Ate a their downtown location last year, meal was excellent. Was closer to this location this time, since we enjoyed meal last time thought we try again. Arrived and seated with our reservation on time. Placed order in timely manner but was informed 15 minutes later after soup and salads arrived one meal ordered was not available, on normal menu not specials. Had to choose something else. Chose the sirloin, when everything arrived nothing was very warm, didn't complain but probably should have. Most likely would not go to this location again. Server was excellent did everything possible in his situation.
We always have a great meal at Knight's. We went for our 40th birthdays on friday and our waiter was amazing, the meal was amazing... LOVE IT
Knight’s is an Ann Arbor staple, providing consistently reliable food quality, personable service & dollar value. When considering dining options in Ann Arbor, it’s difficult to resist a Knights dining option. Our visit delivered the same satisfaction as always - the steak & fish was perfectly done, and the drinks were robust.
Excellent food and service!
This is a down home place offering many kinds of good food. The prices were higher than we expected, but the menu and cuisine did not disappoint. We would have liked some small plate options, or smaller versions of some of the main menu items. The amounts served seemed oversized.
Service was basic and timely. The biggest drawback was the noise. It was Valentine's Day and it was very difficult to hear. We will probably try again on a quieter evening.
Love this place. Great cocktails and food. Love!
Celebrated my 51st birthday with family here. Food, drink, and service were fantastic but the decor was very outdated. Also, didn't mind, but this place was frequented by an older crowd. Much older than my 51 years, LOL.
first off there were numerous floaters in the neat bourbon pour. the server obviously had other things on her mind than attending to a 'old guy' customer. it took just under 10 minutes for her to circle back around to correct and at that point I am thinking, "great, one of those evening's, eh?" things picked up when my co-diner arrived and dinner of steak for him and salmon for me was well prepared and a pleasing recovery to the eh beginning. we did enjoy a good meal and where treated well for the remainder of our stay. I like this place and will return, but it is clear from the ongoing interaction that if you are not a 'regular' diner, the service will be only so-so.
Steaks all done to perfection. Waitstaff less than usual. Had to ask for silverware, side plates, even bread.
Friday night dinner with my husband. Great value, service and drinks. This is our go to restaurant.
Nice choice of entrees though online specials differed from specials offered when we arrived. Food could have been hotter.fish served with lump of butter that didnt melt . Waitstaff was fabulous.
Our food was excellent. Waitress was very friendly but never ask if we wanted an appetizer or anything else to drink. We had to ask for more water. But overall we had a very nice time.
This has been our favorite restaurant for over 20 years. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and many of the customers practically feel like part of the Knight family. Don Knight, Jr is the penultimate host. The food is delicious, the specials often very creative, the beef is perfection.
One tip - all drinks ordered as singles are usually doubles in reality. It's a Knights tradition and if you are aware of their "long pour" you'll be fine.
We love this restaurant. Great food and excellent service. Our new go to place in Ann Arbor.
Family favorite for Birthday celebration. Our dinner was delicious and the appetizers were amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant for the delight of all your guests. Our server was outstanding and very attentive. Tuesday dinner and the place was very busy.
This is the place for steak. I've never had a bad one here. Service and atmosphere can be a bit hectic, and the service can seem a little rushed. But that can be expected at such a popular spot.
Great meal and friendly service.
Knight's is a great place for tasty food with fresh meat from Knight's market. Their desserts are terrific, too. We especially like the cozy feel of this location, with lots pictures of the local area (Go Blue!) and separation between the different dining areas to help keep the noise down.
Though it was a Monday night, I didn't expect to have such a rowdy crowd at the bar. We went for a date night and was hoping for a steakhouse atmosphere, especially considering the meal cost, but instead had people yelling and cursing at the basketball game, so much so that the bartender had to quiet them down. The service and drinks were great, but the food was mediocre at best. This is the 3rd or 4th time we've been there but will be thinking twice next time.
This was our first time at Knight’s. Everything was excellent! Looking forward to going back!!
Knight's is great for handmade classics. I especially enjoy the walleye special. Nothing fancy, just fresh fish cooked with a light touch. Some of their soups are outstanding. This night was the cabbage/sausage soup. Soup or salad is included with the entree.
Our second time here and we’ll be back again. Great dinner and drinks but the dessert was probably my favorite! The cream puff and that chocolate sauce are worth the drive alone!
Other than having to wait an extra 30mins after the reservation time, it was a pretty good place. Great for watching sports and catching up with friends. The menu is different than their downtown location. And don’t mention or ask the waiter about it- they seem to not be too fond of the comparison.
We waited an unusually long time for our table, despite our reservation, but it was extremely busy and people didn't want to leave their tables, since it was about 3 degrees outside. Once we were seated, our waiter was outstanding. The food was above average, no fancy presentations, but very good, and not overpriced. We took a table upstairs, and it was nice and quiet (not so downstairs that night). Our orders arrived without long delays, pretty amazing considering how busy they were. It was overall a very satisfying experience. They are quite expert at making delicious potatoes. I don't usually eat potatoes, but the twice-baked was too good, and my husband's fries were amazing. And you don't need more than one cocktail!
Outstanding, as always. This place is an Ann Arbor institution.
A comfortable informal setting. Great cocktails! The sweet potato clam chowder was excellent. As usual steak and prime rib were perfectly cooked to order.
Great place to eat and see people you know. Ambiance personified!
Knight's knows how to cook meat dishes and you will not go wrong with their prime rib dishes. Prices for food and wine are quite reasonable and they let folks split dishes at no extra charge. (That is especially nice for geezers like us.) The wine list is modest but well chosen and again quite reasonably priced. It is big and always packed but one can chat without shouting-a big plus IMHO. We will definitely return soon.
Our group of four Very Seasoned Diners where cheerfully seated by pleasant hosting staff and attended immediately by server Kelsey. The generous drinks, oysters, prime rib, salmon and spaghetti (there's one deviant in every group) made for a delightful dining experience. Our youthful server was not intimidated by 4 crusty old guys and did her job with aplomb. We will be back for more, thank you.
Great food, great service!
