Knight's Original Steakhouse - Dexter Ave
As a traditional steakhouse, our steaks, prime rib, chicken, burgers and seafood are a main focus of our menu. However, we are equally proud of our other menu choices, including an assortment of salads, sandwiches, and pastas.
Each day we strive to improve our customers’ experience by raising standards on our service and menu items. Knight’s is renowned for serving a mixed drink you would proudly serve to guests at your home and at an exceptional price. We also offer a wide selection of draft and bottled beers and an extensive wine list.
Since 1952, the Knight family’s philosophy has been to provide customers with good value, exceptional service, and excellent food and drinks.
Great night, Rachel is great.
You can't say you live in Ann Arbor until you eat at Knight's. Great food, even better service. Seafood specials are inventive and delicious. Best kids' menu around. Great steaks, great burgers and perfect consistency.
Knights has been an Ann Arbor institution for decades. Their drinks are what makes them unique (generous pour). The menu is varied with excellent meats. Fish choices are very good.
For a birthday celebration, it was wonderful! Great food, drinks and service. The free dessert great!
Wonderful as always. Our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant.
Wonderful meal at Knights. The PEI mussels with their rolls for dunking can’t be beaten as an appetizer.
All of their steaks are great. A real favorite is the “London Broil” ( really flank steak). The way it is marinated really gives the flank steak a wonderful flavor.
At Lunch the burgers are a cant go wrong item.
Drink was awesome! Be careful though one was all I could handle
This visit, unlike all the many many others I've had, presented my steak quality as a lower level. Not tender and a bit gristley (not sure how to spell that).
Always great food and service. We have never been disappointed.
Food was very good, but limited options for non steak people. Quite pricey. I would have liked more one chicken choice. Wine list is average. A bit too directed at old rich customers. Not my first choice in Ann Arbor.
It is a very busy place and during dinner hours reservations are a must. We were there on Saturday at 6:30 pm and those without reservations had over an hour wait. The down side is that the place is crowded and extremely noisy. If you can dine upstairs. The noise level there is much less than the main floor. The food is very good and beef is the specialty.
I really like being able to make reservations online and we were seated immediately in a booth.
Brye is an unbelievable waiter. This place gets better with age. The best townie place to eat in the city.
We were there for dinner last Friday night. My steak was drastically over cooked and was not visually appealing. I looked like it never saw a cast iron skillet or an open flame. My wife's dinner came out cold. Best part of the night was the beer list and the chili was very good. Very disappointed after all we have heard. Won't be back unfortunately.
Excellent prime rib. First time I have tried it, although we go to Knight's often. We had a very quiet table on the first floor, on the side near outdoor seating.
Tables packed too closely together.
Not well equipped for handicapped.
VERY, VERY, VERY noisy.
A few strikes against Knights on this visit- we made a reservation through Open Table and were told we’d still have to wait 20 minutes. Then, we were seated in the upstairs- I would take the upstairs on a Friday night if I dropped in last minute. But, people who take the time to make a reservation shouldn’t be relegated to the awful upstairs.
At dinner, they were out of items. We had our heart set on something and it was out. Shame on them.
Upstairs, the drinks are made by the server. I ordered the top shelf margarita and the server was going to use Cuervo. That’s not top shelf. Downstairs, the bar knows what a top shelf margarita is.
The au jus with my French dip was ice cold. My French dip was rare not medium well.
All the way around, Knights didn’t meet our expectations.
And the shame of it is, they don’t care!
As long as the drinks are strong, they have a committed audience and they don’t have to strive for quality.
Was awesome for a first date, the Christmas decor was also a topic of discussion (good). The server was very good, he paid just enough attention but also allowed us to enjoy each other. The only knocks we had was the amount of onions on the nachos appetizer was overpowering in our opinion and the Ruben lacked enough sauce, but those are very minor and detracted very little from our meal which was amazing. Definitely be back! My date really wanted your stained glass at the entry she loved it.
Knights has great hamburgers and the best drinks in town!
Knight's is always fun, but on this night the noise level was just too much. We were in a smaller room and one table of revelers was absolutely yelling at one another. We will come again; have never had this experience before.
ALWAYS fabulous!!!! Service, drinks, food choice and quality never disappoint.
I love this restaurant, but this time it was not up to what I have come to expect. I had the French Dip and the bun was stale and falling apart and the roast beef was cold. This is the first time this has happened, so I am hoping it was just a bad day. Also, it was really chilly in the main dining area.
Our steaks were excellent and properly cooked to order. The server was very friendly and attentive. Our only complaint would be with the sides... vegetable and baked potato were poorly presented on the plate and the vegetables were very very sparse.
Our Favorite Restaurant! We come for special occasions. We stop by for a casual lunch. Knights never disappoints.
Nice spot. Great Manhattan !!
Outstanding meal with great service
Knight’s is always busy, it seems. Tonight was no exception. Our waiter, Michael, was informative and attentive. We ordered a filet mignon and spaghetti and meatballs. The steak was medium rare and very flavorful and tender. The side of broccoli was completely unseasoned.
The spaghetti sauce has good tomato flavor, and my husband enjoyed the meatballs.
Because it’s my birthday, we had dessert. I ordered the chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream, which was a big gooey tower, but good. My husband ordered the key lime pie, which has a nice tart sweet flavor and was a generous portion.
Knight's cut prime rib was amazing. It was pretty packed that night , so I was hoping for a bigger table for my party of five, but we managed. Excellent waiter and the food was delicious.
Our dinners were great!
Known for the Prime rib and steaks they also feature daily specials that usually include seafood. It's always of the highest quality and creatively prepared.
We were seated at a table directly in front of the restrooms. Being a busy night, there was a constant flow of traffic in and out of the restrooms. This resulted in an unpleasant sanitizing odor that interrupted our meal. I had to hold my breath in order to enjoy my dinner and that was extremely disappointing. My husband had a direct view of patrons entering and exiting the restroom, with the odor, while eating his dinner.
Excellent liver and onions, and salmon entrees. Very good side vegetable selection and cooked well.
Food was excellent as usual as was the service. This is one of our favorite place to eat in Ann Arbor
I love Knights. It’s the ANN Arbor cheers to me. Great good, great people always consistent .
As per usual, Knight's Original Steakhouse on Dexter is the place to go for an excellent dinner in a laid back atmosphere. We went here for a special meal, knowing that we wouldn't be disappointed. The food is top quality - especially the steaks, which were tender (like butter) and cooked to perfection. The salads and sides were a perfect complement to a great entrée. We will visit Knight's again soon . . . maybe on a Tuesday to sample the turkey and trimmings special! Service was great, as were the drinks. Parking is available on-site. Note to the wise: This place fills up fast. Use OpenTable to facilitate a reservation.
The food and service was top notch. The space is limited and waiting for a seat even with a reservation is a turn off.
We always enjoy a meal at Knight's on Dexter Ave. Great menu. Good Michigan craft beers on tap.
Easily, the best place in AA for the last 35 years...no worries, the locals will welcome you...
We really enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at Knight’s. We were seated at a very nice booth that gave us some privacy. Our Hostess and waitress were very nice. The waitress was very attentive and any time we were finished with a plate it was whisked away. Excellent service!!!
There is no better meat in town! Well of course except for knights market!!
