my first time.
