Knight's Original Steakhouse - Dexter Ave
As a traditional steakhouse, our steaks, prime rib, chicken, burgers and seafood are a main focus of our menu. However, we are equally proud of our other menu choices, including an assortment of salads, sandwiches, and pastas.
Each day we strive to improve our customers’ experience by raising standards on our service and menu items. Knight’s is renowned for serving a mixed drink you would proudly serve to guests at your home and at an exceptional price. We also offer a wide selection of draft and bottled beers and an extensive wine list.
Since 1952, the Knight family’s philosophy has been to provide customers with good value, exceptional service, and excellent food and drinks.
Went there for my son's 30th Birthday. He likes this restaurant, so we went. I had the Prime Rib which was very good. I have no complaints on the food, etc. It is a bit loud in the restaurant and sometimes very crowded, but I guess that means the restaurant is good. We will probably be back. Thanks. Also, I think a tad pricey for the atmosphere and not an upscale steakhouse.
We arrived 10 minutes before our confirmed reservation time and still had to wait almost 30 minutes.
Steak was seasoned and prepared properly and the service was great.
Steak (NY Strip) was delicious. Service was excellent! Look forward to visiting again
Michael was an outstanding waiter! It makes such a difference when the service is good!
This was a very nice place to eat. I brought my husband here to have his birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Amazing service, great food and easy to find. One thing I would suggest is make reservations!! You will not regret it!
Knight's has been our favorite Steakhouse for many years.
Always a good meal with good service. Unfortunately some of the clientele is of lower social standards and less than well behaved as we were sat one booth away from people using profane language with our children at the table.
Excellent food and very good service. Good for families
We love Knight's for all the right reasons and will continue to go back.
Amazing as always.
Everything was great! The service, the food, and as always the drinks tasted amazing!
I always thought their steak should be good since they own their butcher shop. but our medium rare 24 oz porterhouse was very dry, and tasteless. Love the old decor, it give the restaurant the feel of the yesteryears. Our waitress was attentive and gave us a lot of space. The price was low to fair for that meat, but I thought the quality would of been better.
Know hints, just a great place to eat. We especially love the Mussels.
Even we had a reservation, we had to wait another 20 min. Then the steak we got was not as ordered. Instead of medium rare, we got well done. The cook had an excuse instead of changing it... The poor waiter was in between the cook and the guests pressure. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it and accepted the steak as it was. But for sure, we will not go there anymore and will not recommend it anymore, even we had another experience there in the past.
Knight's is always a great experience which is why we continue to go back!
The three of us were thumbs up about the 12 oz prime rib. First time my brother-in-law had been there, he is a big eater and really enjoyed it. The asparagus was done perfectly. The Malbec was also very good and a great value. Expect my brother-in-law will take my sister in the not too distant future.
My favorite place in all of Ann Arbor!!! The service, the meals, the ambience ...
Best drinks in the city! We love Knights! The burgers are delicious. The garden salad with blackened salmon is always a winner.
Great food and service. The physical plant, however, could use some improvement eg the table edges are all heavily scratched and the wood paneling is in need of an update.
Dinner was wonderful as usual, but both desserts we ordered were out. It was only 8 PM on Friday, seems like they should have been prepared.
Consistently good and always a value. The service is generally good and this time it was great. They do things the right way.
Food and service were good. The decor is a bit dated, but if you're looking for a good meal I'd recommend stopping by. I'll definitely be back.
The food and service were excellent. Drinks are strong so if you don't like them that way the bar can adjust. Prices are a bit steep but quality is high.
Drinks large and cheap. Food excellent. Fried chicken night for my wife and I had a custom burger with mushrooms, cheese and onion crisps. Yummy! Fries were the best I’ve had in a long time.
Drinks were good. Prime Rib was cold (both orders). All other food and appetizers were 5 star. Service was pretty good. This was not a perfect visit like I have had in the past, but it was still a worthwhile trip.
Great food and fun with friends, service was fantastic and food some of the best in A2. It is just a loud place that is packed due to great food and service.
Thanks for a great evening.
Took my girls here before the Daddy Daughter Dance. Glad i made a reservation, as the place with packed with maize & blue after a UofM game. We were seated quickly and in a nice quiet spot upstairs.
My 2 dates thought the place was very fancy! Wait staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable.
Food came out in reasonable time. My beer took a little longer, but not too long.
Everything tasted good and came out as ordered. We'll go back again for sure.
Food was very tasty. Our waitress Sarah was very friendly and professional.
I have had dinner at all 3 Knights locations and the food is always very good. There's always something for everyone in my group. Our filets were cooked to perfection.
Had prime rib and it was excellent. My husband had delmonico steak and it was also great.
DELmonico steak was full of grisel. you couldnt even eat it.
absolutely! this restaurant is an Ann Arbor institution with the best beef in town, in my opinion
Knights was very accommodating when I asked in my reservation if I could have a cushioned seat made available for my 85 yr old aunt, which they did without question. It was great and so appreciated. The only reason you didn't get 5 stars was that the noise level was a bit high making it difficult to have a nice conversation. - even if my guest wasn't 85! Thanks for a great night!
Excellent food and friendly staff, especially on such a busy holiday! We reserved a table over a week ahead of time and our orders were taken and food was recieved in a very timely manner. The only downfall to the evening was that we got the worst table possible. It was small for two people but right across from two large party tables-and right next to the kitchen where their was a lot of noise, and close foot traffic moving food and drinks. There were plenty of other small two person tables in better locations-that people who walked-in got. If I were walking in and had to wait to be seated and this was the table I would have gotten, that would have made sense. But for a reservation that was made weeks prior, and for such a late time in the evening, it would have been nice to have a better seating option open. But again it was a busy holiday and going to Knight's at any of their locations is always a nice time with delightful food. Thank you!
I booked a reservation for my wife and myself on Valentine’s Day and booking was smooth and easy. We arrived about 10 minutes late for our reservation (called ahead to let them know and they said it was no problem) and we waited less than 5 minutes for our table. It was busy but we never felt neglected or crowded. I ordered the Delmonico (medium) and my wife ordered the Sirloin (also cooked medium). We had catfish bites and shrimp appetizer that were great. My wife’s steak came as she ordered but mine came medium rare and the waitress agreed it looked too fleshy for medium. They put it back on the grill no problem and it came back right. I had double portion of mixed veggies (asparagus, squash, and carrots) and my wife had veggies and sweet potato fries (outstanding). No specialty lemonades (wife loves those) but good dinner overall. Two seafood appetizers and two steak dinners (no drinks) for $85 before tip. We plan to go back. Forgot to take pictures.
I have been going to Knights since they opened the doors and never have been disappointed. On Valentine's Day we had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of our time. Restaurant was crowed but service and food was excellent for such a busy night.
Excellent as always. Blackened pork chops were cooked oerfectly. Great rolls. Great service. Sat on the balcony which is a fun place to sit.
Although the food was good, I will probably choose the newer Knight’s Steakhouse in downtown Ann Arbor next time. The decor at the original Knight’s is really dated and has a distinct smell of cigarettes.
