We booked a table, last minute, in the bar area. Can’t say I would do that again as it lacked ambiance and comfort. The Vindaloo meatballs were excellent as were the asparagus Pakora. The Texas Quail with fruity Biryani rice was very tasty and light. We finished with the lamb Korma. A delicious curry with spices on point. All in all we will return to try different dishes but it’s pricey ( $80 pp items listed plus 2 cocktails each) so beware
Thank you for making excellent quality Indian food. The Rose Martini was excellent quality as well. The new location is stunning and very comfortable!
Everything was fantastic. Owner worked the floor to guarantee a wonderful experience. Saw several friends who had similar experiences
Excellent lunch at Kiran's. We had the Punjabi Thali which is consistently good.
Food was as usual good but not as good as their old location. Had initial hiccups for check in. other than that experience was really good.
The food and service were excellent. We had four vegetarian sides. For the price, I thought the dishes were pretty small - but delicious. Onion Kulcha is not on the menu but our waiter said "no problem" and it was also delicious. The mushroom appetizer - you got it - delicious. We had a wonderful time.
The food at Kiran’s is alway top notch, gourmet Indian cuisine. Our waiter was friendly, efficient and professional. I highly recommended just about everything on the menu, and the cocktails are usually spot on. A couple of things were amiss on this visit: (1) they took our plates and remaining food off the table even though all but one of our group of four was still eating (without even asking if we were finished), and (2) it took forever to get our Pre-dinner cocktails, and when we ordered drinks with dinner they were also late to arrive (why is the bar so slow?)
For a dinner that cost $300 for four people I generally expect more polished and prompt service overall, and our waiter shouldn’t have to keep apologizing.
Top quality, "white tablecloth" (but comfortable and unpretentious) Indian dining. The service is excellent, the wait staff are knowledgeable and the items on the menu are varied and delicious.
Definitely pricey. We ordered three entrees, two appetizers plus bread and rice. Paid over 300.00 Didn't have wine or dessert.
Awesome modern Indian!!
We hadn’t been since they opened in this space in 2017. The place is gorgeous and the food is even better. The gosht naan was spicy and well stuffed, the samosas and chicken tikka chili were excellent, and the Cornish hen with Tamarind glaze and rice on the side was amazing. One caveat: It was big enough for two to split, so make sure you’re hungry when you order it! The bottle of prosecco we had ($40) was actually perfect with it. Go, and enjoy!
Enjoyed a fantastic lunch with friends. The new menu is exciting. All dishes we ordered were great but the prawn and green mango curry and potato nan were phenomenal. The kheer dessert was full of nuts yet light and refreshing.
Ambiance was amazing. Great cocktails and good food menu. Overall how felt recommended for a upscale Indian dinner 🙂
Totally enjoyed our meal and service. Loved the evening of good food.
Love this restaurant! I wish it was closer to me. I suppose I may have to move closer to there. It would be worth it.
I'm sad that I didn't find this restaurant when I first arrived in Houston; the food and service were excellent! This place has beautiful decore, live music, and a very friendly staff. The menu has lots of options and price points, so all can enjoy a wide variety taste and food preferences.looking forward to my next visit and sharing with friends...
One of the best Indian restaurants in Houston. A bit pricey but the whole experience is top notch, from the food to the service. On of our favorite spots.
I had the Sadya Tasting, a vegetarian seven course option (dinner), for $65. Kiran’s is the only restaurant I’ve ever visited where the vegetables are not overcooked. Our waiter was really considerate to bring my friend extras of my second and fourth tasting courses, so she would have something to eat while we waited for the fifth course, where she would receive her actual, ordered meal. I didn’t expect that sort of care or attention. We saw the chef, Kiran, around the dining area. Everything felt really personal. I’ll definitely come back. I would even come here regularly.
Food and service were excellent as always. Valet parking is a bit too expensive.
The appetizers seemed to have been made hours before they were served. Main courses were great.
Overall a good experience. We used the parking garage and the validation parking provided by our waiter was expired so ended up paying facility parking rates.
Authentic Indian food in an elegant setting!
I asked for a quiet table. The put us at one just inside the entrance to our he dining room. Everybody going in or out passed by! Not very quiet
Dinner took over 2 hours. At times we were totally ignored.
Wonderful food. Wonderful flavors. Wonderful environment.
As always, the food was outstanding. However, we were a bit disappointed with the overall experience. We purposely made a reservation for early dinner seating as we prefer to dine before ‘the crowd’. When we were seated, there were 2 other tables occupied with diners. Despite the dining room being relatively empty due to the early hour, we were seated right next to the 2 occupied tables - between the doorway to the bar and the kitchen door. Our experience would have been much more pleasant had we not felt we were having dinner squished in with the 5 other people in the dining room!
The food and service were wonderful; HOWEVER we weren’t seated until 45 minutes after our reservation. The front of house seemed disorganized and we were so hungry by the time we were seated that we scarfed down our appetizers. Please work on your reservation timing!
Food was great , service very good. Great wine list with amazing selections including half bottles. This place will be part of our rotation. Awesome vegetarian choices
Fabulous as always!!
Ordered the cassoulet for which Chef Kiran won a cassoulet contest in NYC competing against French chefs--excellent as was the service.
We love Kiran's! Consistently great food, and love the decor of the "new" place.
A consistent favorite! Food, service, and wine selection excellent!
Met for a business dinner. Atmosphere was perfect. Food was great. Service was quick. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Food is refined, precise, traditional, and high quality. The presentation is good.
The fusion seafood, tandoori, curries and vegetarian options are authentic and can be spiced up and down!
Opportunities: the current dining atmosphere is less cozy than the old haunt in Highland Village. The ambience is colder and less personal. This could be addressed by softening the interior with more drapes and increasing the one-on-one interactions with the staff.
We had a wonderful experience dining at Kiran’s. The food was amazing and delicious. The service was exceptional.
Not a pleasant experience. The lamb and potato samosas were very dry. The chicken tikka masala was dry and lacking in flavor. The vegetables were oily. Usually the food is great at Kirans. Not sure what happened this time. I won’t be back anytime soon.
We were a party of 4 @ 7:00 pm. Traditional Indian dishes were over priced compared to quality/$ available in other Houston restaurants. We had wanted nan and lentils ahead of our meal but everything arrived at once and took to long (finished a bottle of white wine with no food of any kind on the table). In general, I would say the the service was not up to the level that they are trying to attain with this restaurant. The front entrance is not identified and the valet stand is around the corner of the building and easy to drive past! Just a few of the little things that have not been well thought-out. Keep trying but I will give it a year before returning.
Fantastic- best Indian cuisine I have experienced in North America. Just Go.
Very flavorful food. A terrific restaurant. Waiter was very helpful. Owner came by to see how everything was. Highly recommend.
Extremely expensive without the quality of food or level of service to match.
Best Indian food in Houston. Kiran Verma is the best. A Houston must “go to” restaurant.
