   Food is great - All of the " & grits" options are amazing (catfish, salmon and shrimp). Five stars here. I'll warn you that the menu items are costly. We had three people (no appetizers or alcohol) and the bill was $170. That's a lot to me for three people. The service had something to be desired. It was lunchtime so the restaurant wasn't as busy as it is most evenings, but there were about seven or eight tables with patrons. There was only one waitress covering all of the tables, and acting as the bartender too. We could've received more attention. We had to wait a while for the check. Note that a member of management escorted me to the restroom when I asked where it was, versus just pointing in that direction (I appreciated that). Everyone was nice-enough. REMEMBER - 20% gratuity is included on all checks already. They have it printed on the menu, but the waitress isn't going to remind you. Overall, four stars.

   Food and server excellent BUT Waited 110 min for food, too loud to talk at table, exorbitant (menu prices on the high side of avg but everything is extra - sides, sauces, flavors of chicken, mandatory 20% gratuity).

   The place is very nice, the servers are knowledgeable and polite and the food was delicious, but it took forever for the kitchen to prepare the plates... our reservation was for 5:30 pm and we were seated at 5:55 pm, the server was nice enough to let us know the kitchen was running about an hour behind before she took our drink orders and she continued to check back with us approximately every 15 to 20 mins but our order didn't come out of the kitchen until 7:58 pm as we had watched two young couples one on each side of us get tired of waiting and left, both of them had infants and had come there to celebrate Mother's Day and weighted over an hour at their tables and then left without eating. The restaurant would have made 2 or 3 times the money if the kitchen was organized and or staffed properly, it was actually very sad to see such a fine black establishment fail so badly and the appeared to be no management on hand, no one was checking on customers or helping the staff, so I can only assume they were all in the kitchen, but no discounts, coupons to ensure we returned after such an experience, just a shameful way to conduct business on such an important day.

   Food was good, but definitely not worth the price . Took over an hour for our food to come out.

   Food, outstanding! Our waitress was good. My two complaints were: 1. The waitress took our (the family’s) order for soft drinks. I asked for a lemonade. I received my lemonade and later ask for a refill expecting it would be no charge like the soft drinks. She proceeds to tell me that it would be an extra $11.00 for a refill. WTH!! Keep in mind, the prices of the food are not on the menu when I pulled the menu up on their website while waiting for our table to be called. I then proceeded to order Sprite at that point so I could receive free refills. Assuming, at the end of the evening (Mother’s Day) when it was time to settle the check, I would be charged for the over-priced lemonade and not the Sprite. I was totally wrong, I was charged for both! I’m not out to get anything free and understand that this is a business that’s trying to make money. I have a business myself. From the customer service point of view, sometimes you have to do the right thing by not charging for the Sprite, which was less than the lemonade. That didn’t happen! I didn’t want to ruin my wife’s evening on Mother’s Day, this was more than just an holiday. This was a family that was trying to heal. I didn’t question it with the waitress because of our situation. 2. I just spent $425.00 on dinner with the tip already included. Now the waitress is looking for an additional tip on top of that! What kills me is when someone is being deceiving and doesn’t list the itemized receipt at the time of payment. I had enough sense to ask if the gratuity was already added? It was. Needless to say, no additional gratuity was added based on what I already experienced. Overall, it was a great experience, but I’m not sure if I’ll be returning due to the deception.

   Nice atmosphere but the food took entirely too long. We had to wait almost 30 minutes just to get water and order drinks, then another hour for our food.

    The worst $256 I’ve ever spent on food! I would never go back to this place again. Good Luck y’all are going to need it.
