   After placing reservations online for our anniversary dinner my husband called to confirm the reservation on 3/9/20 as we had not heard anything... luckily he did as when he called we werent scheduled. As if it matters they then proceeded to make and confirm reservations for the 10th. But on the 10th.. 3hrs before our reservation they had attempted to contact us.. mind you some people work and aren't able to be on their phone 24/7... my husband missed the call and then recieved the text message of the cancellation. I understand things happen but there could have definitely been a better way to handle it and accommodate your guest considering people may have made these plans for a special occasion, may have also taken time off of work, or may have also searched for a sitter to enjoy this such occasion. the excuse was leaky roof could be potentially hazardous to our customers. Stuff like that doesn't just happen.... Cancellation could have been communicated with guest a little earlier for guest to have time to make other plans. Atleast I know what resterunt not to go to or to even attempt to make reservations for..

   Service was slow seemed like the staff was hurrying. We waited over an hour to get served after ordering. Food was good (chicken dish was tasty but steak lacked flavor). Restaurant was plain and some menu items were not available.

   We enjoyed our dinner at Kitchen 919 overall. Our server was great and the food very good! The kitchen was either short staffed or just over taxed. Entree's took 45 minutes after appetizers were served to arrive. The hostess proactively offered complimentary desserts for the delay but she never informed the server which led to an awkward moment. When we ordered dessert they took 15 minutes to arrive... I really think it was just an off night. We will definitely give it another shot though.

   The shrimp and grits and brussels sprouts were outstanding. Everything we ordered was really good. We will go back! Very interesting (and nice) decor.

   First visit. Celebrating my husband’s birthday. We had drinks in bar beforehand. Excellent bartender and excellent drinks. Our waiter was fantastic, well versed on menu and made excellent suggestions. The fried green tomatoes are unlike anything I’ve had elsewhere in Knoxville. They were delicious as were the crab cakes. My husband and son both had a beef entree which they both enjoy very much. Salmon dish very good as well. The bread pudding was phenomenal. Ambience quite nice and overall highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

    Overall a great experience. The chef came out and spoke with us, and personally fixed an issue we had with one of the appetizers. I was impressed the chef took it upon himself to speak directly with patrons about their food experience. It showed a great deal of character, and told us that Kitchen 919 stands behind the quality of their service and product.
