Kirby's Prime Steakhouse - The Woodlands Ratings and Reviews
Each time we dine at Kirby’s, the food is outstanding, the service is well- timed and attentive yet not overbearing. They always make us feel like the only ones there! The steak is fantastic, and you must get the Au gratin potatoes. Will definitely be back!
Our recent meal at Kirby's was just OK. We have eaten more recently at Trulucks and at Del Frisco's. Both of those restaurants welcome you warmly and are much more attentive with the service. We were celebrating a birthday and I really felt like it was just any other meal and we typically don't go out and spend over $300 for dinner. It was very loud in the restaurant and hard to hear the staff. Our waitress was nice and tried hard but looked frazzled. I would not recommend Kirby's over the lther steak house options in the Woodlands.
The service was excellent but I was expecting the steak to be excellent, which it was not. The steak was cooked perfectly but was very bland. I've had a better steak at Saltgrass steakhouse and it was half the price. Not impressed with the food quality at Kirby's.
first of all they have complimentary shuttle service so call them before you want to go: it is quite far from Houston, nice fireplace wait you at the entrance, very good steaks with all diiferent cooking method, nice waiters and warm place.
Price are average.
The restaurant was beautiful and the staff treated us so special. Our server Mike was nice, funny, totally charming. Zoe the hostess provided pictures of our special occasion which was my boyfriends 50th birthday. The cake was excellent and a total surprise. My boyfriend like crab legs and filet mignon and he could not stop raving about his meal!
Everything was very good except to situations. One of the steaks were overcooked and the porkchop veal pork chop wasn't cooked properly according to the guest. He did not want to have it return but did not finish the meal. Everything else was very very good and we appreciate the service was super.
The service was terrific. It was New Year's eve and sometimes restaurants give you the feeling of running everyone through as quickly as possible. The staff took time to discuss specific menu needs we had. Checked with the kitchen and provided us with off menu alternatives. We will definitely return.
The New Years eve menu promised a lot but failed to deliver. The duck starter was cold, soggy and very little flavor. Chopped salad bland and soggy. My steak was great (as usual) but my partners sole was awful. Also, the accompanying mash potato (cold and lumpy) and root vegetables undercooked. Dessert was superb!!
Service was not great either. We were a 9h30 booking, seated at 10 and you could tell that the staff were exhausted by the time they got to us.
Not a good evening, but we know it is normally much better and will be back!!!
Wow! What a perfect night! We traveled to Kirby’s for our first time to celebrate a birthday, just expecting a nice steakhouse. We left knowing it would be a place we’d come forever. Everything about our experince was top notch. From our server (Candice), to the exceptional meals, to the complimentary dessert, and even the special photo given to us along with a gift card! While some of these things were due to our small celebration, Kirby’s still went above and beyond to treat us to a special evening. You created a special memory for us and earned lifelong customers! We would highly recommend the woodlands location to others for any occasion!
Excellent gluten free selection. Waiter was fantastic. Service was first class. Left overs were boxed and bagged and while not as good the next day, it was still good.
The ONLY complaint I have about the food was the Shrimp Cocktail. The shrimp was dry. I would bet it was put in the fridge dry. Should be stored on ice and moist.
Now for the Chilean Sea Bass......without a doubt the absolute best I have ever had....and I have had it around the world. The "sear" on the outside was perfect.....not too much and not too little. I went to cut off a bite with my knife and fork.....and the weight of the knife alone sliced into it without any pressure from me. The taste was Heavenly. It melted in my mouth. I am dying to try the Surf and Turf next time but it is going to be real tough not to order the Bass again. Guess I will just have to go more often.
The prices are high so don't expect a "cheap date". That said, the quality/quantity of food and the impeccable service and ambiance make up for the price. Unless you are very wealthy, save this place for a special occasion or to impress a date. It can be described as a "Fine Dining Experience" that you must try at least once when you are in the area.
A special thanks to the establishment for offering a number of entrees that do not contain wheat flour. Those of us who have celiac disease are terrified of going to a new place only to find a very limited number of gluten free items or items that say gluten free but end up making us very sick afterwards.
