Kitchen & Bar at Safety Harbor
New owners and seasoned restauranteurs Tom Golden(The Lure, Vintage, The Artisan), Michael Stewart(Ava, 717 South), and Executive Chef Jason Rodis are keeping some of the old menu favorites while introducing an eclectic mix of New American dishes served tapas-style. Our newest editions include a full liquor bar and adding even more charm to this historic bungalow setting: an outdoor pavilion where you can dine under the twinkling oak trees and stars.

The food is always cooked to perfection and great staff. Love this restaurant!
Nice mix of items available on menu. The food was absolutely delicious. Service prompt and friendly.
My first time there and loved it! Will be back :)
First time and quite an pleasant surprise, great food , nice staff. This restaurant was recommended by a friend for a romantic dinner and he was spot on. We ordered two small plates, seafood risotto and duck wings and a main dish , a fantastic bone in pork chop with an incredible apple chutney and mash sweet potatoes prepared like I have never had them before. Looking forward to our next visit, BTW my wife is a chef and we eat out on the average of once per week, she was as impressed as I was.
Could not have a conversation because of the loud music and noise. Food was not great, vegetables were awful, who wants sauce in a filet? Pork chop difficult to cut with a steak knife. Won’t go back.
Great service and delicious food
Waiter was assigned to larger size tables and seemed not to have enough time to cover all as well as he should. Sangria was not as good as others we have had. Appetizers and desserts were outstanding. I will be back.
LESSONS ON HOW TO LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER!!!
Do you know places where they have no problem? - you're the problem! That's the case. It was our anniversary. We had dine at least a couple of times at the Kitchen's before (once with guests) and enjoyed the experience in both cases. This time was different - a total disaster! Started when I shared with the server that had been there (trying to show that we liked the place). He took it as a sign not to introduce himself (I had to ask later - it was Jeremy) or share some of the "particular" rules of the house. It continued when the entrées did not arrive at the same time: We were informed that they follow a special order when serving food - they ship them as they become ready - and that we should know it because it was written in the low right hand corner of one of the internal menu pages. It follows with having to cancel our second drinks that were quite late (again, follow their processing rules). And ended when the waiter (no mention to our special date) said that I should have been more courteous. We then escalated to the general manager, who stated that the rules were printed in "black and white" in the menu and suggested that we should learn to read. To crown the night she called the chief and owner who again explained their process and that we should no better.
Bottom line, if you plan to go there, make sure you learn their methods in advance and DON'T DARE to deviate from them. Otherwise you're going to meet with some really angry people. Ah, one more thing, they returned our money on their initiative, not ours.
Always great food and service. Never a problem and always a pleasure.
Wonderful staff. Comfy setting with all types of options for seating. Quiet and cozy. Excellent food and daily specials.
We were on vacation in the area, we wanted sushi and Kitchen came up on Open Table recommendations.
Food was outstanding. Service could be improved. If you do go only order one course at a time. The restaurant has Tapas type service so dishes come out as they are ready - which is fine and they explain that prior to ordering - but it leads to a very rushed dining experience/feel - in our case the dishes came out one right after the other. So I would say order as you want the food. Other than that learning experience and piece of advice to you - I would say put this eatery on your places to visit.
Excellent food and the Staff are exceptional. It is our go to place in Safety Harbor
Exceeded our expectations. Our very friendly server, Chris’ recommendations, the saganaki, Greek scampi, and the mahi with that amazing aioli. We will be back!!
It is always a fabulous dining experience at The Kitchen and Bar. Delicious food, excellent service and ambiance.
This is a very quaint restaurant, right off of main street in downtown Safety Harbor. The food can be a little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for, because everything tasted phenomenal! It's also has very nice ambiance as well, certainly a great date place! Looking forward to going again!
Nice place, great food and good service. There on Saturday night.
The reviews were good so I thought we’d try it out. Was not that impressed. The tapas style service was way to fast . I had barely started on a sushi roll then my hot dish came out. I felt very rushed. On top of that the grouper was flavorless. My partner has the pork chop which she liked. Cocktail was so so and the wine list could do with updating as it’s pretty basic. Desert though was yummy. Well give the place another shot but overall pretty mediocre.
My wife and I enjoyed a WONDERFUL Valentine's Salmon Dinner. As always, the food was 5-star and so was the service! We LOVE Kitchen & Bar in Safety Harbor! If you haven't tried it, you need to!
The Tomahawk is absolutely amazing. We had an absolute great Valentine's Day Dinner. Appetizers were great, the wine was perfect and the food was outstanding. Definitely a great place to go for any occasion.
Same excellent food and service as ever! Love the petite filet. Drinks are a generous pour too. Atmosphere is always great!
Food and service excellent. Presentation and pace of service also excellent. Loved sitting on their back porch.
This place was fine. I had the New York strip steak and I had a bad cut. It was very tough with lots of gristle. They might do better on some of the more simple offerings. My GF seemed happy with her mahi-mahi
A very interesting menu provides a tasty backdrop to this little gem of a restaurant. Having explored many of the interesting menu offerings to test for a 'less-than-delightful' dish, we have so far failed. The cosy, Southern-styled decor provides a very pleasant ambiance, with a rear outdoor patio, giving indoor and outdoor options for all preferences. The sushi/sashimi dishes complement the rest of the menu for those with 'raw' hunger.
This was our second time here and this place has become one of our favorites. Good food, great service. We enjoyed our evening and will be back!!
Honesty, I have nothing but great things to say about this little gem. The place was super cute and quaint. The service was amazing and the food was beyond my expectations!!!! Definitely will be back and spread the word:)
Always a wonderful experience here. Cocktails and food exceptional.
We enjoyed our time at The Kitchen, we sat outside in the front and the ambience was so nice with the fireplace and lights, very pleasant! They also have a lovely back patio where they had a musician playing... Since I am gluten free this would not be my first place to visit in the future, they do have some options, providing gluten free soy sauce for the sushi (which my daughter said was so so good) would be awesome because I'd come back just for the sushi and the ambience frequently. The scallops and sweet potato mash was outstanding and my steak was also good. Everything is cooked on demand and even though you might not get your food all at the same time, that didn't even matter... Give this place a try if your in the area!
Excellent food and service ❤️
The food is great as well as the service! The filet was cooked to perfection and the scallops are amazing!! Can’t wait to go back!!
We had a wonderful time and the food was great!
Great experience we will be going again to sample more delicious foods
fantastic food, service and atmosphere!!! A place to try
A last minute dining reservation turned out to be a gem of an evening with 3 'wow' courses. Quirky and quaint, friendly and fun. The Kitchen has been added to our top 'Tier 1' restaurants, when we are in the mood for something out of the ordinary.
Large selection of flavorful food. Not your average offerings ..delicious and good portions. The servers and staff were practicing good covid precautions. The setting was perfect for a relaxing evening outside. We'll be back!
First time dining here and really enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be back.
Definitely worth a repeat visit, or two! Very good menu, everything we tried was wonderful.
Always a fantastic meal! Service was spectacular! Love our almost weekly visits!
This was a last-minute reservation, as my husband and I usually have Christmas Eve dinner at home, often a pre-cooked holiday meal ordered from a local market. But after stalling on these usual plans this time around, we finally decided to do something different this year, and lucked out that Kitchen we sensed a genuine desire to create a joyful dining experience for their guests. We were seated at a quiet table tucked in the back, where we had a lovely view out the window at the trees and stormy sky. That and the rustic decor provided a real feeling of retreating into a happy little sanctuary, while the accompanying familiar music tracks added a comfortable element of nostalgia to the mood. And then there was our meal! We both found plenty of options to suit each of our tastes; especially rewarding for me was to behold the many different vegetable options, of which I eagerly took advantage. Both of our selections exceeded our hopes and expectations; the food was clearly very freshly prepared, minimally but artfully seasoned, and offered in just the right portions - satiating but not gluttonous. It was the best Christmas gift we could have asked for - both the delectable experience itself and the gratifying opportunity to support a local establishment at the holidays! We will definitely be back. A plus plus plus!
In a converted old house 2 blocks off the main drag in Safety Harbor is a true gem of a restaurant. EVERY SINGLE BITE was OUTSTANDING!!! The service was excellent, the chef even came around to check on everyone. Definitely worth multiple repeat visits.
