The food and service were great. There was a large group of ladies celebrating a birthday or shower next to us that were very loud. They definitely detracted from our enjoyment. We should have asked to move to another table but kept thinking they were about through but then the place filled up and there were no vacant tables.

It started with the server recommending the cod tikka. When it came it was the chicken. The server said "oh this is chicken not fish". He then said " I told them fish" Then said "but the chicken is good why don't you try it". Then put a piece on my plate. We kept it.
Then the venison and the duck entrees were both over cooked. They were way past well done.

First and last time to dine here.

Very different from the old Kiran’s location. Felt like dining in the lobby bar of a business hotel. Lighting was too bright given the number of people in the dining area and close proximity of tables. Lacks the intimacy and charm of the old Kiran’s, but food is nonetheless outstanding.

I have been a patron of Kiran's since she opened the restaurant on Westheimer . My husband was completely charmed by her and my daughter (now 22) was introduced to Indian Cuisine at her tables. The restaurant was our go to spot with friends an family for a consistent amazing dining experience.

I have tried the new location twice and have been disappointed both times. The flavor is good, but instead of the lamb being fork tender it was full of gristle - in both the Korma and the Saag. The poppadoms were so salty my lips went numb and the accompanying sauces so scant as to be insufficient for the four diners in our party. Having said that, the RAJ KATORI was sublime. At the end of the day, if you want to pay a lot of money for the location and food that is not the quality we grew to love and I suppose expect, this is the place for you. As for me, next time I am craving Indian, I will try something completely new.

This new location is really beautiful . Decor very modern and classy. They had a harp player which made the ambiance very elegant and pleasant .
They serve three “courses “. First a mushroom samosa that was delicious, accompanied by a smooth chai tea. Refills are constant. Then came the tea sandwiches and half a deviled egg. The tea was now a Darjeeling. And last the tier platter of delicate scones with jams , butter and créme fraiche, and petite pastries served with Earl Grey tea.
Service is very attentive and cordial. Loved the experience!

Great creative cuisine in a quietly elegant surrounding. Service was a bit hectic but the food was superb. It’s frequented by a wide variety of cultures so you get the idea that it is rather authentic. I think the decor is a bit dated and conservative but nice (contrast crystal chandeliers in one part with bold Indian graphics ceiling panels in another). The tables could be spaced a bit farther aprart, but overall the experience was good. Great wine list (wine spectator awarded) with a nice variety of choices for the spicier fare.

My experience at Kiran's was exceptional. The flavors that Kiran puts in her dishes just explodes in your mouth. You don't have to like Indian food to like Kiran's Although her offering of traditional Indian dishes is exceptional, you can order more traditional entrees like Chilean Sea Bass but with spices that are not found in most restaurants.

Can't say enough about their Christmas buffet. Plenty of options for every kind of palate. Was really pleasantly surprised by the lamb tacos and blown away by the tamales. The salmon dish and the bison meatballs get an honorable mention too. Such a wonderful selection and matched with amazing service by every member of the staff. I look forward to many return visits.

Looking forward to an evening at Kiran's for a good while.

Reservation at 20:30 and seating was prompt however the ambience was more café than upscale eatery as advertised.

Having lived in India we were expecting some great authentic Indian food, unfortunately there was more fusion than Indian and although we ordered from the street foods and classics curries the food was nothing special, with the lamb (Rogan Josh) being incredibly tough and Dahl Makhni (Black Lentils) being full of red kidney beans.

One good aspect was their wine list was well appointed and well priced. However this did not outweigh the disappointment in the food.

Mentioning our disappointment to the waiter was a waste of time as he didn't seem to understand that not everyone is going to be happy, the manager did comp the Rogan Josh but all the other shortcomings were not addressed.

Overall a great disappointment and not worth a second try, there are better Indian establishments in Houston.

We made a reservation at Kiran's for an end of year dinner with business partners and none were disappointed. From the appetizers, including a delicious tandoor paneer, to the desserts, everyone seemed to enjoy the food whilst also engaging in great conversation. I'd highly recommend Kiran's for special nights, whether for couple, big families, or a business related get together.

I had not been to the "new" Kiran's after it moved from Westheimer so was looking forward to it. The food did not disappoint - I had crab samosas that were perfect and lamb vindaloo. The spice level (although I would have been OK with a little more heat) was perfect and brought out the flavors in the lamb and sauce. The accompanying rice and vegetables were perfectly cooked and delicious. It seems a little more expensive but the food is worth it - although I do wonder if Kiran's really needs the 15 or so different types of stuffed naan. I prefer the plain naan myself. What was so disappointing to me - and I hate to say it - was the decor and ambiance. One of the special things about the previous restaurant was its beauty. The colors, lights, fabrics, rug, white tablecloths - and it was one of those places that really did feel like a special night out. The new decor to me is nothing special and while I understand the new bar concept, the main dining room is dark (can't say the grey wall with odd pieces on it is even interesting) and the plain square room makes it unappealing. Too bad really. So, if you are going for the food alone - it was, as always, first class. But the rest was just OK.

I made reservations for my boyfriend's birthday that night - and due to traffic, we were late. They accommodated us and much more! We had reservations directly after dinner and I mentioned that we needed to be out by a certain time, the waiters said they would make that happen and were extremely on top of their things. I was super impressed with the service - thank you for contributing to helping make that night special!! The food was great! The recommendations given by the waiters were also on point. I can't say enough about our experience here - I have already recommended this place to a few friends. Definitely a great place to go out and enjoy a wonderful night. We will surely be back :)

Our first upscale Indian dining in the USA; it was delicious! Have eaten upscale in India, Singapore and Japan before, and this was on a par for the food. Service was better, but decor was more relaxed and generic. Could see the basketball game on the TV over the bar from the dining room, which always lessens the experience for me.

I made a reservation for Friday night, 12/8/2017, on Monday, 12/4/2017, for 8 o’clock. We got there a few minutes early and took a seat at the bar for a glass of wine. After enjoying a glass of wine, I inquired about the status of our table at approximately 8:10. Upon my inquiry, the host informed me that it would be an additional 20-30 minutes until our table was ready. There was a table open in the bar, so we settled for that since we had tickets to a movie at 9:40.

After sitting there for 5-10 minutes, we were still menu-less and hadn’t been visited by a server yet. Thankfully, the two gentlemen next to us were done and handed us theirs. After waiting a bit longer our server finally paid us a visit and took our orders. We received our food timely, but after dropping off our food, our server was no where to be seen for the rest of the night (save my run in with him in the kitchen, I’ll get to that in a second). At this point, we were still sipping on our wine from our initial seat at the bar. Given that we were eating Indian food, some water would have been nice so I managed to track down another waiter and asked him for some water. After not receiving any water for another 10 minutes or so, I walked over to the kitchen and found our original waiter having a gay ole’ time with his coworkers as he ate naan out of a basket. I eventually got his attention and was able to obtain 2 precious glasses of H2O.

Overall, this was not a pleasant experience as it was quite apparent the restaurant employees were completely overwhelmed and unable to fulfill the needs of their guests.
It should be noted that they were nice enough to comp three quarters of one glass of wine for the wait.

Will likely give them one more chance because the food is quite good, but the whole experience left something to be desired.

First time at new location. Not a good move. In fact, it was difficult to believe it was the same restaurant! It starts with the parking... self park somewhere in what appears to be an office building in which restaurant is located. We were unaware of logistics so valet parked half a block from entrance which we couldn't find!

Once in, place was large and loud. For those of you who anticipate physical layout similar to old location on Westheimer, be prepared for complete change. The old location was quiet, intimate and easily accessible. The new setting is just the opposite.

The food is what has always drawn my wife and I to this restaurant but the food was actually not up to par on this visit which never occurred at prior location. Food was always consistently delicious. Even the Naan was not up to their high standards. Service was good (silver lining).

I do not anticipate returning to what we once considered one of the best dining experiences to be found in Houston. Disappointing. Probably no mas!
