Komali Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding restaurant, easy to see why they are Zagat reviewed and suggested. Food was authentic and as flavorful as I have had in the best of Mexico City. Bar staff went out of there way to bring me their tequila suggestions. By the way, do not miss their house tequila and sangrita. Sorry it took so long to find .
We were visiting from NY and wanted to have authentic Mexican food in TX. This was contemporary Mexican food, but it surpassed our expectations. It was so delicious, everything , including the margaritas. I got the tamarind margarita, it was so good. My husband said this was one of the best things he's eaten. I would highly recommend this place .
Amazing Mexican food. The street corn and quest fundido are superb appetizers, the Margaritas and other drinks are great, and the food is to die for. It’s not your typical Tex-mex — it’s more fusion between interior Mexico food and Tex-Mex. service us friendly and very efficient.
We choose this restaurant for a group of 10 friends, our dinner was long overdue and we needed a place that was not super noisy, so we could have conversations. The atmosphere was perfect! The service was attentive, the only hiccup was two people ordered drinks with soda and both times the soda was flat.
The food is delicious, it's authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex, no queso on the menu. The portions are also a great size, not oversized like so many restaurants. It's good quality, handmade food. Well worth it. Will be back soon.
This was a birthday celebration for an elderly friend. I had requested seating close to door since she uses a walker and also I thought when I mentioned that this was a birthday that we might get a candle on the dessert. They did know about the walker but did not notice the birthday. Otherwise, the food was good and the service was quite good. It is noisy at lunch.
Excelent real mexican food. New menu original flavours. Do it expect the classic texmex food this is real Mexican food with original ingredients from different states of mexico like cochinotanpinil, mole, corn tortillas home made. The Tequila menu is quite big even for a restaurant in Mexico, also very good cocktails. I can't wait to come back again! Delicioso y con sabores originales.
The food was just ok and the wait staff was not overly friendly. Felt like we were in the way, they were always in a hurry. The restaurant was not busy for a Thursday night.
My dish was not that great and we sent the dessert back. It was stale and they did not even replace it or suggest anything else. No, we did not get charged for my birthday dessert. Overall
I am not going to go back unless I have to.
I love komali especially for the great value and amazing carafes of tamarind mimosas, regular mimosas, mojitos etc it makes for a jolly time. The only drawback of this phenomenally good and friendly place is the noise level- it is loud! But boy, is it good!
Have eaten at Komali's three times and all have been the same - very good. I appreciate that 90% of their food is gluten free. Gives me the chance to eat wonderful Mexican Food without worries. This time I had the duck enchiladas - the tortillas tasted like crepes - exceptional.
This restaurant is the best in Dallas. The hostess went out of her way to make sure we got a table we liked. This just doesn't happen often. The food was outstanding. The waiter was attentive and not intrusive. The manager came by to check on us. This was a great experience.
We have been to this restaurant in the past and also had them cater an event I had in my home. We were very disappointed with our experience this time. The food came out way too fast and it almost made you wonder if everything is prepared way ahead of time and just sitting there waiting to be warmed up. We actually felt rushed through the whole experience. I ordered the enchiladas with steak and I feel I could have had the same dinner at a fast food Mexican restaurant. Presentation and taste were well below average. There was a very small portion of steak on the plate along with two basic cheese enchiladas, some black beans and dry rice. Extremely boring. The best thing was the margaritas and I believe I could have had a much better overall experience at Chueys. Way below expectations.
Found Komali on Dallas top Margarita list. Took a group of 10 for my birthday. Since we had already been to another restaurant for tapas and drinks most of us shared plates. Portions were on the smaller side, presentation was average, but the food was very tasty. Service was good and the Margaritas did not disappoint!
I had the chicken mole. The mole sauce was good but the chicken itself was bland and very dry. It was my birthday which I put in the notes and they didn't even offer us a dessert menu to look at when we were finished with our meal. Over all a pretty mediocre experience.
My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was wonderful. I have celiac and the manager came out and reassured me that all the kitchen staff was aware and that they could make me anything I wanted from the menu! The food was delicious! I would go back!
Great place for authentic, upscale Mexican food. I lived in Mexico for six years, and the meal was reminiscent of the best meals I had in Mexico City and Cuernavaca. The service was outstanding--attentive but not overbearing. The General Manager came to check on us twice and stopped by again as we were leaving. I highly recommend Komali. Be sure and try the Chiles en Nogada!
