Kobe An - LoHi
We ordered a verity of sushi and the dynamite shrimp appetizer. It was all delicious. Definitely want to go back to try the 2 person bowls on the menu.
Just returned from Japan and had to share the shabu shabu experience with our loved ones. The shabu shabu was delicious. The gyoza at Kobe An are unique and soooo good. Will definitely return just to have those again and the shabu shabu to remind us of our trip. Nice sake list too.
So, so impressed with the whole experience. Our server was friendly and helpful, too. The food tasted fresh, and I loved the decor. Great restaurant! I recommended shabby shabby here to several people while we were sitting there.
Tonight was a bit quieter, probably because it was new year's day and we were one if two tables seated, but service was good tonight! Daisy checked on us multiple times over the course of our meal and brought us everything we needed. Definitely will return to have some more delicious Japanese hot pot.

What a restaurant! The patio dining was perfect two nights ago! Get the shabu shabu.. we seek it out all over the world, and this place is on point!

Service was a little slow and menu doesn’t really tell you everything you’re paying for. I understood paying $3 for the broth and $12 for my meat, but an automatic $18 for my vegetables??? that I only picked off of?? Hate hidden prices. Other than that, service was okay and the rest of the food was pretty good. Not my first choice for shabu shabu.
Our hot pots are shared meals. To start a pot for 2 it is $18. This includes vegetables, noodles, rice, and sauces. So if your vegetarian that is a pot for 2 for $18. If you like proteins you just choose which one you like, we recommend 1 per person. If each of you chose rib eye that would be $24 making the total cost $42. The miso broth is an upgrade for $3 per pot. We do not do single pots so we recommend you bring a friend, although many do order a pot to themselves and take some home

The waitress spilled a whole tray of miso soup onto our table and onto my two grandsons on that side of the table. One was quite wet. The waitress apologized several times, but the manager never did come over to make sure no one was burned, or if he could do anything to make up for a poor experience. No one WAS injured, just so very poorly handled. It seemed like it was a joke to them. They laughed about it several times. I had plans to take them to the Buell Theater after dinner for their first fine arts experience, and my poor grandsons had to go wet in their nice clothes. I think the miso soup will wash out, but it was DEFINITELY not the experience that I had envisioned of the evening. Really, really poor job, Kobe An Lohi. Shame on you.

Unfortunately this location has gone way down hill. We were one of two tables when we arrived and it for forever for them to come to the table. We continuously had to ask for service. The food then took forever to come, waters remained empty, orders forgotten, and for the price it’s just not justifiable.
Really good food and service. Enjoyed the ambiance on the patio.

So delicious! It really reminded me of the shabu shabu that I had when I was in Japan. The servers were so kind and very attentive.
The food was great along with the lighting . Food came out quick along with good servers a little slow but there smiles made up for it along with positive attitudes .

Food is amazing. From the diablo roll to the sukiyaki, this place nails it. My friends had the shabu shabu and I went with the sukiyaki - both are great but i prefer the taste of the sukiyaki broth. Will definitely go back
We enjoyed our second visit to Kobe An during Restaurant Week. As expected, the restaurant was full, but our server was excellent and we enjoyed a leisurely three course meal. We were able to carry on a conversation despite every table being full, always a plus. We had shabu shabu, which was excellent. We've also eaten sushi at the bar and enjoyed a good conversation with the owner, Marco. Kobe An has the casual feel of a neighborhood restaurant, but the sophistication of great cuisine. It's become a new favorite!

Overall it was a great experience. The male server was nice and picked up on our humor quickly. I would say the restaurant was understaffed when we were there. Everyone at our table has severed tables at some point in our lives. When we first got there is was dead. But as a few tables trickled in, he was still the host, bartender, server, and buser. I know there's a fine line when it comes to correct staffing. especially before the Saturday dinner rush, but this guy was definitely over worked. Additionally, it took too long for our food to come out. The restaurant was nearly empty, but our apps too a long time and then there was a long delay for our shabu shabu. We had the cheapest ribeye. I would assume all of this food was previously chopped and prepped. I know the broth would have been as well. Then the server Brought out the veggies and broth, but had to go behind the bar to make what looked like a margarita while we waited for plates, and the ribeye. The food is fun and tasted fine. In the future it would be nice to at least see a bar tender so the server can tend to the dining side of the establishment.
Was in Denver for the weekend and really wanted ramen. Booked a reservation for two and was in for a real surprise we when arrived and realized they do not have ramen, but shabu- shabu instead. We decided to stay and give it a try and boy were we glad we did! The food was delicious and the bottle of red wasn’t half bad either! We left pleasantly surprised and totally stuffed!
Delicious Shabu Shabu, mediocre service. I've had plenty of shabu shabu and it did not disappoint on a cold winter night. Our server misunderstood us and forgot to write down a drink order, and also charged for a $5 add on fee for rice & miso soup when I said I didn't want it. I think she was new and couldn't understand us over the music/noise and English wasn't her first language.
We LOVE Kobe An, so much so that I almost don't want the secret to get out. It's very close to us and such an awesome go-to for dinner.
I moved to Denver 3 years ago, and Kobe An has been my go-to sushi spot since I first came across them about a year ago. I've never tried their hot pots (I never have the willpower to say no to sushi), but they look and smell amazing, not to mention a fun experience for dinner! However, I have tried almost every sushi option they have to offer and they never disappoint! Fresh and delicious every time! I also wanted to address a review that I saw on this site in regards to Kobe An's apparent lack of sashimi or nigiri options. They DO have sashimi and nigiri options to choose from and they are great! These items are on the back of the sushi menu... also, the staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. If there is any question as to what items a restaurant does or doesn't offer, I feel like you can just ask the staff. Lastly, great happy hour and a beautiful restaurant. I'm excited for you to try it!

Our waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious!
The sushi was not high quality. Though they had big soups that looked great however, if you want sushi this isn’t the place to go. They did not even have nigri or sashimi to choose from which might be a pretty big red flag. The staff was nice. I wanted to warn them that the restaurant would probably not be around long. I’m sorry for the poor review.

Service was terrible, terrible. Had to ask for our waiter at least 3 times. The waiter seemed stressed as ever and clearly handling too many tables. In fact, it seemed he was handling all the tables.
I love how fun the Shabu-Shabu is! The ribeye melts in your mouth. Ramen Sliders and Tuba nigiri a must !!! Can’t wait to come back.
This is NOT the same Kobe An that is in Cherry Creek. Its ownership is different and the menu is extremely limited to Shabu Shabu, sukiyaki and a few maki rolls. The prices are quite high - the least expensive option for something with meat is $35 - $15 if you do all veggie. The smallest portion of meat is 8 oz, which I wish the waitress would have told us that we could spilt one order for 2 people, because it is just too much. You can take the leftover broth and veggies home, but they make you boil the meat before you go, so don’t plan to make a sanwhich at home with the leftover raw meat.
The neighborhood has minimal parking available and it is still in transition, making it not the best place to be walking at night.
For a better deal and more personality, stick the the Highlands. Better yet, for authentic Japonese at a more reasonable price, try the original Kobe An in Cherry Creek.

Food is always spectacular here. Service is always pretty crappy. Get them to get you everything you need and extra drinks. It may be 10-20 minutes before they come to your table again. I love the place, just wish any of the servers cared.
We went for the girlfriends birthday. Very mellow crowd on a Tuesday evening, to be expected. Service was very attentive, cheerful, and simply added to the experience. The restaurant had excellent appetizers, great sushi, good list of sake, and many other food options I was curious on trying at some point. I will definitely go back in the warmer months as they look like they have a great patio. This is a great spot in Lohi!
