Kips food is very good. However this night it was crowded and we had a lousy server. Brought wrong salad, never came back with the tab.
We will go back but make sure we don't get this same server.
Went there for happy hour and to carpool before a hockey game. Good happy hour and good food choices. Will probably make it a meeting spot in the future.
Great food. Loved the ambience. Service was a little slow, but friendly.
Our Thanksgiving meal was good but not exceptional. It was served a little on the cool side,
and I like hot food hot, and cold food cold...I don't like lukewarm. For the price, I think the
portions could have been a little more generous, very little stuffing, potatoes and gravy. They
did bring out some more stuffing in a bowl when I asked for it. We were not served rolls/butter
either, and when I mentioned it at the end of our meal, they did bring some out in a plastic bag,
warm. The two people who were real roll/bread eaters were not able to enjoy it with their meal.
Taking the rolls out in the cold when we left was inadequate. The pie was too spiced and did not
have a custard texture...at least for my taste. The best thing was the salad?! It was a generous portion
nice selection of field greens, sliced red onion, and grape/cherry tomatoes, and good salad dressings
as well. My son really liked his, and finished it all. He has never been known as a salad lover, but he
did love that one. I have never seen him eat salad with relish like that before...and as his mother he has
had many very good salads that he has passed on since childhood. The service was excellent, the servers
who I think may have been the owners were Irish, were funny, witty and charming. We felt the comfort
of home. Of course since my husband and son are Irish, that was right up their alley. The Irish have a real
pride in them just because they are Irish. I have never seen that with other nationalities. Frankly, I don't
get it, a little over the top I would say. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves on Thanksgiving.
Good Irish food. A very fun and interesting happy hour and regular dinner menu. We enjoyed trying different menu items. Never heard of or had chicken boxty before. Fun to try. The service and food was good. Give it a try - we really enjoyed the restaurant!
Wonderful meal well cooked great service and outstanding beer! You had a porter beer hardly anyone has porter
We both had the corned beef and cabbage. It was delicious - the meat was very lean, tender and tasty; the sides were also great! We loved it! I highly recommend it! Our server was very good - attentive and very pleasant. In hope to return soon!
The food was excellent. The corned beef and cabbage was delicious as was the ravioli! Our server was very pleasant and efficient. It was so good we plan to go back next week?
The food was good and the service was good, but for an Irish pub, there didn't seem to be much about it that was Irish. There were three "Irish" menu choices: Fish & Chips, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Shepherds Pie. They served Guinness and Smithwicks. That was about it. Also, I would expect an Irish pub to have Irish music playing and not have six or more TVs. (I did, however, appreciate that the TVs were muted.) So, I would recommend Kips if you aren't looking for Irish.
Food was really good but not impressed at all with our server. Music was too loud.
Service was great and the food was amazing! We loved it!
Kips went above and beyond to make our birthday/anniversary celebration outstanding. Because two in our group have hearing challenges, we requested a quieter table. Our waiter and Kips’ manager found a perfect spot for us, and even though it was apart from the main dining area, the service, food and ambience was amazing. They even gave the birthday gal complimentary champagne and dessert, which was their fabulous chocolate bread pudding with whipped cream in a large enough portion for all 4 of us. It all made for a perfect evening! We highly recommend Kips.
Service is good
Came in for a late night food and beverage stop before staying at a neighboring hotel. There was a good crowd for it being so late. There was a preseason Vikings game on so many people watching that while dining. Sat at a high top table between the main bar and dining area. My server was over the top awesome!Friendly, quick and attentive service which it a big plus in my book. I tried a couple of menu items, french onion soup and chicken boxty. They were presented very nice and were tasty but was more or less average quality. I would definately go back again and try some others as I saw other items that looked delicious. Either way, the service was top notch and that is something very important in my book!!
Great place to meet friends to catch up.
Food was great.
Love for chicken wings and calamari...
It was a cousin's dinner. Very good evening. The room was semi private and the food delicious.
Delicious! Great, unique, Irish-inspired food. Try the Irish Spring Rolls, Wedge Salad and, of course, Fish and Chips. Patio is dog-friendly.
We have been eating here for several visits when in Mpls.. We didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was good, however the service was not. We had a party of 11. The bill should have included 18% gratuity, the server charged us 20%. The entire time at restaurant was 1:45 minutes. It took 20 minutes to get our bill, which should have taken 5 min. My belief is she didn’t have to give any effort to our table, because she was guaranteed an 18% tip. Again, she charged us 20%. I had to catch a plane, so I did not argue over 2%. We I’ll probably take our family breakfast elsewhere in the future.
Amazing food at Kips, the waitress was on it and took care of us very well.
After we were seated we were never talked to again. 3 different servers walked by and not one even made eye contact. We were there for a half hour and didn't even get water. Only interaction with the staff was when we were seated and when the host said goodbye as we were walking out
I met a small group of clients for a breakfast meeting. Reservation wasn't needed but honored nonetheless on time. The greeter set us up at a nice semi-secluded table which was conducive to conversation, at least in theory. Our breakfast orders were perfectly executed and everyone seemed very satisfied with their food orders.
The only significant glitch happened toward the end of our meeting when, inexplicably, one of the staff decided it was okay to start putting away silverware -- lots and lots and lots of silverware -- in an area just above our table area. The noise he/she created was really distracting. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth, since we were trying to have an important conversation.
We arrived on a Thursday around 6 PM and were brought to a table without delay. It took nearly 20 minutes before we were greeted by server. Once server arrived, we each ordered a tap beer that took another 20 minutes to arrive. The restaurant and bar was NOT very busy. We had initially intended to order an appetizer, however, since the beer took SO long to arrive, we nixed that idea and ordered our meal instead. The fish and chips arrived hot and was delicious, the corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and broccolini were fine, however there was very small amount of cabbage, a lot of mashed potatoes and a good amount of broccolini. The corned beef was lean , but a bit tough. The Shepherd's Pie was just ok. It's much better at the Cross Roads Deli in Minnetonka. This Pie featured undercooked vegetables that were just diced carrots, onions and peas. The description of the vegetables being 'roasted' was completely inaccurate - not a meal for repeat order.
This was our first visit and we were hoping for a better experience. Would we return? Maybe, to give it another try, but hopefully, Kipps can improve their service.
The food is always great and wonderful service.
Oh no.... what happened. I took a few people to my late fathers favorite place, Kips. We sit down and all order the Chicken Pot Pie, low and behold they no longer make it. Very disappointing. Over all the food was good and will go back but I want my Pot Pie! I also couldn't figure out the techno music at an Irish pub.
I was just not that impressed. The hostess was not very friendly. The menu was fine. We tried the pretzel appetizer. It was just ok. I had the fish & chips. The batter they use is not a taste preference. And the size of the fish inside (cod) was a very small portion compared to how large it was with the tasteless batter. Hubby had meat, potatoes & greens. He enjoyed his meal. We had the bread pudding for dessert. It was not a taste preference for either of us. We had a very nice waitress. She went above & beyond for us. The drinks were fine - hubby had Guinness & I had a virgin honey tea. Huge side salads. But I wish the kitchen would not have sent out our salads before we even had our appetizer. It was a bit disorganized. Long walk to the bathroom in the same building as hotel. Near hotel lobby. Very clean establishment & bathrooms. I think they need a giant sign outside by hotel doors advertising restaurant. And be careful not to trip on cobblestone path inside & very dim lights in entry way. Be very careful if you have mobility issues.
Service was a bit slow. Don'the if they were short staffed or what. The waitress was great and upbeat. The food was AMAZING! Definitely going back.
We come here often for Sunday Brunch and like it because it is quite, they have a omelet bar, and the service is very good.
Excellent vibrant atmosphere, we felt relaxed and enjoyed our specials. The lighting was just right and the staff and service were prompt. Our Valentine’s Day was memorable!
This is a "happening place"! Great food, Happy Hour prices are very good, selection of beer good, wait staff very pleasant and helpful. Some tables are less noisier than others - the crowd is having a good time. Menu selection is very good.
The evening service was slow and staff rude. Waiting for 5-10 minutes upon arrival to be greeted. Said the was a 20 minutes wait but there was clearly empty seating at the bar and in the various dining areas. This isn’t the first bad experience at Kipp’s - a prior visit we had bad service and ants on the table. They only survive sucking off the hotel guests. Order food delivery service.
Nice atmosphere but food had very little flavor and burger seemed to have been frozen and heated up. Overpriced.
The lunch specials for under $10 was awesome. Our group all chose the fish and chips which was excellent.
Great food, service was friendly and helpful
Cozy atmosphere, perfect for casual get together!
Beer list was excellent, atmosphere was quiet on a Monday night, good service, cozy.
Food was very mediocre, tasteless. Service was a bit slow. Restaurant was very noisy.
We went to Kip's for Thanksgiving not knowing what to expect, and we were more than surprised at the quality of the food and service. Small dining area was nice because it never got noisy.
The pumpkin pie was excellent!
We had been there many times, always have good food and service. Our waiter, Andrew, was excellent, very attentive and pleasant....
They had good lunch specials, haven't been for awhile. It was good. hardly anyone in there on a Friday afternoon. Waiter was attentive.
Great daily specials and fun atmosphere with a big screen. Also it serves a great outdoor dining.
