The appetizer and entree were great, but the same can’t be said for the baklava - the walnuts in it were terrible!
We went here for my dads birthday after traveling to Greece as a family this summer. We absolutely loved everything! The staff were AMAZING and so kind! The food was authentic Greek cousine and everything we ordered was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back!
Nice Greek place in the heart of downtown. Food was great but the alcoholic drink menu deserves an overhaul. Stick with wine or beer. Their olive oil dip and bread is amazing! Lamb is fall off the bone good!
Good wine good food service was much better than previous visits
Loved this place. Food was authentic and the owner was so nice
I ordered the wrong thing. The branzino fish was filleted but still has MANY bones so I could not eat it.
Salad and saganaki were very good. Service was very nice and attentive. I will go again and try something different.
I was excited to eat at Kleo's because it offers a diff.erent menu from the Italian-leaning Providence options. However, I found the experience to be a let down. 1st - ambiance - indoors: Greek comfort, but be warned, window seats come with a view of a dog park where people bring their dogs to do their "business" while you are dining (not appetizing). 2nd-food: the best thing was the dip tasting appetizer, 6 very different dips, each one very tasty, which comes with warm, yummy pita slices - but only enough to eat half the dips served (and we maximized the dip/pita ratio). The greek salad was fresh, but lacked any seasoning (even my BF, with his non discriminating palate, commented that he wish there was some salt on the table to add to the dish). We both had the lamb chop special, they were good. They were served with lemon potatoes (VERY lemony), cooked dandelion greens with tomatoes (watery, not drained well and IMO ruined the other items on the plate by making them soggy) and a sundried tomato/greek yogurt ball (which tasted like neither). Lastly, the service - our waiter was pleasant, but struggled to answer the few questions we had about some of the menu items..stating he had been away for a week and items had changed and he didn't know what they were. We finally got the menu items identified, but I think the servers should know what they are serving. If I were to go back, it would be to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink with the dips and ask for extra pita in advance!
The food was very good, unusual wine list, but the restaurant was full and it was too noisy to have a regular conversation.
Went there with my friend before going to a show at PPAC. Very close to PPAC, we were able to walk right there. Delicious, fresh food, GORGEOUS and spacious interior, very friendly and helpful service. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
As a Greek American, I am happy to say that the food was very authentic. The bronzino was the best thing on the table. Cold dip platter also very good. Only complaint is that most of the food was too salty ex, Pastichio, Moussaka. If the chef could cut back on the salt, it would have been perfect. Great drinks. Good prices.
Food, service, and decor were fantastic! Our group of 6 all loved it and already looking forward to going back!
The food was outstanding (especially the lamb shank). The ambiance was lively if a bit cozy. Our only major issue was with the service, which was inattentive, acted harried, and was overall ambivalent to the point of acting uncaring toward his tables. Worse, he openly complained that the host was "too new and didn't know what he was doing" by inadvertently assigning other servers to his section. It wasn't just us - the table next to us requested the check and that their entrees be wrapped up as soon as they arrived. They were sick of being ignored. The couple in the next table were obviously frustrated by the situation as well.
Be careful Kleos - you have a good thing here. Don't ruin it with subpar staffing.
I would go back to try more off the menu. Tzakiki was great. Branzino was traditionally prepared and simply flavored.
The food was fantastic. So was the service.
Kleos food is phenomenal! I’ve been twice and have loved everything. The salmon is delicious and lamb shank one of a kind. All the apps are so good... try the meze plate or dips. All are so good!
Always exceptional service, amazing food, and great cocktails.
Good food. Close to PPAC. Nicely decorated for Christmas.
We went to Kleos before a show at PPAC. Classic Greek food and also some with a twist! The atmosphere was cozy with a great mix of nightlife. Food was absolutely delicious and quick, helpful service. We left full and happy!
My wife and I had dinner at Kleos before a show at PPAC. Dinner before a show can be a bit problematic at an untried restaurant as one doesn't know what to expect in terms of plating the food. We shouldn't have been concerned. We ate at the bar, let the bartender know our schedule and everything worked perfectly. We loved it! My wife had the gyro and I had lemon, sage lamb chops over dandelion greens. Cooked perfectly and wonderful.
The ambience is casual Greek taverna with an urban twist. Very pleasant.
First time at Kleo's before a show at PPAC and we were given a window seat (great for people-watching). It's pretty and fresh inside. Menu is not expansive but contains a nice variety of Greek dishes (some with American comparisons such as the Greek lasagna). Food was excellent. Staff friendly and attentive.
Great find. Best lamb chops ever!!!
Service was great. Food was delicious. All in all a great experience. Would definitely dine there again!
My first time at Kleo's. What a great surprise. The menu was extensive with lots of great choices. We shared the hot mezze platter, which was excellent
Delicious food! Best Greek restaurant in Rhode Island! Will definitely be one of go to spots
My favorite new(er) place in Providence! Best food, gorgeous inside, nicest people!
Lively dinner scene especially on the weekend. The food is reliable, authentic greek but it has lost some of its creativity and freshness over the last couple of years.
Never disappointed in Kleos. It is my go to and very convenient if you live in the neighborhood. I look forward to sitting at the bar some snowy evening with a nice glass of wine and a bowl of Avgolemono soup enjoying conversation with the bartender and wait staff.
Fantastic night. Great company. Great friends great night
Great experience, great ambiance!
We loved it and can’t wait to go back and try more things.
Excellent, attractive Greek restaurant with wonderful food and ambiance. The appetizers are terrific as are the main courses. We also chose the red wine from Crete - light and flavorful. I learned of this restaurant from a Boston Globe article and will be returning soon.
calamari excellent, pastitio tasteless. fried zucchini in "tower" bland. Nice space, but I don't think I would go back.
Great place for food and drinks! Well thought cocktails and the salmon with the avocado sauce is the best I’ve had in Providence!
Nice place to go before a show.. I think it’s a little pricey.. apps which have pita bread or veggies need extra to actually eat the entire app.
Great service. The food was too salty for our taste.
Great pre-PPAC meal. Our server was so nice and the food was fresh and delicious. Looks like they're having a bit of an issue on getting the food out, but I am sure those issues will work out as they're pretty new. We will definitely be back!
Enjoyed our visit to Kleos very much. Great food, wine and service. Would suggest waiting for valet service because we parked in a very close lot that charged us $20 because there were events going on in Providence. As for Providence... the short walk to Dorrance Street (looked at the shops that were totally overpriced) we encountered 4 scary homeless people. So again... great reastaurant, not a fan of Providence, would definitely go back - just never alone.
Kleos is such a gem! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is fun and alive. Everything I have had is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection!
So delicious! Can’t wait to go back. Only thing was it took a really long time for our food. Which wouldn’t of been a big deal but we had theater tickets.
