Expensive, mediocre food and bad service.

Ambiance was good, but not sure if I'll go back again.

The service was phenomenal! Our waiter was Phenomenal!
And their was a tall Asian guy in a suit walking around.. i think he was the manager, he was phenomenal as well! He was making sure every table was taken care of... great staff! Great service! Horrible food .. what happened KOI ??!

The food was not good at all! the lobster tacos were disgusting it tasted like imitation lobster! and the guacamole was store bought like the pre-made ones you buy at Pavilions.. it started to turn brown as soon as it hit our plates. The crispy onion yellowtail sashimi was just OK.. the spicy tuna on crispy rice was not even good.

“Sushi Time” On “Crescent Heights” has way better tasting sushi than KOI. We were extremely disappointed and it’s very pricey for it to taste horribly. I used to go to KOI years ago and the food was amazing! What happened?
We will not be returning.. :(

Ricky son the manager was great. The food was amazing and the waiters were very humble. However there was an arab guy he was a host who was COMPLETELY rude and disrespectful. I was celebrating a special occasion and this man ruined my entire time with the family. I was a regular there but with this rude man working there I will never go back again. I wish someone actually takes action from the management towards his behavior or at least make him apologize for this terrible customer service.

First and foremost the food was fantastic specifically the salmon carpaccio and the koi crispy rice. They were amazing and truly happy we tried them. Following that everything was great except for our server decided to spend 10-20 minutes flirting with a customer at the sushi bar after he had finished eating and was about to leave rather than take our order. Thankfully the what I assume was the manager came by and took our order in her place. So he's the true hero. We will definitely be back.

The food was absolutely divine, if your looking to pay that bit extra for some amazing Japanese definitely give Koi a try!
The waitress was an absolute angel but unfortunately we did get a bit of attitude from one of the woman working at the front desk which put a dampener on the evening. The miso cod is TO DIE FOR!!!
Wonderful place, definitely worth a visit!

We showed up and spent a considerable amount of money!!!
Why did you send me an email telling me that I missed the reservation?

Was running late and called to tell them so. Restaurant was 70% empty!!

This is getting monotonous and time wasting.

Please confirm that I was there, and please email me to that effect.

If this continues, I can go back to the old fashioned way of making reservations!!!

Thankyou!

I rarely if ever give 5 stars. In this case I had no choice, everything is literally that good at Koi! Ask for Seth he is absolutely priceless. Incredible service, great “bed side manner” and completes the experience perfectly.

All other servers are excellent as well!! Expensive BUT value is tremendous.

This was my first time at Koi and I had a superb time there. The food was above average and their specialty dishes were very tasty. They also had amazing service. My server was always around when I needed her. The only bad thing I have to say about this dining experience was my order of Yuzu. Most sushi places I went too never charged me for Yuzu. If your spending $600 for 4 people, I think they couldve just gave me that on the house. Honestly, I dont mind getting charged for it but if you are charging me at least make it worth the value. They literally put tiny drops of yuzu and I'm not even exaggerating when I say they put few drops. Overall Koi was good but a little letdown at the end.

Joey our waiter was exceptional! He was full of suggestions and guided us towards ordering the right amount of food for all of us. Since we’re not from LA we won’t be back for a while, but we plan on returning next time we’re on the west coast. Lychee margaritas- YUM!

We were taken care of with great attention. I am slightly disabled and they were extra special with their guidance. The food was exceptional. They have a very varied menu with choices of delicious sushi as well as traditional food. We had a vegetarian with us and she was able to find some interesting options. Try their butterscotch pudding for dessert---the memory of it still makes me smile.

Koi is one of our favorites. Everything is prepared perfectly, and the service was outstanding. Some of my guests enjoyed hot food, and the black Cod was one of the best we have ever tasted. Several of us had sushi, and everything was a cut above (pun not intended). From the baby yellowtail sashimi to the spicy tuna on crispy rice, everthing is extraordinary. Even the California roll was special and delicious. Cocktails were excellent, and we had a wonderful dinner. The patio was quiet enough where we could actually have a conversation. How novel.
Looking forward to an excuse to go back.

Although the food was tasty, it is quit expensive for what you get. The setting is very dark, but its quit and romantic. Its a good place to go on a special occasion, but not every night. Dinner for two, with one drink each was $175.
