Koi Ratings and Reviews
First time at Koi whilst visiting from Dubai. We often travel to LA and whilst in LA, we dine out every night. We were on a 10 day visit this time and Koi was one of the best dinners we had overall. Food was great and the service by our waitress was excellent but unfortunately I cannot remember her name. For sure will be back again ...
I had an amazing dinner for my boyfriend's birthday! The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was great! We were seated immediately, had fantastic drinks and tried some our server's appetizer & roll recommendations, which were sooooo good! The desert (flourless chocolate lava cake) was to die for! This was my boyfriend's first time at Koi and he absolutely LOVED it! The evening went fabulously & we both will be back.
I come here at least once a year for at least 7 years. I LOVE this place! Our group of 4 usually spends at least 2-3 hours eating, drinking and conversing, and we happily part with at least 200 per couple of our hard earned dollars. I have NEVER had a bad server and don't expect that I ever will. Just for a little more perspective we also drive 45 mins to an hour in traffic to get here...still worth it.
I have eaten the best cod in my life. Even if I ate only this one meal it would be worth it to buy a ticket to LA and come back to eat it again. But fortunately we have eaten much more. Sushi was delicious and delicate. Salmon was good, but nothing compares to that cod, I was speechless when I tasted it. For dessert we had cheesecake and creme brulee, both delicious. Service was outstanding and the whole dinner was an experience we will never forget.
My partner and I came here for Dine L. A. with a $50 pre-fixe menu that had 4 courses. We were skeptical that it would fill us up, but it did! The waiter was very attentive and did a fantastic job of attending to our table. The food and drinks were also great! We are so happy to have tried it. We are excited to come back again.
We LOVED our experience at Koi. I haven't been there in years. The food, the ambiance, and the service were SPECTACULAR!! We had the Greens Salad, Salmon, Black Cod, and the Gelino Roll. They were all INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend this place! It is a NEW FAVORITE!!
I've lived in LA for 11 years and only just now had my first visit to Koi. I hear it's very expensive but the Dine LA menu is phenomenal! I dined with two friends and we tried everything they had to offer and not one dish disappointed. It was so good I'm considering returning again before Dine LA is over!!
Arrived and checked in 5 mins prior to my reservation. Was not seated for another 50 mins! Whats the point of having a reservation if you can not honor the time? I understand a short delay but 45 mins is excessive. Checked back with the front desk multiple times and would ask how much longer, was being told they didn’t want to disappoint me and would not quote how much longer the wait for our table would be. Seems the front end of the restaurant could use some help.
Once seated the experience was great. Food was very good and our server was quick and attentive. Such a shame we started off on the wrong foot.
we have been coming here for years and Koi never disappoints. From the warm welcome we get from Ricky, the manager to the excellent service by staffers like Tony and Angelo, we always feel taken care of. We brought some friends from out of town and the food was delicious - from rolls, to rock shrimp tempura, miso cod, hamachi with jalapeño and truffle oil - all were fantastic. Great food in a sleek, classy atmosphere. DOMO, Koi!
Koi is simply awesome. It never disappoints with the quality in all aspects always at a high level. My wife and I go a few times a year for a special night out. We took a close friend this past Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. It was perfect. Each dish we ordered, brought a laugh from us at her food orgasmic response. She is a foodie and knows restaurants but exclaimed it was the best meal she had ever had out.
The service was impeccable, both quick and courteous. We always have the feeling the servers there love working there, since we experience their big smiles and upbeat attitude. The atmosphere is so great. Relaxing and upscale without feeling pretentious.
We have never had a dish we didn't love. It really comes down to what foods excite you. Key amazing dishes for us is the Sticky Rice with Tuna, Salmon Carpaccio, Kobe Beef Potstickers, Baked Crab Hand Roll, Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll and of course for appetizers Edamame and Roasted Shishito Peppers are a must.
Koi is the best sushi in all of LA in our opinion. It is essentially our favorite restaurant here period. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this wonderful West Hollywood gem.
