Dinner was delicious! Kiran’s was recommended by a colleague of mine. Everything from the appetizers down to the hot tea and cookies was wonderful! Can’t wait to go again!
Dinner was superb. Alex is the Best Waiter, had everything running smoothly and was very helpful in explaining the nuances in the various dishes. The greeting staff tried to seat us in a high traffic entrance area, yuck! But I insisted on be moved to the main dining area. We even had a reservation for 10 days or so. Lazy or negligent - not sure.
If you make a reservation do so online then call and be specific about not sitting the high traffic entrance area.

Kirans is an OUTSTANDING restaurant!! You can have traditional Indian plates, upscale dining or a tasting menu and every plate is delicious!! The flavor is just so good, we have never ordered anything we didn't love! A few of my personal favs- the roasted eggplant is amazing, the palak paneer and the vindaloo are also the best I have ever had.
Restaurant was very cold
We ordered 3 dishes, here are their reviews
Lamb Belly- beautifully charred, moist and flavorful, a great start to the meal
Crab/Corn samosas- no idea why these are on the menu. They tasted like generic crab cakes inside a samosa wrapper, easily could've been an eggroll wrapper. Inside was ample crab meat but unfortunately littered with green and red bell pepper. Nothing about it felt either elevated cuisine or even Indian influenced. A real disappointment
Lamb Korma- Not the best we've had, but definitely better than most. Could've used more flavor and slower cooked meat. Hoped for more considering the price point of everything on the menu.
Basil Saffron Ginger cocktail (don't recall the name)- Fantastic drink, well crafted by a true expert. The highlight of the meal
Naan- Buttered naan, can't go wrong, made a fine delivery method for the remaining Korma sauce.
Service is excellent and befitting the ambience, location and price.
I waited for over 45 min for a vegetarian meal and it never arrived the waitstaff kept telling me a few more minutes then one of the managers came and said due to a big party they were behind, however it was not excuse the restaurant was practically empty and my meal was basically sautéed veggies and bread. Ultimately canceled the order since it was taking so long. My daughter and I left completely disappointed!!
Great food and service
Fantastic food and service. I brought friends that were new to Indian Cuisine and they really enjoyed the food and the experience!!!
Very nice place !
My husband is not adventurous when it comes to food but it was Mother’s Day so he went along with my choice of Indian food at Kirin’s. New to Indian food, I researched the menu before we arrived and was so exited to go to this restaurant. When we arrived, we were very impressed by the restaurant. It is vey large and elegant. Once seated, we waited quite a long time but no one came to our table. We finally flagged one of the servers down that kept passing our table and we asked for menus and water. The server said he would find us our server. A server then appeared and said that our server had not yet arrived so he would help us? What?
We told him we where new to Indian food and needed help with the menu. He did not know the menu and struggled to answer our questions. We ended up with a lentil dumpling that was ice cold. Literally ice cold, straight out of the refrigerator. We asked about it and he was surprised it was cold. He asked another server and came back and explained that it was supposed to be cold?
My husband ordered chicken tiki masala. The sauce was very flavorful but the chicken was very dry. He ate the masala sauce on naan bread and picked around the chicken. I am a vegetarian, so I ordered the black lentil daul. It was ok, but not served with anything. Just a bowl of lentils. I added Vindaloo sauce to it to add flavor and used some of my husband’s saffron rice to add texture. So strange. The waiter should have told me that I needed to order naan bread, rice or veggies with it.
The caprese naan bread and the cilantro onion naan bread were wonderful! Hot soft and flavorful!!! The cocktails were equally wonderful but pricey at $16 per cocktail but in my opinion worth it. I will try to convince my husband to try this restaurant again. Next time I would hope for an experienced server or just sit at the bar and order bar food so we can try a lot of things to see what we like. Overall it was a disappointing and very expensive mediocre meal.
Great first experience with Kirans I've been meaning to come for a while. Great food service was good, a bit off with the timing but we came for mothers day in the evening so I suppose a rush is expected.
Entering the restaurant was delightful. The seating was very nice The food was superb. The staff was very efficient. Stella was our server and she was great.
The flavors of the cuisine were unbelievable. Some in our party ordered traditional fare with Indian flavors and spices. While others enjoyed typical Indian food. Everyone loved their dishes. If you have never eaten or are not familiar with Indian food, go to Kirans. There is something for everyone.
Everything was fine except for the service which was appallingly bad. The waiter did not listen to our orders, he would leave the table before we finished talking and generally stayed out of sight. We had to signal down the manager to get some service. Out waiter would occasionally walk around our table, ask no questions, and disappear.
Afternoon Tea at Kkren’s is always a delight & joy. The chai tea is delicious, the assorted sandwiches fresh and tasty and scones and petit fours awesome. Service was admirable.
Overall it was a nice place for a special occasion meal with elevated Indian cuisine. Entrees, breads, desserts and cocktails were all outstanding albeit pricey. I was disappointed in the samosas for how much they cost ($16 for 2 crab and corn samosas). In fact I have had better ones in Indian grocery stores that sell for $1 each. We will go back but next time try the less pricey dishes like naanzzas.
Sarthak is great , as usual
Delicious food and wonderful service
Food is always consistent. Service could be a bit more attentive, but the server made up for it with solid guidance and recommendations. Overall very good!
Delicious dinner. Calamari was perfectly cooked with spicy dipping sauce. Excellent service. The red and blue seating areas are very attractive.
This is an upscale Indian restaurant with a high pricetag to go with it. As with most upscale ethnic restaurant, it has to cater to some non-Indian people as well, so there are quite a few not so authentic cuisine on the menu (ie duck confit, naan pizza) but they good overall. The problem I had with this place and why I won't be returning is the poor service, which is something you expect a pricy restaurant to be much better at. We had a reservation for 5 and was brought to a table that had seating for 5 but only 4 place settings. Ok that happens, no big deal. The fifth seat had water on the seat. The hostess saw that and said she will get someone to take care of it. Five minutes passed and nothing. We squeezed the fifth person into one of the seats while we waited. The waiter came out and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We told him about the water and he quickly wiped it off. This waiter was actually fine, very courteous and helpful. He did seem overwhlemed though. However my biggest problem was the busboys. After the first course came out, I still had half a piece of foie gras on my plate when the busboy lifted my plate to be taken away without asking anything. I told him I am still eating that. Instead of putting the plate back onto the table he just waited for me to pick it up with my fork. So there i have my piece of foie gras in my fork with no plate underneath it! So I went ahead and put it in my mouth. He then did it again with the plate of pani poori which were stuffed little cups that you pour a broth into the cup before eating. There was one left and again he took the plate without asking. When I motioned him to stop, instead of putting it down, he again just paused for me to take it. So here i have a pani poori in my hand (with the broth already taken away), and no plate to set it down on, and finishing a piece of foie gras in my mouth. Even some cheap hole in the wall place wouldn't do that, let alone a fine dining place.
The food and atmosphere was great! They were busy in the restaurant as well as for take-out orders so our food took longer than expected to arrive. When it did, we were not disappointed!
I had the masala dosa with lamb keema and it was absolutely incredible! Kiran’s naan is like no other and I can’t wait to go back!
The restaurant has nice ambience and it is beautifully decorated, but the food was not exceptional. Other Indian places are more flavorful, for example Pondicheri. The service was not what one would expect from a firsr class restaurant.
This is one of the best restaurants for food of any type in the entire Houston area.
Outdoor seating was great. Our waiter was very nice and attentive.
Food has great flavor but was disappointed the lamb was very fatty especially for the price. I had to leave 1/3rd of my dish
Me ha dejado maravillado, excelente comida y servicio.
No pueden irse de Houston sin visitarlo.
I live in New York and I think that Kiran's is the best Indian restaurant in the country! Have been four times in the last 2 years, every time was excellent.
Beat Indian food I’ve ever had. Each dish set the bar for what it should be.
We were not seated for a 7:15 reservation until almost 7:45. Then had a long wait for a server to ever come by. Was 8:15 before we could even get an order in, then was much delayed to a kitchen ticket issue.
Food was wonderful but the over all experience for the price was not desirable.
Excellent time at Kiran’s. Lunch was perfect - service was first class and Kiran’s food is world class!
Waiter was very helpful as not experienced with Indian food.
I treated a couple of staff members to lunch. I came for the chai but the food was fantastic—Pani Poori, the thali & the beet and goat cheese salad. We will be back for afternoon tea.
Excelente atención y comida deliciosa. Festejamos un cumpleaños y de sorpresa nos llevaron un pastel. Muy amables
Sarthak was amazing!
excellent food in a very pleasant dining room. Highly recommended for an occasion meal
It was a wonderful evening, and glad we choose Kiran’s for dinner. Good food and great service and beautiful atmosphere. We had the pleasure to meet the amazing women behind the success of this restaurant- Kiran herself; such a wonderful person, so humble, loving and down to earth. We will definitely go back for special occasions.
