KOBE Japanese Steak House - White Marsh
We offer our guest with a dinner theater type of experience where our Hibachi Chefs entertain guest through their live shows, and guest can enjoy high quality Japanese Hibachi cuisine.
Just a great place to go
Food was ok, services was ok, what was disturbing was, with everything going with COVID 19, we were eating at the sushi section, saw maybe the manager or assistant manager? Not sure, he was asian wearing glasses standing on like the greeting table before entering the hibachi area. He picked up a toothpick from inside (the part that they refill from) jokes with someone he works with then decided to put it back in from where he got it from!!! When we saw that, we like are you serious?! But he didnt cared and continued joking around. If he can do that around this time, it made us question real how much they care about cleaning the restaurant and prepping the food.
Kobe is a good Japanese Steak House, lots of fun when you get a great chef. Ours was outstanding. My only complaints are fried rice is extra (I'd rather have rice than noodles), that the cost is getting pricey and that no matter how many people are at your table, the same amount of food is prepared. There were only 9 people at our table, so we had a couple of vacant seats and there was plenty of food for all and we had leftovers to bring home. Previous experiences when there are no vacancies at the table, there are no leftovers.
This place used to be the best hibachi in town. That is NOT the case anymore. The food quality alone is enough for me to not return.
Undercooked rice, undercooked scallops, a total lack of the flavor that used to make my mouth water in anticipation. The chef had a total lack of awareness to anyone at his table. He would start distributing the food at the opposite side, seemingly forgetting that he needed enough for the people at the other side. A buddy and myself both had literally HALF portions to the people at the other end of the table and every time he seemed surprised by it. Total lack of awareness and effort on his part.
This place has been going downhill for awhile now but after last nights experience I will never be back. It’s a shame really. Very disappointing.
A family favorite. The communal hibachi grill with knives flipping and flaming surprises always thrills kids and adults alike. Prices are moderate, mostly between $25-$35. This place is very popular, especially after 5:00. Walk-ins are welcome. But if you have a party of 4 or more, reservations are highly recommended. In either case, be prepared for a wait.
We made reservations for 8pm, came 10minutes early and instead of being shown to our table, we were added to the waiting queue and told sitting would take 40-60minutes. In essence anticipating high customer demand and reserving a table well-ahead of time is completely meaningless at Kobe. They simply don't understand the concept of reservations.
Hubby and I took our kids here for dinner. This was my kids first time and they loved it!!
My husband and I love KOBE my only complaint would have to be was we had a reservation and still waiting a hour to be seated and food portions are getting smaller. For the prices the portions sizes shouldn’t be smaller when gratuity is adding to your check. Food was good though!!!
Made a reservation but wasn’t seated until and hour and a half after our reserved time. Not ok.
The Cook was excellent and I loved his energy and entertainment!
Amazing food. Amazing service
The is always good, but I wouldn't make reservations through the app, I'm never on the list after getting a confirmation
Made reservations and never was able to get seated because they were behind
Despite having a reservation we arrived 15 minutes prior to, and still had to wait overall 45 minutes. It delayed our night. I truly expected better.
cook may have been new very forgetful , portions uneven , and fish served to me undercooked 🤢
We were unfortunately in an unfavorable very cold before and after food preparation. I mentioned to the manager who said due to the cold weather the vents send cold air through the space. We had to sit with coats on the entire time.
The waitress was great, she took our orders in a timely fashion, the food was excellent, the way the food was prepared was great
Had reservations for 7 didn’t get seated till about 8 ... waitress who took drink order needs a attitude adjustment . Overall good was good ... cook was a little pushy with shrimp in the mouth act but love Kobe’s just need some fine turning. Also they should offer if the customer wants the soup and salad
Good time. Good food. Good service.
I had 2 reservations for 10 people for 730. We didn't get seated until after 8. The waitress seated all 9 children at a table in the front and all the adults at the table in the back of the restaurant so parents were running back and forth to check on the children. It was my daughters sweet 16 and we spent close to $2000 there. It would have been nice to have the whole party sit together. The chef at my table was semi personable. The food was cold by the time I got everything on my plate. Overall it was mediocre. It could have been better...
Fun time. Went for wife’s birthday with the kids.
Food was very good & plenty of it. Wait at the table for a cook to come was quite long. Restroom not clean.
We had a great experience celebrating a birthday at Kobe’s. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
It was fun if you never had hibachi before. Service was so so, nothing special to mention. Food seemed a lot, noodles and rice, but not the main dish. Chicken and filet mignon were both overcooked (never had children that tough before); also no taste, only salty soy sauce. The add-on gratuity was tacky and they still expected you to give more. If service was not good, how could they expect good "tips"?? Will definitely not return to this place. Like some reviewers said, the place "stinks".
WE did not sit at a cooking table. WE sat out front at a single table. The steak was over cooked. I asked for med and was served well done. I did not send it back because we did not want to wait for them to recook the meal.
Awful service and we won’t be returning. Upon arrival we had to wait another 25 minutes before being seated, even though we made a reservation. We were seated at an 8 person table but with 10 people (we had 4 in our party). We were crammed together with no room to eat or move. Drinks were never refilled and as soon as the chef finished cooking boxes were brought out with our checks, no time to actually eat the food or relax. It felt rushed, crowded and not a pleasant experience for the price you pay for hibachi. Just seemed like they wanted you in and out as fast as possible. The quality of the food wasn’t bad but every person working there looks miserable and the whole experience felt very disjointed. The restaurant overall wasn’t the cleanest and the bathrooms were gross.
A fun way to catch up with a friend and celebrate the new year
Unfortunately this is one of few times I’ve went to KOBE and did not enjoy the service nor the food. According to the waiter they were short staff due to the holiday. However the hibachi chef wasn’t great either. The fried rice taste burnt and the shrimp were salty. Guess they weren’t prepared for the holiday rush
Great place. Always a hit with friends and family visiting from out of state. They do a gem rear job hiring cooks... in almost 20 years, I have never had a bad one!
Only issue I had was the server(young Caucasian girl) assuming that the 2 ladies next to me and my good girlfriend (African American) were together since we are the same race.... we did not interact with them one bit for her to assume we was a party of 4
We had a nice time. Some food was too salty. Fun experience for our family!
Food was ok, a little overcooked for our liking, but overall it was ok. One thing to note, even though we had a reservation, they do forst come first serve. The wait wasnt terrible, but not what was expected when having a reservation.
Birthday dinner for my son. Our family enjoyed our meal and service. As usual, very consistent. Thank you.
Just okay - food was not great and they included gratuity even for a party of 2 so service was not outstanding.
always a great experience when my family and I visit.
Great food! Great experience overall. Great for birthdays.
Great food, great service and we love the "show" the chef puts on.
Kobe has great food. It is not the ideal place to go if you want to talk. It is very loud and energetic. Make sure to go in a larger group in order to fill the table and sit where you want.
Food and service were great and they had our reservation ready. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for hibachi.
We made the reservation only because it was on trip advisor. When we got there they said they do not participate in Open Table so we received no points for our dinner. Seems like a scam
