We were celebrating my 80th birthday. This is my favorite Indian restaurant and my favorite restaurant overall. The food is always excellent and we were very well cared for by a very attentive waitstaff. Their relatively new location is also a big step up from where they were before. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
The food was great and so was Jeremy!
My spouse, daughter and her significant other took me to Kiran’s for my birthday. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the dinner, sharing all the plates. We started off with cocktails, all of which were well designed and tastefully presented. I had the Ginger Serrano (or was it habanero?) Margarita which I enjoyed immensely. We then ordered 3 appetizers from the Indian Street Foods section of the menu. Our choices were heavily influenced by our waiter and his knowledge of the menu. The three appetizers were the Chili Tikka (chicken), the Onion Bhaji Pakora, and three of the four types of Samosas. All three were excellent but the Chili Tikka was our favorite. The coating on the Onion Bhaji was minimal and just enough to allow them to be fried and turn crispy. The Samosas were flaky and not overly bready or doughy with very tasteful fillings. For our main courses, we had the Chilean Sea Bass cooked in the Tandoori oven and served with an apricot chutney and Cicken Tikka Masala plus a side of Palak Paneer (which in many Indian restaurants would be called Saag Paneer). All were excellent with the bass and chicken being tender and moist. To finish up, we shared a piece of upside down pineapple cake which had been decorated for my birthday and spotted a single candle instead of numerous boxes’ worth of candles and was complements of Kiran’s. The waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The wine list was reasonable extensive although I ended up with a bottle of Rose Champagne which was not on the menu and which I got for slightly less than Kiran’s would normally have sold it because it was not on their list and they only had 3 bottles of it left. I sometimes ask the sommelier if the restaurant has any bottles not on the wine menu and which they would sell at a reduced price and this time Kiran’s had exactly what I wanted.
Our first time in the new location, and it is lovely. Kind if miss the intimacy of the previous location.
You can make a reservation doesn’t mean they’ll have a table for you......does this sound like the Seinfeld episode???!!!😑
This place has very pleasant service and scrumptious food
Kiran's serves up a trifecta of delicious food, attentive waitstaff and bartenders, and an inviting ambiance. The bar area is beautiful and offers outstanding happy hour and daily specials. The bartenders, like the waitstaff, are patient in answering many questions about the fare. In spite of the big TV's on the wall above the bartenders' area, there was a quiet atmosphere conducive to conversation. In a similar manner, the dining areas allow diners to carry on a conversation at a normal speaking volume - something I always appreciate! There is an abundance of delicious dishes and appetizers. The samosas are fantastic - we had the crab & corn and the mushroom & feta and both were delicious. As our entree, we ordered the Baby Spinach Saag, along with the garlic stuffed naan bread, and the never ending papadums with chutneys. After that the naan bread wasn't the only thing that was stuffed! But we did have a little room for the beautifully presented and tasty birthday dessert that was served as a surprise to my dining partner! Thank you, Kiran's, for a lovely and memorable dining experience. I'll see you again soon!
Always amazing food and outstanding service. Chef Kiran never disappoints!
Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Great place to celebrate Diwali.
Outstanding Indian food and our waiter, David, was excellent. I would ask for him again.
Fabulous!! I can’t waiting to return and bring family & friends!
Had a wonderful evening at Kiran's. Service was exceptional. As the waiter placed my plate down, the Chef appeared within seconds to inform me that the sea bass dish typically was a larger portion than was on my plate so she was having another filet prepared for me in the back kitchen. I tried to explain it was not necessary but the waiter insisted the chef would have it no other way. Ended up taking the other fish home and enjoyed it the next day.
Food was amazing and our service was impeccable. Thanks David for a great overall experience and making our dining experience fantastic.
Great food. Great service. Very enjoyable experience.
Excellence all around, food, service, ambiance. Enjoyable business dinner, where you could actually have a conversation. Will go back when in Houston.
Great food and service
We are both vegetarian, and the Vegetarian Feast is spectacular. The cocktails are also adventurous and amazing. We hope to be back soon!
Good Indian Restaurant. Food is good. Staff is courteous.
Excellent fine Northern Indian food prepared with care paired with excellent wines. The ambiance is inviting and sociable and business-appropriate.
Sets the mark for Indian food definitely and for food in general in Houston. Wait staff was so efficient and delightful. Highly recommend the Crab salad and the Punjabi Thali for lunch.
Amazing food and service! Can't wait to come back and try more! Outstanding!
Excellent food and great service. Fantastic flavors and great service.
If you haven't enjoyed Kiran's high tea, you must gather friends and do so right away! We had a group of 10 and it was lovely. Several had no idea that Kiran's offered this wonderful option and said that they would be back. The food is plentiful and interesting. Very few places offer high tea and Kiran's is unique and no one is like them.
Loved it! Delicious food and amazing service!
Food is very good. Pricey - but at least food is worth it.
It is an experience to remember!! The service, the staff were top notch! And the food was absolutely the best. I would highly recommend to go and enjoy the best ever dining experience!!
The very best Indian cuisine I have had. Chef Kiran Verma has down something magical. She has found a way to translate love into food. I recommend Kirans with my whole heart!
I have a broken knee, they were so helpful making sure I was comfortable. The food is amazing, presented beautifully, very friendly and accommodating staff.
My only complaint, it’s hard to get into if your handicapped in any way.
Excellent service and the food was amazing as always!
I have been going to Kiran’s since she was at Ashianna. After my most recent visit, I don’t know that I’ll ever go back. I ordered 3 vegetarian dishes that I’ve ordered forever. They were all three mostly bell pepper. ???? Also, the food is outrageously priced. $7 for a cup of TEA! It’s excellent tea, but it’s tea. I was there for my birthday and I was disappointed...
Very Nice place, touching, tasty food, super service
Great servers, great menu, we got to meet Chef Kiran - all and all a really special evening.
Get ready for a flavor explosion. Amazing food. It is expensive, but (aside from desert) the food was fantastic.
Best lamb vindaloo in town, in an elegant and quiet atmosphere. The wine list was impressive and well-priced. Highly recommended.
Kiran’s is one of the great restaurants in Houston and has been around through all the trends. Great food combined with great service always wins.
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, & the mango cheesecake had my taste buds doing back flips.
Wonderful birthday celebration! Food, wine and service were outstanding.
Excellent! Best Indian food anywhere!
very spicy for our taste, ever though I asked to make it less spicy as possible.
