We were seated promptly. The hostess was so very nice. She moved us because it was sooooo busy and loud with holiday celebrations. Since it was my birthday and just the two of us we wanted a more romantic quiet spot and she accommodated us. The hostess stand was swamped with walk ins and take out orders but she had does everything with ease. We loved our table and our server. The food was amazing. I loved the cool bread presentation with the cool dips. My fried lobster was the BEST! My hubby had steak and lobster. He loved it. I had a yummy drink. Water service was great. I can’t say enough about how much we loved Ko. Plus we are kamaaina and we were visiting from Lahaina. We really appreciate the Kamaina discount on food and alcohol. Our server was fun and attentive. We were attending BMI music festival and he made sure we were served before the concert started. Five star service and food. Mahalo!
I was underwhelmed by the food. The ambiance was great, the service was great, but the food was just alright. The fish was over cooked, the veggies were a mixture of shredded shoe string carrots(literally what you find on a salad) and overcooked zucchini. I was expecting a bit more, out of the food due to the reviews.
Wonderful venue, good service and selection of dishes. The sushi appetizer was excellent. Only wish they had more sushi options on the dinner menu.
We always ask for Loius but was unable to get him as our waiter this time. We were very pleased with Lowe and appriciated Roland checking up on us.
We thank Ko for their Kamaina specials so even the locals can appreciate the great food.
The location is very nice, and the food was good, but the menu was limited and not really 'Plantation Inspired' or very Hawaiian. The service was disappointing. It was slow, not what I expected at a Fairmont, and after the entrees we immediately got the bill with a statement "I didn't think you were interested in desert".
We went to Ko for a birthday celebration that happened to be Thanksgiving night. The service was ok - just the basic minimum, not what I'd expect for the price and location, and it wasn't busy when we first arrived.
Most everything on the menu had some kind of sweet sauce, which doesn't appeal to me - but I knew that going in. But I chose the kale salad to start, based on the description, and was disappointed that it was very sweet! It was just an ok salad otherwise, but my partner really enjoyed her half.
My entree was delicious - the spicy lobster udon. It was the right amount of spicy, great variety of flavors and texture, and a generous amount of lobster. There was a tempura kim chee (I think?) in it that was my favorite part of the meal!
The kama'aina discount is great, but wasn't on our check until I asked about it, even though when we arrived the host had confirmed with us that we live on Maui. Overall experience was not great, and probably will not be back for a while.
Drew was one of the best waiters I have ever had. The food is delicious and a must do for dinner.
The food was okay, but not great. All hotel restaurants are expensive, but the marriott (humble kitchen) and four seasons (duo) had better food.
We are staying at the property. To begin our server was excellent and did an amazing job. To food was just ok for the money. Ribeye was marginal in cut and preparation for the money. Fish entree was a dit better but could have been served warmer and with a bit more love. Service was outstanding.
So incredible, we went twice! Yes, you heard me- TWICE in one long weekend in Maui! We originally made a reservation for our first night (celebrating my birthday) far in advance thinking there was no way we could get in on a whim. On the contrary, we were able to book a second time during the weekend for our last meal. The service was OUTSTANDING, both of our lovely servers made us so happy. The front desk gals were beautifully professional and welcoming. And the food.... sorry can’t talk, my mouth is watering. We had a little bit of everything and came back for the Sunday “lau lau” special. Unbelievable. Also, the maitais. Enough said! Can’t wait to come back!
Hannah our server was delightful- the only issue was that the macadamia nut encrusted fish was overcooked and a bit bland. My husband does not like a lot of sauce and even he suggested some sauce would liven it up. The lobster tempura was excellent, (and I shared the dipping sauces with my husband) as was the spring roll appetizer.
Nice semi-outdoor seating. It was busy but not so busy that you couldn’t have a conversation.
Love the food!
Always great food at Ko. Can't go wrong. Excellent and friendly wait staff
Great meal, great service, fabulous atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Lobster udon noodles was excellent.
Always great food, excellent service and great Kama’aina deals.
One of our favorite places to dine out. The food is excellent, presented beautifully, with engaged wait persons eager to describe new dishes.
One of my favorite restaurants on Maui! You want to keep going back to try everything because it's all so delicious. And the service is fantastic.
Nice looking restaurant. Server was initially very engaged, then was gone for long stretches. Ordered calamari. They brought shrimp. The runner said “the calamari is too tough so they gave you shrimp.” We asked the server who said they were out of calamari so they substituted shrimp. Seemed strange without asking us. The rest of the meal was fine—small portions. Big price. Likely wouldn’t return.
Blanca the hostess is amazing! I forgot our waitresses name but she was great as well. The food is exceptional! Some of the best seafood I’ve had
Terrible will NEVER return, flood was inedible!!
Went for the first time during restaurant week and I will definitely go back. The food was excellent as was our server and the rest of the staff. Our server checked on us as each course arrived to make sure everything was to our liking. Food and service is exactly what you would expect at a place like this. We had outside seating which I would definitely recommend. The tiki torches and distance from the hustle and bustle in the main part of the restaurant made for a quiet and intimate dining experience. Note for kamaaina: all starters and entrees are BOGO and drinks are 25% off year round.
We took advantage of the 2 for one Kamaaina special vrs. the Wailea Restaurant Week special. The portions are larger with a wider range of selections compared to the Restaurant week menu. The cost was comparable. We ordered the oishi sushi, mauka harvest salad and honey shrimp for appetizers. Absolutely "broke da mouth" delicious. The monchong catch of the day was perfect. The lamb chops were more medium rare than medium as requested so a bit chewy. The banana bread bar ala mode was a complimentary birthday dessert which was perfect to top off our dinner. Our server, Morgan was terrific!
We had the fixed price meal. Restruant Week . The food was high quality, however the server was not up to level one would hope for at this price.
Great dinner on our 10th anniversary. We were lucky to be visiting during restaurant week - so got exceptional value for our meal. After making the reservations far in advance and notifying them of the celebration, I would have hoped for a nicer table, maybe with more of a view. The bread they serve is really different and it would have been nice to get an explanation. All that aside, the scallops with udon was excellent!
Kō surpassed any of our expectations when a party of 7 of us friends decided to dine there for Wailea Restaurant Week. The service was spectacular, I entrusted my server to order my selections and he did not disappoint. The food was fantastic!! I was there with 6 colleagues of mine just dining as we celebrate our friendships we’ve built and the accomplishments we’ve have as a team and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to have our celebration! Thank you for a great dining experience!
Our server was great and explained the "restaurant week" specials and benefits. The shrimp and sushi appetizers were very flavorful with just the right spices, the sea bass entre hit the perfect balance with the MacNut crust. The shortrib was sweet and succulent at the same time. The cane fire cocktail had quite a nice spice and kick to it. Thanks for a great night!
Wonderful dining experience from our greeter to our waiter, Drew. Delicious restaurant week options - shrimp & sushi appetizers, entreés of fish & scallops, and yummy créme bruleé. Will definitely return to try again!
Went to dine for restaurant week. When we were seated, the greeter told us about the Kama'aina special. Great value for the dinning experience. Will definitely be back and recommend.
Great Wailea Restaurant Week offering! Kamaaina deals are epic here, too!
Food was incredible. Every item we had for our party of four was exquisitely prepared with unique flavorful recipes. Service was attentive and engaging. Definitely will come back
The food was delicious, and our server was great. There were small issues with timing of bread, appetizers, entrees and also water refills.
My wife and i just got married and went to Ko to celebrate. The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. My only challenge was the darkness of the restaurant made it difficult to read the menu.
Fabulous service and great food! Loved the atmosphere as well.
I celebrated my birthday at KO and loved it! Everything was great from the service to food to ambiance. I really enjoyed it!!
Kris K. Provided terrific suggestions and presentation of an outstanding meal. Beautiful dining room, remarkable, food and kind attentive service made for a memorable occasion.
Overall amazing. Sarah our server was PERFECT.
