   There was no food available for our 8pm reservation. They said they were “sold out of everything”. If you are thinking of eating there maybe call ahead to make sure they still have food on a weekend.

   Knoop is one of the best places to go in GR! The food (especially the Korean Fried Chicken Bao) is phenomenal, the ambiance is so relaxed, and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend, especially for a romantic date night!

   Great drinks, great service, great atmosphere. The let down is the choice of furniture. Tiny tables in a shared plate restaurant don’t work. Also seating that is a cushiony seat 12 inches below the table or a chair 4 inches above the table are impractical and uncomfortable.

    There are very limited food options, the drinks are overpriced, and many menu items were unavailable. The ambiance is nice, but the noise level is very loud.

    My family and I had a great time at Knoop. I had some family members come over from East Lansing, and I was looking for a nice welcoming place to sit and talk. Luckily I was recommended by a friend here and I had made a reservation that same day and we went for some drinks. I wish we had tried some of the food, but will do that next time for sure! We had a good experience, the staff were very helpful and friendly. It wasn’t too loud which was great and it wasn’t too crowded either.

    We had reservations and had even gotten a confirmation text but the restaurant was closed because of the storm. I was the one to call to double check. No one from the restaurant called to inform me that they were closed. There were several other restaurants downtown that were open. It would have been nice if someone had called. Poor customer service.

    Always the best service at Knoop! The staff was wonderful to everyone in our group and helped us celebrate my mom's birthday. The bartenders make deliciously crafted cocktails that are always picture-perfect. Highly recommend!

    Place was pretty dead when we arrived, made a reservation because I had a few good experiences here when it first opened. This time was significantly different. We tried quite a few food selections: wagyu sliders, poutine, truffle terrines, bao buns, and a pretzel. They were all very bland or flavor combos that just didn’t work, it was so bad and disappointing. Drinks were okay, mine was extremely bitter but I was able to get it down. Service was decent. Atmosphere was ok, at one point the music switched to hip hop and was really loud which was fine but pretty abrupt and not the vibe. Overall - I don’t recommend this place for food, maybe for drinks during the day when you can see the nice view. This place has really gone down hill, but again we are still in a pandemic and it has affected many restaurants so I understand. I will say this place was once very good and the food was great, not so much anymore. I hope they can turn it around!

    It was so loud at Knoop, we couldn't hear each other across a small table. Chairs were super uncomfortable. It was not a very pleasant experience. Server was nice and helpful.

    What we were most impressed with at Knoop was the price. We had three drinks and two plates and the bill was $48. For downtown GR, that's pretty inexpensive. We were there on a snowy, blistery night and there were not very many other people there. The vibe was pretty quiet. The food was decent and the drinks were good. It was a quick stop before we went to a concert at Midtown. I would do it again. And, I imagine in warmer months it's a whole different vibe since it is a rooftop bar.

    Great drinks and decent shareable plates. I appreciated the amount of attention the server and bartender took to make sure we were enjoying our experience. I’ll definitely come back in the summer when I can sit outside and enjoy the rooftop deck more.

    Food was very good. Ordered the chef’s board, the pretzel flight, the poutine, and the waygu sliders. Chef’s Board had a wide variety of items and was very fresh. The pretzel flight was delicious - the honey chipotle pretzel was very sticky! And I would be happy to bathe in the beer cheese! The poutine was good - it had a crema added to the traditional fries, cheese curds, and gravy, which added some good flavor. The Waygu sliders were delicious - very juicy and all the toppings were on point. The venue itself was quite noisy, which I would expect from the high open ceilings. It did quiet down from time to time, but as it got busier, it got louder - great for a fun night out, not the best for deep conversation. The service was excellent. Our server had great recommendations for everything from drinks to food. The drinks were magical. We had a few classics - a manhattan and a gin martini. Both were made very well. Tried the Pineapple Cobbler with a shot of Tito’s, which was very refreshing, and the Wild Berry Punch, liquor-free. Both were very delicious. It is pretty expensive for a meal or drinks, so definitely not an every day visit type deal, but great for a special night.

    Great views and food. Good overall beer list but disappointing beer list for a place that claims a beer garden. Basically 1 IPA, 1 wheat, etc. Small food menu but it was varied and all excellent tasting. Great overall ambiance but a touch loud for conversation. Amazing views and will definitely return

    Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Absolutely gorgeous ambience inside and out. The food is absolutely phenomenal. Some of the best we have ever eaten. The drinks were also amazing. Love the cookies and cream dessert. We cannot wait to come back next time we are in Grand Rapids! Also had a very friendly server.

    Knoop basically ruined my 30th birthday - service was so slow and people from my party wanted to leave after 2 hours and some of us wanted to go to another venue. I wanted to get dessert but I figured it would take forever so I didn't. There were times when it wasn't all that busy and we still got barely any service. The waitress told us that she could not split the bill among 10 people (AKA she was too lazy to split it) - which put me in an awkward position because I didn't want to foot the $350 bill on my own but I also didn't want to split the bill evenly among everyone because it wouldn't be fair. If we were told that at the beginning we would have ordered differently. It took the waitress an hour to come back with our bill and by then the vibe was bad, people were annoyed, and we spent so much time there that no one wanted to go to the next venue and my birthday night ended early on a bad note. We spent a good amount of time figuring out the bill situation instead of enjoying ourselves. At the beginning one of my friends warned me that they have bad service and I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt but now I understand. I also asked the waitress if she could take a picture of the table and she said "yes" and then walked away and never offered to take the photo. So we didn't get one. I also had a poor experience making the reservation - I was emailing with the events coordinator and she told me she would get make to me by "end of day" and didn't respond for a month (after I sent her 3 follow up emails). All to just make a reservation of 10 people (because their max is usually 6). The waitress also took peoples plates without asking and never offered a box. The service was horrible.
