Hostess refused to seat us in lower half of restaurant by windows even though we had reservations and there were multiple empty tables there. Then she seated another family at one of those empty tables right after seating us. When we asked our waitress if there was some special request needed to sit by the windows, she said no and was confused. Later it came out that hostess was trying to help our waitress out by giving her a table in the area we were seated, which is fine, but the way she did it was kind of rude nonetheless. Lie waitress was really nice but forgot about 30% of our order. Not a huge deal, we had a pleasant dinner anyways and food was fine, but the whole experience became kind of awkward because of the hostess’s actions. Oh well!
Not as Fancy as expected BUT top Notch food and Service! The Prime Rib might well be the best I've ever had!!!
Horrible service. Ordered appetizers that came after our entree. Waiters were lost and didn’t know what to do.
Last night on the island dinner. Told immediately they were all out of fish. Not crowded - server was extremely slow and had to ask him multiple times for menus. Good reviews - but horrible experience- would not recommend
The ahi poke nachos were great! A definite must-try at this restaurant.
Love the Happy hour and friendly staff
Inexpensive compared to other options on Maui.
Great food and had my favorite wine, Meomi !
We enjoyed our shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer and dinner and drinks. The waiter was very pleasant and gave us suggestions on our drinks since we couldn’t decide which was sweeter of the cocktails. Beats having to cook dinner on vacation.
Food was ok.
Wonderful service and excellent food! Came during happy hour and got some great deals! Happy hour is 3 to 6 pm everyday! Our waitress was awesome! It was apparent that she was dealing with difficult customers, but she was nice and and very helpful to us. It is a crazy and stressful time people, be nice to each other! Highly recommend!
Quick seating but waiter was new and did not understand about the Open Table reservation. Happy hour drinks were VERY watered down.
Food was ok on the most part. The mahi mahi fish tacos were superb. The non happy hour drink (Southern Cross) was excellent. The Shirley Temple for my child tasted like cough syrup (how hard is it to mix grenadine & sprite).
We asked for a burger with no cheese for our child and the waiter totally understood the request and repeated it back to us yet the burger came out with cheese and had to be sent back. He also told us that they had BBQ sauce but when the kitchen brought out the burger they they’ll us they don’t have BBQ sauce.
The website is very confusing. We asked about this as there appear to be two sites with the same name. We were informed that the original site was still up even though the restaurant was sold and had new ownership. The restaurant is now supposed to be a Mexican/ Hawaiian fusion.
If they can work out the bugs and provide food as good as the mahi mahi tacos they will do well.
Cocktails were only so so. The restaurant was only 1/2 full, yet they seemed short-handed/ overwhelmed.
The one highlight was the bus boy, he provided water, silverware, napkins, & was kind. The manager was our waiter, but he did not do a good job.
Wish I could rank higher. But in our week in Maui, we had great service & food everywhere, except at 5315.
Go to Safeway & buy milk and cereal rather than dine at 5315.
This place was perfect for my bf birthday. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was super friendly!!! The portions were huge, we barely finished an appetizer and one entree together. Hopefully will come there again!!❤️🥳
The fare was good; it's tasty and filling. It's not what I nor my wife would call "special," but it served the purpose and didn't break the bank. Another plus was that it was actually possible to book a table (albeit an early seating at 4:45), which is more than I can say about the rest of the sit-down restaurants in the area.
The service is -glacial- but friendly. It's best just to order a Mai Tai while you wait for your meal, and enjoy the view of the bay through the big picture windows (when the blinds are not covering them, that is).
Service was horrible, food was ok , drinks were good.
The food was ok. Not a place for a special date night. They were super busy, maybe understaffed but it took too long for everything.
Very disappointed. Service was poor, food was mediocre at best. We mentioned it was a special occasion and they seemed to do everything they could to ruin it. Felt crowded and somewhat unsafe given the tenuous post-pandemic time we were there. Kids and adults running about without masks
The food and drinks were enjoyable. The Niu shrimp were outstanding as was the luau plate I had. The Lau lau was good and the mahi-mahi was very moist. My chi chi kappa was very good as well. The single issue was the service — friendly enough but perhaps not sufficiently trained or attentive. The young server took our order for drinks, appetizer and main plates. The food appeared all together with the drinks coming last! Not sure what the issue was that led to that but not ideal. We had good food in a straight forward, a bit of a throwback atmosphere (think tiki everything).
Food was very fresh and delicious! We went to another restaurant the night before and the food was more expensive but was horrible and took forever. This restaurant was way better and cheaper for better food. The service was great and kind and I would totally come back!
We are in Maui during the time of Covid restrictions, so you got to give some slack to all the restaurants who are overwhelmed and understaffed. Had a lovely meal here last night with friendly service. Food was delicious. Glad we found it and look forward to returning.
Delicious food!! Highly recommend the Korean short ribs
Love this place.Never want to come to MAUI AND NOT visit it at least 3 times. The service is great. The drinks are great. The food is great. Really appreciated being told about happy hour. Was so good!
Cocktails were mediocre
Prime rib was tough
Fish was good.
Music was too loud
There was no AC on and the windows were closed, so there was very little air circulation. Room was too warm and stuffy.
We ordered gluten free food because of celiac in our party and was brought food with gluten. Then the table next to us had the same issue and had eaten the food given to him and was very sick. Does not take allergies seriously
Stuffy, understaffed, food was decent but slow to arrive
The food here was surprisingly very good. The tiki bar was cute. It was a little warm & humid in the restaurant. Our appetizer plates weren’t totally clean. I would still go back.
Food was mediocre at best. Everything was lukewarm. Water served without ice, drinks were bad. Restaurant had an old fryer oil smell
Food and service was amazing!! Congrats at Kitchen 5315 team!!!
Only problem was no air conditioning. It was broke. Otherwise a good value.
The $1 mimosas were highlight! Food quality and prices were good. Tiki bar looked fun!
With pandemic restrictions in Hawaii and most restaurants booked out 4 weeks or more, it's unbelievable that a restaurant isn't able to fill its tables. Now, I know why - why 5315 was the only restaurant with reservations available!
When we arrived for dinner, there were only 4 occupied tables in the restaurant. One large table got up and left because they hadn't been waited on, and another table got angry because it took so long to get their check. Meanwhile, the hostess turned away a 6 top that hadn't made reservations. This all should have been a heads up to us.
The food was clearly frozen (including the hamburger buns) and the fish smelled bad. Cocktails were sub-par to say the least. The bus boy dropped utensils with food on us. We told the waitress I was allergic to pineapple, and when we received our meal there were little cubes of pineapple sprinkled all over it.
When it was time to pay, the waitress presented us a $15 check. I asked what it was for because our check should be $105. She said, "I don't know. A lot of customers have been getting these!" WTF?? I suggested she had better look into it. She did and came back with a new check that seemed correct, but she couldn't give me a voided copy of the previous $15 check. Such a strange thing for a restaurant!
Don't go here. There is a reason why it's the only place in town with reservations. Mc Donald's is a step up compared to this!
Their AC went out but that’s not really their fault but it was hot in the restaurant. Otherwise the food was great and the server took great care of us.
Great place for dinner! A little strange when you pull up into parking lot but the food was worth it! Delicious!
This is family restaurant for guests of the resort and surrounding erea. Excellent location. Excellent garden landscape. Plenty of parking. Food is from above average to really good and fresh. Service is okay, not bad. Variety of drinks offerings from delicious fruit smoothie to alcohol. I appreciate this restaurant In this location because I stay in next door condos which has no eatery of any kind. Especially we have no car which is a real unexpected inconvenience for our stay after the pandemic. Thanks for your service.
The food was rubbery and poor quality. The service was okay but the food was bad.
Bad food and lacked flavor. Slow servce
First time. Enjoyed the food and service. Good price for portion. Will go back.
A gem of a hotel restaurant. Most places have overpriced mediocre food in Maui when they're connected to a hotel. Not only does this restaurant have a nice Tiki Bar setup, but they have authentic Hawaiian food, including the hard-to-find, but amazingly delicious Lau Lau! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're staying in Kaanapali!
Prompt service, had poke appetizers and mahi-mahi for main. Both were wonderful.
