Nice relaxing place to eat with good service Just to say they accept dogs in the restaurant, I have been there twice since it has changed hands and in my opinion it has improved overall. The menu was traditional with Skullen skink and haggis tempting me. The only issue with the food is that the pie (with very tasty meat) was not encapsulated in pastry but a dish of meat with a piece of puff pastry sat on top. It is one of my pet annoyances and I should of asked before I ordered it, There is good veggie and vegan options I will return and enjoy more good hospitality

The meat was excellent (nicely pink, not overdone), the Yorkshire was fresh and hot but the mac and cheese was the topper. Used to cheesy cauliflower for Sunday roast (one of my faves) but the mac and cheese made me forget it wasn't there. My wife refused to leave any on the plate. If you are not there for the Sunday roast, order the mac and cheese if it is available. Lovely meal all around

A table was booked for 12 midday and the restaurant opened at exactly 12 midday! We were a bit concerned as we pulled up because it all looked closed. The food was very nice indeed although there were only one or two vegan options which was a bit of a shame. For dessert the vegan brownie was not on the menu, and there was only one choice of vegan ice cream. The lady who served us was very kind, especially to our two grandchildren as they enjoy ordering their own food and she was very patient with them.

Last minute reservations were quick and easy. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff were delightful. We stayed until closing time and were never rushed. Excellent experience!
