Second time here. Everything was amazing
We were not served the duck we ordered, and they informed us that we had to wait an additional 40 minutes for the new one.We waited 20 minutes before the table was available. Although I must say that the waiter who served our table was amazing and very helpful- this was the only positive aspect of our whole experience. I would definitely not choose Komodo for a special occasion.
Great food, great service. Unfortunately while doing the reservation, it doesn’t let the person choose where we want to seat and they put us upstairs, last floor, was super uncomfortable and we had the noise of the cars passing by the street. We didn’t feel like we were in the restaurant and ambiance at all.
Great ambience. Very sexy decor. Food was good. Service was great
Fav place hands down
One of my favs in miami. Awesome food, service, and the ambiance is unmatched. Only downfall is sometimes get caught waiting even with reservations because it is so popular.
Overpriced. Limited food options.
Food was great but we didn’t get seated until 45min after our reservation
Came in for a Christmas Eve dinner and everything was perfect. Service is the best and food was some of the best I’ve had. Great spot! We’ll be back for the short ribs 🙏🏼
Grubman has done a good job with this place. I always enjoy eating here!
The food was very good. The main issues I had was with the service. Beginning with the hostess. She was a snooty, she made my guests and I feel like we didn’t belong at Komodo, not sure if it’s because we are black, but her vibe was off. She wasn’t bubbly and accommodating toward us as one would expect. I tried to ignore it, but the birthday boy we were celebrating pointed it out— it was his night, and he picked up on her poor energy.
Then our waiter was also very snooty, he was curt and short at times. And again, gave us the feeling that we didn’t belong. I mean we spent close to $600 and he was adequately tipped and yet his disposition was just off.
The restaurant itself was nice, the location, the atmosphere, and the food really really was excellent.
I wouldn’t recommend to other black people, I don’t think we’re wanted there.
I had a reservation. Spent 1 hour at the bar waiting for the table and ended up leaving as it was still not ready.
At first our waiter was attentive but once we placed our order it all went downhill. We order the tomahawk and it arrived within 12 minutes. It sat at our table for 10 minutes while we waited for our waiter to bring utensils. He passed us 4x before he actually brought them to us. The Lomein came at the same time as the steak and was cold. We knew these were already prepared and not made to order. As we were still eating we were asked if we were done and if they could clear our plates. Then for the final 15 minutes of our meal the hostess stood nearby eyeing our table despite there being several empty tables nearby so it was strange that ours was the one she was eyeing. Lastly, we were asked if we wanted dessert and then our waiter never returned to place the order except to give us the bill. It was a very poor and strange experience. And the food was mediocre at best. The tomahawk at $195 tasted like a $60 steak at best. It was cold, chewy and over cooked for being served “medium”.
Impeccable service, creative cocktails and truly great food. Peking duck is a standout, as are the salmon tacos. Desserts did not disappoint either. Fun scene and atmosphere.
Tables are crammed together, way too close
We loved everything we ordered. The wagyu strip steak was outstanding. The dumplings were excellent.
The food was sub par and for the price and location, my expectations were pretty high. They’re portions are small and just generally not impressive at all.
All around great
Remarkable food. Great setting. Delicious drinks. Nothing more you need.
Beautiful restaurant. Great vibes. Amazing food. Amazing service!
Great weekend in Miami
The ambiance is perfect and the service is excellent as the staff is really friendly but the food didn't level up to the standards with its price. I believe it's overpriced for a single serving meal. Paid more than $100 for what you see in the photos plus 1 more drink.
food was subpar and very overpriced, not worth the hype.
It’s a beautiful restaurant has great ambience the food is very tasty portions are small and I enjoyed my experience totally. It’s a very large restaurant the space is overwhelming but it’s filled with beautiful people.
Service was impeccable and the garden was spectacular. We were very excited to celebrate our anniversary here. However there were four men sitting across from us smoking marijuana for an hour throughout our meal. They were literally sitting in a cloud of smoke. After the ribs which were delicious all we tasted was marijuana. Our clothing week to smoke in the morning. It was very disappointing
Superior service, amazing atmosphere and fabulous food!
The food was so mediocre we had to send it back. We left without even finishing our meal. They need a new chef and a new manager in charge of the kitchen. They are living on their reputation and eventually diners will wake up
When for my birthday the food was amazing and the service too
All I have to say about this place is LOL. I visit Miami pretty often but never had the chance to visit Komodo. Would like to preface this by saying that I often go to “fun” but quality spots in LA, NYC and Vegas. I don’t expect a lot from these places other than decent quality food and a good vibe.
The sushi was mediocre at best. $350 for a sad sashimi platter with about 20 pieces on it. Sushi tasted frozen.
When we got the bill (I never flinch at a food bill), I was confused at the $800 bill for a platter, a sushi roll, and about 6 drinks.
No itemized receipt. Waiter just stood there and gave us our total and asked for payment so we had no idea what we were paying for.
See below for the $350 “amazing sushi platter.” Also, my filter is making this look much better than it deserves.
I will say the waiter was kind.
The best part - the restaurant asks for your feedback but then the email bounces back.
DO NOT believe the paid reviews on Google.
My reservation was at 9 and I was sitting at 945…
One of the best restaurants and meals I’ve ever had in my life.
The good is great , ambience also. But it took too long to bring dinner!!
Just a little noisy and very expensive, but it’s Miami I suppose!
Komodo was a blast. I was skeptical about the wide array of food and initially thought it would be more sushi based. Boy was I surprised. We thoroughly enjoyed the honey glazed salmon in truffle sauce, the korean fried half chicken (which was ate half and enjoyed the rest for breakfast the next morning), the dim sum money bags were so cool and the drink presentation was awesome. Our server from Venezuela was over the top. He also suggested a restaurant and bar in Wynwood which we went to the next evening and had fun too!!!
Food was not tasty. I had better food at P.F. Chang’s. Very disappointed.
It was my birthday, I was with my husband and we had a great time.
Delicious food and very enjoyable the whole place with a great service.
