About
Kitchenette is a French restaurant, which uniquely combines slick and modern with classic and comfortable. From our food to the setting to the music we play; we are committed to having fun.
We offer upscale and updated traditional dishes. Every ingredient is fresh from the market and treated with respect and care. Every presentation is clean and relevant.
Our decor denotes our cuisine with contemporary furnishings resting in antiquity; century-old wooden floors, leather banquette, Italian bent-wood chairs, crispy white napkins on solid maple tables, unique artisanal lighting and antique barstools all surrounded a shiny new open kitchen.

Definitely wouldn’t go back, the worst ingredients to ever be used, everything smelled fermented for 15 years
It was a quiet Friday night but we were there I think after the rush. Doors were open with no air-conditioning so it was a little bit warm but it was nice to get fresh air in the summers day. We had the tasting menu which was more than enough food. Interesting choices for sure. On my return I think I would like to try something from the main menu. A great little French experience.
Among the best 5 coarse tasting menus in the city !!
Polite professional service, VERY good food and GREAT value !!!
As usual, food and service were up to the high standards we expect from this restaurant. The only negatives were the parking difficulties which nearly caused us to go elsewhere, and the lack of air conditioning which initially made the room uncomfortable on a very hot night. But the parking is a serious problem that must be resolved, especially on the weekend
This was my second visit to Kitchenette and once again they exceeded my expectations. The food is just simply amazing. I love Kitchenette!
One of the finest meals we have ever had. The owners Matthew and Jeremy were fantastic. The food was out of this world. It is a must if you are in Montréal.
Our server Mathieu was excellent! He was very informative and catered well to our needs. The food was creative and delicious. Strongly recommended for a nice lunch or dinner.
I’m vacationing in Montreal and this was my second visit to this lovely spot.
I was greeted in a friendly manner
I am happy that I found Kitchenette when I was searching for a restaurant in Montréal's Gay Village. Mathieu, who owns the restaurant with his husband, was extremely warm and gracious. I was surprised to be greeted by name when we arrived! My friend and I enjoyed everything that we ate and drank here, and the dinner here is one of the most pleasant memories of our visit to Montréal.
Was looking for a resto close to the Olympia and this little gem was suggested. Great food & service; will definitely be going back!
Belle surprise...c’était excellent et nous avons eu droit un service impeccable. J’y retourne assurément
Omg...this was an unbelievible find. A small cozy restaurant as what the name is: a Kitchen. The food is amazing. I had the Octopus Paella. The favors were unbelievable. Without a doubt one of the best meals I have had in my life. This is a true French restaurant. The presentation is beautiful to the eye then the explosion of flavor on your tongue comes next. Matthieu our waiter was EXCELLENT. Very attentive and easy on the eyes. I wish this place great success!
Following a splendid group dinner earlier in the week (International Wine &Food Society), I decided to bring my wife to taste some of the dishes I had with the group. She was very impressed with the foie gras and the unusual mushroom soup with an egg in it. My meal was OK but not memorable. The service from Mathieu could not have been better, the noise level was perfect and we were very pleased with our wines. Parking in the area requires much patience, but it’s worth the time and effort. We intend to return during the fireworks competition as Kitchenette is well situated for viewing.
Very good tasting menu, service and value...
Un beau moment pour souligner un anniversire
We decided to try this place as a last minute option as it's nearby. We were shocked at how delicious and perfectly portioned everything was. This is a state-of -the -art dining experience and the fact that it's small with the chef cooking right behind the bar makes it feel like a cozy dinner at a friend's home. Would recommend to anyone for a date and will definitely go back again. One of my new favorite places in MTL.
First time in Montreal and this place is unforgettable. Will be returning.
Assurez de proposer deux choix dans le menu à 45$ entre autre pour le dessert
Very friendly and professional staff.
We had the tasting menu, 5 coarse's at $45.00 it was GREAT !!
Herb crusted deep fried soft yolk egg, poached salmon with ginger mousse over seaweed salad, grilled octopus with saffron risotto & chorizo sausage, glazed pheasant with a grain & potato dauphin style and to end with a sublime chocolate soufflé cake.
Every thing was delicious !!!!
This French restaurant is definitely worth trying! We had their 5-service degustation meal with 2 entrées (the egg "mollet" is outstanding), 2 main courses and 1 fabulous chocolate/praline lava cake!
The service is great, very nice waiter and the timing is perfect: you don't wait too long between each plate.
Go, go, go!
I will be back for sure the food was incredible. !!!!! Incredible I still remember it !!! 😋
Nice and cozy place, very nice menu and interesting plates. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Portions are not big.
Kitchenette used to be an ok-foodie destination but new management has changed the nature of the restaurant...while keeping the old name. I thought i was going to the "old" place, and i did not realize I had booked at a stale/over-priced french cuisine restaurant. It unfortunately cost us a nice evening. Prices are high, food was well below-average, and ambiance horrible. Cannot imagine they survive much longer, place was "dead' on a Friday night, and I was the sucker.
Every morsel was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Four of us dined and each of us "ooh-ed" and "aah-ed" with every bite. The smoked trout appetizer was a hit. The scallops entrée was yums. Staff were attentive. Portions were perfectly sized. The wine list is fairly priced and the cocktails were ample and different. The restaurant has a very cool vibe. We'll be back!
Fantastic food, and once we moved past some confusion with the menu the entire meal went over very well. Very cute restaurant.
The service was great, and very polite. The dishes were great too. Recommended if you want to taste good food.
We liked the lamb. It was excellent. The beef was good. Superb service and wine selection was fantastic.
Salmon was amazing - everything on the menu is a delight!
This place was built for cool weather. Unfortunately I was there when I was hot. The kitchen keeps the whole place warm, and that's a detriment when it's already hot out.
Accueil chaleureux, service excellent et nourriture délicieuse. Merci!
Our B&B had recommended Kitchenette - we were celebrating, so we both opted for the tasting menu with wine pairing. Really delicious and creative menu - it was such an enjoyable evening! Big thanks to the team at Kitchenette.
They triesd very hard! We had a lovely, not exceptional, dinner here while visiting from out of town. Some of the food was very, very good (gazpacho, chocolate desert, wine), and some was mediocre at best (beef filet). The atmosphere and personal attention from staff was lovely but it took a very long time to get the check and pay and leave (they were not busy). I would go back and recommend knowing it may be hit or miss taste-wise.
Superb service and fantastic food. Highly recommend.
Une déception sur toute la ligne. Nourriture très ordinaire pour le prix, fade.
Loved the menu, delicious take on classic French with a homey side. Bread was fabulous, loved the open kitchen feel and the neighborhood ambience - family friendly. Wish to have had more customers there when we went, as it felt a tad lonely. Overall nice and would return.
We were celebrating friendship and a birthday of a friend.
