The food was delicious! My only complaint was that people kept squeezing behind my chair at the table, bumping me and irrigating me taking a shortcut to exit and enter the restaurant that was obviously not designed for this purpose. Servers witnessed what was happening and did nothing.
The Lau Lau and drinks were delicious! The waitress also gave a little history which was nice to hear.
Food was excellent! Poke was the best.
The food was good, but quite overpriced to be expected at a resort hotel. The ambiance was great, as was the service. Wouldn’t likely go back due to the cost being way more than the food warranted.
The staff at KO are amazing, they’re genuinely kind and very attentive. It was awesome that chef Pang came around our table, who also sent out the appetizer platter as a gift because we were celebrating a birthday. My family and I really enjoyed our dinner and the staff of KO. We really appreciated our sever, Drew. As well as one of the cooks, Bernadette. Overall our experience at KO, was amazing.
Outstanding meal. Great service. Fresh fish
It was a lovely evening with great atmosphere and candles and leis and champagne for our 42nd anniversary! Great server and attention to detail. The food was outstanding and cocktails glorious! Mahalo, KO for being consistently delicious over the years!
One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! For an appetizer we had the lavender honey shrimp. Then I had the macadamia nut crust opa. It was the best cooked fish I’ve ever eaten. And for dessert, the Malasada is AMAZING!
WE ACTUALLY WENT TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW BECAUSE OF THE WELCOMING APPROACH FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS. WHILE THIS IS NOT ABOUT DINING, AS WE LEFT THE CAR PARK VALET ASKED ABOUT MY CAR AND WE BEGAN CHATTING. WHEN I TOLD HER THAT THE 12 YEAR OLD YOUNG LADY IN THE CAR WANTED TO COME BACK TO KO, THE VALET SAID "WAIT A MINUTE". SHE RETURNED WITH A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER LEI AND PREENTED IT TO ONE EXCITED 12 YEAR OLD!
My experience at Ko was top notch. The first thing that impressed me after the initial beauty of the setting was the wine list! I'm picky, and I felt like they had an outstanding selection, including a shiraz from the Barossa valley in Australia. Our waitress, Serena, was excellent. Our food was delicious, with all of the extras I expect from a fine dining restaurant, such as a specially prepared bread tray with three different spreads. My monchong was cooked in ti leaves, which were unwrapped at the table. The scallops were wonderful, but I do prefer braised/pan fried. The purple Hawaiian sweet potato was a lovely touch. Everything was prepared with expertise. I even received Kama'aina discount. I checked out their happy hour menu and it is very good, for those wondering. I'll be back! I had eaten dinner the night before at Ka'ana Kitchen at Andaz, and this experience at Ko really won me over, as Ka'ana was unremarkable in every category mentioned above.
Great way to spend our final evening in Maui. Great food and great service. Very nice evening.
The host, server and busser all deserved 5/5! The food, however, 2/5.
I have attended many community functions in the last 20 years and am very familiar with Chef Pang's food. It's always been one of the best or the best, comparing to other restaurants on the island or even the preparations of celebrity chefs around the globe.
Your server was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She exemplified passion while speaking of the history of Hawai'i, starting with the sugarcane era, and how the menu selections were heavily inspired by the many different cultures that have put their lives and dedication to what Maui is today.
We started dinner with the variety of rolls and beverage. Rolls were cold. But any rolls served warm always give one that "fresh of the oven, homemade" feel. Also, the two spreads beside the butter were odd. Even the butter could've been spiced a bit, like local honey-bee butter? The edamame was okay, but maybe add something in there; a Maui-grown ingredient. I personally didn't care of the Korean spread. I'd rather have some homemade guava, mango, pineapple, papaya or passion fruit-butter jelly than the Korean spread. An exotic tropical fruit that represented Hawaii would've been more ideal. Not sure if your guests enjoy the Korean or edamame spreads, but maybe encourage your servers to take a consensus and listen to the voice of the customers and go from there.
Granted is was about 92 degrees weather, the beer was not super cold. Let's pay attention to these little details that make a difference.
The assorted pupus (lumpia, kobe poke, and calamari) was just okay. The chili dipping sauce was okay and offered no wow-effect at all. And the two other dipping sauces, I don't know where those come from but they did not represent Maui or Hawai'i in any shape of form.
The main entree were okay, but the dessert was the best!
It would help to have air conditioning. It was hard to enjoy the wonderful food and staff in the stifling heat
The food was amazing! I ordered the special and I was glad I did. The flavors of the fish, the lobster, and kabocha were delicious!
We went for a last minute date night everything was great!! Will be going back
I know that its on the dish menu that its a vegie rice but please include also to ask guest on what they prefer vegie rice or white rice..not all wants vegie rice.the place is good.the service and server is the best..
Expected food to be top notch, but were disappointed. Service was great but drinks, appetizers and entree left a lot to be desired for the price.
Best meal I’ve had in many years. Everything was perfection. Our waiter was attentive to our every need, and even arranged to get us something we saw on the old online menu that wasn’t in the current one. Super fresh ingredients.
We had one the best meals of our lives at KO
We went with friends while staying at the Fairmont for a celebration of both of our Anniversary’s
Our waitress made our meal with her easy to relate to attitude, sweet disposition and attention to details
We were given great suggestions and good detail when we asked about the menu
Corrine was a true treasure and even helped us on our nexts days trip to Hana when we asked her opinion on our plans
We have fond memories of the tastes and vibes of our dinner
We will visit again
Over rated in every way possible. The food is less than mediocre and the experience is terrible value for the money.
Wonderful anniversary celebration
It was very hot at the table but food was good
The best part was the hostess. Very nice lady that accommodated our request and even brought me a gift. Food was very good but small portions.
We had the most special anniversary dinner here! The Moana mist drink, bread presentation, ahi tuna appetizer, and beautiful sunset view were amazing. The service was top notch.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Food was a little disappointing. We came back for the Lau Lau and were sad that it was not nearly as good. BLAND. So sad
Not a great date spot - better for families.
Great Place to eat
We ordered a pork chop and steak, both medium rare. Both came out medium well. Should have sent both back & regret that we didn’t. Usually the food is good but whoever was cooking was having a bad night. Ahi avocado appetizer was good as usual. Service excellent
Our waiter and busboy were awesome. Very attentive and made us feel welcome. The food was yummy. Love the Molakai sweet potatoes and fresh catch preparations. We visit Ko every time we're on Maui.
The experience pertaining to the staff and the food was excellent. The grounds of the hotel was wonderful. The only complaint we had was related to the mosquitoes or other bugs that bothered us while we ate.
Nice pricey food. Not super special or memorable but tasty
We dined at Ko twice during our recent stay. Very good value for the excellent service and food. We enjoyed the catch of the day (2/3 possible preparations) and the tempura sushi. The location is wonderful; bring sunglasses and enjoy the Maui sunset. The staff could not be nicer, no pretense, they just want to help you enjoy a wonderful evening. I hope we can return some day.
We consistently love Ko and love how they treat their Kama'aina. The Mauka Salad is my favorite salad on the island, I did not realize that shrimp and avocado can be added to it which makes it even more delicious. The fresh catch, oishi sushi, and fresh ahi self grilled on the hot rock were also outstanding. Add to this, the hospitality of Kris our server and we had a perfect lunch.
The food at Ko is amazingly good, and health conscious! We are very sensitive to any additives, and Ko is very clean. It is difficult to find places, especially restaurants at resorts and on the isles, that are as healthy and good and in such a nice setting. We went 3 times in our week on Maui. Leanne was our server and she is so exceptionally kind and made it such a great experience, especially on our last night!
We always make a point to eat at KO when we visit Maui. It is a family favorite!
Awesome food, awesome service. Celebrated my daughters completion of her RN program and certification.
Love that they brought back the Kamaaina deal!
We had an amazing time at Ko. From the moment with entered the restaurant, everyone treated us so well. Leanne, our server, was especially knowledgeable and looked after my wife and I brilliantly.
Gorgeous location too.
Good food overall. Some dishes can be a bit on the heavy side, for example they cover their tuna tataki with sesame oil, and flavors are somewhat standard flavors that will feel familiar to the american clientele.
Amazing twilight dinner service
