   Dinner took a very long time. Apparently a chef walked out. We were ask one - five to many times if we were ok and if we wanted to move closer to the live music. Stake was good. Sides we cold and lacking. The sweet potato casserole was flat and tasteless. The crumble on top was nothing but 1 tablespoon of brown sugar a few pecans or maybe walnuts in an oval ramekin. Disappointing evening the idea is there small place wants to mimic a big boy stake house Has the meat supply and possibly the a meat chef but psst not all the other things. Staff was kind and friendly Host staff was OVERLY attentive possibly over compensating for the delay and cold sweet potato ( like pre prepared and not heated up long enough) and long delay in meal served.

   Amazing! Best steak in town! Great service, drinks, breads, salads, dirty rice and wagyu of course.

   Friday night, I was fortunate to get to attend the soft opening of Kobe Club Steakhouse. I worked in fine dining throughout college, so my expectations were high while understanding a soft opening might have some kinks to work through. I had a marvelous experience & meal. The owner Will greeted my mother & me at the door. Our booth was lined with velvet, making the seats very comfortable. My mom & I have horrible backs due to a car accident I was in & her needing a hip replacement, so comfy seats that don’t add our pain can make a huge difference in our enjoyment. Our server Maddy was very sweet & attentive. My mom & I had Bloody Mary’s & they were fantastic. I would come back just for the Bloody Mary. We started our meal with their bread & their marvelous flavored butter. Then our first course was shrimp cocktail. I’m a major seafood lover & have had shrimp cocktail at countless places, but I’ve never had it like this. It usually always has cocktail sauce, but I didn’t miss the sauce at all because the shrimp was marinated & had the tomatoes & onions with it. Our second course was a salad with tomatoes, pepperonci, Kalamata olives, & a curried avocado dressing. The dressing was addicting & the flavors went together wonderfully. The stars of the show were the entrees. My mom had the filet & I had the bone in ribeye. We also split a Flounder Opelousas. We loved the flounder so much we scarfed it down forgetting to take pictures of it. I cannot recommend this dish enough. The fish is tender & mild & the sauce with the seafood on top is DELICIOUS! The steaks are remarkably seasoned & cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive & welcoming. The owner Will came to the table multiple times to check on us & ask for feedback. The place officially opens in 2 weeks & I hope everyone here checks them out & supports them. Will is very passionate about using local ingredients & for the food to be fresh but elevated while infusing flavors from Corpus Christi TX.
