Awful. Poor excuse for Asian food. Bland, small portions, and wayyyy overpriced. Won't go back......so totally not worth it.
This is a great place for the perfect date night. The ambiance is beautiful we sat at a table with a wonderful view of the river and the downtown Toledo skyline. The food was amazing from appetizer to dessert. I recommend the cast iron hibachi chicken, spicy salmon roll, and raspberry cheesecake. The salmon roll was absolutely delicious and the cheesecake was so light and creamy. To top it off our server was awesome. He made sure we had a perfect evening. I can’t wait to come back again and I am really looking forward to enjoying dinner and drinks on that beautiful patio on a nice summer night. This restaurant is definitely a local gem.
Enjoyed the sushi and the Main Street boil. There was plenty of shrimp and huge mussels in the boil. We also had the pot stickers. Tipped off with a nice view on the river.
Lovely place - one of our go-to date night destinations.
The bagged seafood was expensive and over cooked.
Nice job! Enjoyed the food. Service was excellent.
I Only got one straw for both drinks. Only had one set of silverware till we had to ask for another one. Waitress said she was leaving then rushed us on the check. Then after she left nobody came to ask if we needed boxes or anything. But we asked and then received some. On the bright side of things my food was good and the view outside is beautiful.
If you want an experience GO to Kobe Bay! We made a reservation for 7:45pm The wait was extremely long, wait staff unorganized. We ordered an appetizer, drinks and our meal. We got drinks, appetizer and 1 of 2 meals. The first order was cold on arrival AND we did not get silverware to eat. Went to ask for silverware and they said it’s over there. Then it wasn’t where they said it would be. The second order of food did not come out until 45 minutes later. We were cashing out at 9:20. We could have gone to the grocery store and made our own food in that time. We were offered 10% off of our bill. But everyone in our area made the experience pleasant with jokes. A table had silverware but no food and offered to trade silverware for food. This place is completely mismanaged. The egg rolls were good.
My favorite place in the area to go eat seafood ! Amazing crab boil, great portions and amazing atmosphere. Gets pretty packed most days and it is understandable because the food was spectacular. Definitely worth a visit.
The garlic seasoned combo with shrimp, corn, potatoes and crab, lobster was delicious. It was a total mess but that made it all the more fun. The atmosphere and live music were great! Would love to come back another time.
My girlfriend and I came here for a romantic weekend dinner night. We ordered the boil seafood, Bang Bang shrimp, and the Pork BBQ. The dishes are great. Highly recommend! The restaurant is next to the river so the view is great! One thing to suggest for improvement is getting more servers so can cut the waiting time for table serving. Will come back for sure!
My wife and I drove one hour from Michigan to Kobe Bay for dinner because lots of my friends strongly recommended it to us. We were very happy that we listened! The food is so good that we ended up eating a lot. We also love the location where it's river front and has a quiet and relaxing river side walk. Highly recommend!
Best view in Toledo downtown! Our bay crab boil was absolutely amazing, beautiful atmosphere and our server, Miles, was attentive! He always made sure we had exactly what we needed despite them being super busy. Definitely recommend this location!
We got seated shortly after we arrived for our reservation. After 25 min someone brought us water and after 30 min without a waitress to greet us, we left. Will not be back. Poorly staffed
We came here to have a family dinner and to enjoy the July 4th fireworks. Kobe Bay has the best view on the Docks. Live music brings lots of enjoyment to the dinner. The dinner is great! The waitress Emma is lovely and helpful making the dinner very pleasant! Highly recommend!
Wonderful BBQ and super personal service. The food was fresh and enchanting. Will easily recommend this spot to others. Reasonable rates and generous portions. Good job.
This place is amazing and broad, the meals was enchanting and the prices were very inexpensive. fast, effective service and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Been here a few times over the past few years. We have always enjoyed it. Service has been good and the staff has always friendly. Lately we enjoyed new menu with smoked ribs and Bay crab boils which were really, really good. Looking forward to having that again.
Just finished the dinner at Kobe Bay. It was a wonderful experience! The Host and the waitress Emma are extremely nice and helpful. The dishes are delicious! Here are some of my orders that I would highly recommend to everyone! They are Bang Bang shrimp, Georgia Pulled Pork, St. Louis Style Ribs and Smoked BBQ pulled pork Nachos. I will certainly come again and again!
The food here is amazing. Got it to go and everything was still perfect by Maumee River. Great brisket, smoked chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had, definitely recommend the Mac and cheese as well. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while.
Great spot. Miles was great and very attentive. Food service was quick but tasty!
Is not sushi anymore. Is bbq. Place lacks management, if there are any at all they shouldn't be higher then a dish washer. Was a unorganized free for all, basically no one knew what to do and were kids running around upstairs.but a couple employees tried to make it right. In the end the bbq was good.
Not great hibachi
Kobe Bay has a cool vibe with a view of downtown Toledo and the Maumee River. The service was good, but the food was only “okay.”
Food was just ok. Service was good and the pricing was not bad.
Food was very good. Service was outstanding and waiter was very helpful and nice.
Nice decor, good food, good service
The first time I ever been there the food was amazing(back in 2019). They had hibachi and the portion sizes were great for the value. This time around was my second time going. Thinking it will be the same as last time. I saw no hibachi tables (I assumed maybe because of covid they weren’t doing it so it was understanding) when it came to ordering our food, I picked the steak hibachi from the menu but you couldn’t choose how you wanted your steak cooked (only medium but I promise you mine was well done.) The portion sizes were awful for $22. The steak was well done and not medium, the miso soup was so watered down, the fried rice was dry and tasted like frozen fried rice and everyone’s meal was not even warm. At the end, the waiter messed up a few checks (I normally don’t get mad if they do, we all make mistakes, some people were just missing a few items.) If you have 8 or more people, they added gratuity which is understandable and it was 18%. But the checks that were messed up he added a 30%. So we asked if they could redo them because he did that. I wouldn’t recommend going here again. I normally don’t write long reviews. Our reservation was for 7 and we didn’t leave there till 9:15. The service was slow, the food wasn’t good and the atmosphere was bland. I heard they are under new management as well. If you are going to be a restaurant that says they have hibachi, at least let customers know that it’s from the kitchen, not the whole hibachi table atmosphere.
We enjoyed our meals. The food is good. We had the seafood boil. The only negative side is that our crab legs were so small they were virtually not edible. That was disappointing. The sushi was good. We had the shrimp tempura and veggies appetizer. While it was tasty, the grease factor was higher than what we could handle. The service and atmosphere was awesome. However, the music was a bit loud so we were pleased with our table location far from the music so we were able to enjoy each other's company. We plan to return.
Quite pleasantly surprised. What stood out were the riverfront view across downtown Toledo and the vibrant expansive dining area. Ample room in between tables and the lofty two story ceiling did help ease the conversation. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. Will definitely visit again.
The food is always good, we went for sushi happy hour. 1/2 off rolls. I recommend the Lobseter Fest or Captain Dan Rolls.
The service was awesome...our waitress was quick, friendly and if it werent for her my review would be less than what this is now. The food was just ok have had better at other places. Not what we expected.
The atmosphere or the place itself seemd like it was in shambles or in the middle of construction or demolition. Not impressed and probably wont go back.
The chicken basket only had 4 pieces of chicken and small pieces, should be more for the price you pay for them. But other then that the food was good just sad that the hibachi is closed.
Great place for friends and family to get together!!
The service was very poor we had to wait about two hours before we could even start the hibachi the food was good but the service was very poor I was very surprised because this could be a very successful restaurant if they had enough workers and they need to clean up a bit the patio last year when we had dinner on the patio was very dirty, This day the fifth March 5 was very important because it was my mothers 90 birthday and my son’s birthday so they were very disappointed as well We tried to make the best of it we considered leaving a few times.. I would recommend copies only if they clean up and get some help.
I was so looking forward to the evening, but I was so disappointed with the experience. My first warning should have been that there was hardly a wait when we arrived, which is unusual for a hibachi grill on any friday night, let alone Valentine's day. The host was extremely disorganized about whom was to follow him where. The descriptions I had seen of the restaurant never mentioned that their table seating was family style, if I wanted to sit with strangers I would have requested a grill and at least been entertained. The wait staffed seemed to be good, but I wouldn't know, for some reason the host/manager/I'm not quite sure his position waited on the table I was sat at. There was one other couple at my table and one couple at another table, the two large tables behind me were empty for at least an another half an hour. The host took a long time to come and take drink orders, he at least took dinner orders when he brought beverages back. Soup and salads took a long time to come out, I'm used to hibachi grills bringing those rather quickly. Mine was brought out first, and my boyfriend had to wait until the host seated someone to ask where his was, and by ask I mean get this guys attention to have him come over to the table to ask where his soup and salad were, cause the host was seating people while talking on the restaurant's wireless phone. The host apologized, but his apology never really stopped and he kept patting my boyfriend on the shoulder and it was just really off putting. Finally our meals arrived, and we were unfortunately very disappointed. We both had ordered steak/filet, and it was very tough to eat. Mine looked decently cooked on the out side, but was pretty raw in the middle. There were no seasonings, like salt, pepper, or sesame, used at all. The food was edible but didn't taste great. The check was slow, the host never checked in on us. O saw enough staff, but the place was so terribly unorganized. 0 of 10, do not recommend.
Really good food, quick service, lots of food for value
My only complaint was that the bus boy did not do a thorough job cleaning the hibachi tables, never once did he flip the rag over nor did he ever go back over the table again with another towel to ensure the cleaner doesn’t streak. But unfortunately he didn’t and still left food pieces on the table still and put clean plates and silverware down still. My advice is to spend more time checking tables after your bus boys clean.
Very fun. Loved the staff!
