Great food. Choices between Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes.
Dinner with the wife
We had a wonderful dinner at Koi after seeing a play.
We were so happy to get a reservation for 5 people as it fills up quickly on a Saturday evening. I should’ve taken pictures of the food because it was beautifully
Presented. I hadn’t been to Koi for a while but will definitely return soon. It really was delicious.
Great menu and service. Wine list could use some improvement but otherwise really fun experience
Casually elegant atmosphere provides delightful environment to enjoy superbly prepared meals from an unusually extensive menu. Service is attentive and friendly. It can get noisy if the room is full and the background music is playing (rather loudly), but at times when the room isn't jammed, conversation is easy. This is a restaurant that is definitely worth multiple visits.
Best Chinese food on North Shore. I’m not a sushi fan so I can’t comment
The food and service were outstanding. The Sesame Combination was especially delicious.
Good food, decent waitress, hostess did not greet us saying good by.
The food is consistently good here. Our waiter, thin and bald, seemed to be very put out by our requests and he was never around when we needed him!!!!! We come here quite often. We will make sure NEVER to have him serve us again!!!!!
Great service, but very loud. Hard to talk at a table for four.
I liked the variety of on the lunch menu but my order was incorrect initially.
Was evident that the waitress was new and so did not know the menu extensively. However manager was right there to jump in a help whenever needed. Place is trying a little too hard to be fancy in my opinion but the food is good, people are friendly. Happy hour deals if you sit at the bar are FANTASTIC!
We have been here dozens of times, and loved it every time... until this visit.
First, I’ll say the food was as delicious as always. But that’s only part of what keeps you coming back.
The young waitress was obviously new as she forget our wine order, seemed overwhelmed at her job and we had to ask for the check and a to-go container 4 times.
The music was uncharacteristically loud for Koi. Other patrons and even our busboy said so, wonder why it took so long for them to lower it.
Was it horrible? No. But if this was our first time it would have been our last
Lovely Mother's Day dim sum brunch
We came for mothers day dim sum brunch and had a really miserable experience. We ordered two items immediately and then some more when the server came with our drinks. We then waited for over half an hour as people who came after us were served. Then some of the food came out, but not all of it. Some of the food was OK (not great) but the short ribs were so tough and rubbery they were inedible. When the first food we ordered finally came out after everything else, the manager apologized and said it would be complimentary. The service was not good--the room seemed understaffed and our multiple dirty plates remained too long on the table. I'm not normally one to register complaints but this was a real bummer (it was my mothers' day treat). I've had some less than satisfactory meals with you recently, but this is the breaking point. It's such a shame, the room is lovely, the location is great. This could be my go-to location if the food and service were palatable. Your food was great when you first opened 15-20 years ago. What happened?
We have dined at this restaurant many times. Our reservation times are always honored on time, with little to no wait time. I usually get the roasted duck on the bone - I love the way they prepare this meal, and coupled with the steamed bok choy side, it is an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The plum sauce which comes with the order is an excellent addition to the crispy skin and rich taste of the duck meat. At our last visit, we also ordered the walnut chicken. It was also excellent. The steamed edamame side is always a good choice for an appetizer. This past visit, the restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday night, just before Mother’s Day. The drink service was slower than usual, and we had a to wait a long time for our drinks to be served and the side order of California Roll to arrive to our table. But, other than these two isolated issues, the service was attentive and the food was excellent, and despite the crowd, the noise level was not obtrusive.
Food was excellent & Joh’s Service & suggestions were top notch!
Sushi was ok, service was fair, had 3 different servers helping and the host, not sure why. A tad too much truffle oil on one of the sushi specials. Octopus salad was enough to share between 2 people. Spider roll was good!
Great maki and dim sum. Attentive service. Whole front opens up in nice weather like today. Great place.
We took a friend there for lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. We could actually hear each other, which is not easy for my >70 year old ears. We will be back.
Always a great place to go with a good mix of menu items. We do love the dim sum on the weekends and can not get enough of the fiery edamame.
The food was absolutely delicious from the won ton soup to the sushi to the coconut milk shrimp. Our server had a phenomenal personality and was able to describe the dishes as if he were reporting for the Food Channel. He even made suggestions for how to jazz up the left overs. I look forward to the nicer weather when we can go there when they open their plate glass windows to the outside.
The food and service was very good. However, the noise level in the front of the restaurant made it very difficult to carry-on a conversation.
Great food, service, ambience and location
Everything was seamless--from the reservations to the cheerful service. When we indicated we wanted to split two entrees, they came with extra plates and serving spoons--a nicety that many restaurants don't provide until patrons demand them. The lightly breaded lemon chicken was especially delicious, and the gratis maki roll appetizer was appreciated.
Excellent service and nice ambiance. The beef dumplings were tasty and the other entrees were okay ~ a bit oily and the pork/tofu dish had a very unusual flavor. Mapo Tofu is one of our favorite Chinese dishes and this one was not like any we have ever had before.
There was 15 of us and Koi’s Jackie Kane was very friendly and accommodating.
The day of our Easter lunch the staff took care of all
of us. The service was excellent. The waiters who helped us were very hardworking!
We had the chance on Easter Sunday to do the dim sum brunch and were not disappointed! Delicious, with fresh ingredients. Service was fantastic. (Thanks, David!)
We love Koi which is why we chose it for our mom’s 93rd birthday celebration. We especially enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein, the veggie fried rice, the Mongolian beef and the sesame beef. Portions are very shareable and we even had food leftover to take home. Our server was new and she did a great job with our large party. And the front desk staff made us feel like family members. They couldn’t have been nicer to my mom! We’ll be back for sure.
Service was great, but our rice dishes were very large, enough for 2 people. Also, rice dish was too bland.
I used to love this place. the service is still very good, but the food has really suffered a steady decline. Koi was one of my favorite Asian restruants, but is not on the bottom of the list, and I will not return. There are many more quality asian restruants taht are a mu
One of our favorites! Great for families and special occasions. Always delicious.
Delicious food and attentive staff
Food was just ok, but we did sit a long time and enjoyed our lunch.
The food is always good, marvelous. I can't think of an Asian restaurant that's anywhere near as good.
Very, very disappointing. The food was very bland - you could literally eat the chili paste right off a spoon. And all the dishes were packed with green peppers. The “gourmet” tea selection was not only very expensive, the jasmine tea was horrible with a distinct under taste and lacked any floral notes. Our lava cake lacked lava (so .... just warm cake?) and the service was haphazard, at best. All in all, a huge disappointment for a family desperately in search of a Chinese restaurant as good as Dee’s on Armitage was.
Food was ok but service was not very good, felt mostly forgotten by my server. Was also given incorrect information when we asked about the ingredients on one dish and the cocktail i ordered had a strange color and odd flavor.
Long time customer-- sorry to say that lately it seems to be slipping. Management is not paying attention to important details.
Short and sweet review...
Great service from the staff and management. Participated in their Table 23 charitable partnership program. Definitely a good experience.
